Please, I am considering buying the Nexus 4, but I need to know about battery life.. Can anybody compare it with the HTC One X?
Thanks
Nexus 4 has better battery life than HOX (but not too much). Have them both.
Which HOX? I had international running jellybean and it is better so far than my N4, although I can't remember if the ROM I was using had a custom kernel or not.

Just wanted to get some peoples opinions on battery life between the two. After owning the device for 4 days it seems that when I am on AOSP the battery life is somewhat worse but it may just be in my head so I wanted to know what you guys have found.

I would say it will be better on a stock de-bloated rom until someone cracks hardware acceleration in AOSP. I flashed AOKP noticed the CPU loads were almost always about 1.0 higher then the stock rom and I would imagine this is because the CPU is doing all of the canvas drawing.
This is only aimed at people who have come from the HTC One X and now use N4
Htc One X costs same as N4 on google play, my only reason for not being sure wether to get the N4 is the 16 GB which with the use of games may not be enough so thinking might go with HTC ONE X as I have been thinking of buying that phone for some time but only thing holding me back the while time was I have a friend who stated ONE X battery life is atrocious and really bad so IF N4 battery life is better than HTC ONE X ill go for N4 if HTC ONE X has real life usage based same battery life screen on time as N4 or better I'm thinking of going for the 32gb ONE X
What you think guys?
Nexus 4 has much better battery life, not to say that nexus 4 has the greatest battery life out there, but the One X battery life was really bad for me ( the tegra 3 version). I was excited when I was getting 3 hours of screen time...

Hey guys I got my Nexus 4 a month ago, I am happy with it but I'v been tempted to switch to iPhone 5 because the batter life is better on it " note that i am an android user " but before I want to do the switch I want to ask is there a ROM with 4.2 Jelly bean android that Can like Make the Nexus 4 Last MORE than the stock android that it got ?
and if there is which one is it ?
and is it hard to root + install rom on the N4 ?
Well for starters what is your current battery life stats.
and Also iPhone's are known to have a better battery life than android purely due to the way the OS works. The only devices that can meet or exceed this depending on who you are is the Note 2 and the Razer Maxx

You could root and try some of the different kernels. This effects battery more.
Personally I have found battery life dramatically improved with Franco's Kernel but not everyone/every phone see's the same results so you just have to try them yourself.
Rooting is very easy if you follow the instructions and read carefully.
The Nexus 4 stock is one of the worst Android phones I have owned in terms of battery life (2nd to only the Inspire) but using modified kernels made it much more reasonable for me.
With Next android around the corner(next month), I would not root or install the other ROMS. I was flashaholic Once with myh ARC S. But i have stayed on stock since i got my NEX4.
Stock is good for me. Love the pure android. Just wish KLP brings battery optimizations.

I had the AT&T S3 but yeah the S3 got pretty good battery life for me. Not amazing, but very average. I at least never had to worry about it dieing in 1 day while barely using it, which I can't say for stock N4. I do have one of the very early revisions so things may have gotten better?

Possibly could be the latter. I got my Nexus 4 on Monday so its still a fresh baby but it seems to last longer than my Galaxy S3 ever did
I don't find anything that makes my battery last longer. I get a day's use out of it for the most part do I'm happy

for battery life get a custom kernel, different rom had no huge effect on battery for me. I have one of the first batches and I'm using franco and it lasts longer than the s3. And also reflashing stock rom may improve your battery life aswell.
Hello there, can any one share how long does the battery last with uptodate firmware and in comparison how it compares with like CM10?

That's a good question. Does anyone know?
I haven't run CM on my Find 5 yet but have read that battery life is better. FWIW recent firmware updates have improved the battery and firefly will be released soon and that has better battery consumption as well. Try CM.. its not like it voids the warranty. If the battery life is not as good flash back to stock!

Hi everyone.
Thinking of getting either the international version of the S4 or the OnePlus One.
Will save some bucks if I get the S4.
With a new battery and MM custom ROM (are there stable ones?) I was thinking this might be a good device.
Or as owners would U say I should add a few $ and opt for the OPO?
Thanks a million!
don't know the battery size of oneplus but the s4 benefits from carrying a spare or using a high capacity battery. opo has a much better CPU. always go newer for me...

Thanks for that input. The OPO has a 3,000 mhA battery and since I am a light user, lasts me 2 days (running stock CM 13 MM).
I guess battery wise the S4 would be a downgrade then. Carrying an extra battery is not an option for me as I will lose it within a week
it's hard to judge but if you're getting two days usage out of 3000mAh then you should be OK with 2600mAh to get back to a charger again. roms with alucard's kernel can be underclocked and or undervolted as well as being run on a power saving profile. that said I'm sure opo has similar options available...
You can also get a 3000mAh battery for the S4.
That being said, it really depends on how high the price difference is.
I personally would go for the OPO, because of the better specs. But I dislike the fact that it has no card slot. This is pretty much a deal-breaker for me.
