Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has seen or may know a fix for this. I got the Nexus 7 toolkit (great tool guys thanks :good: ), I then unlocked the boot loader but now I can't do anything else. After unlocking the boot loader it set my device to defaults and the Developer option is missing from settings so I cannot enable USB debugging. Any ideas? Thanks
I would have put this in the toolkit thread but I don't have access to do that. Thanks.

Spend some time reading the materials in the Google Nexus 4 forum on XDA then you will be able to unlock the bootloader and correct your problem

To connect the phone to your computer you need drivers (search them on Google), then use fasboot for unlocking bootloader (you will found fastboot tool in Android sdk)
There many guides that explain in more details how to do this
you said you are a noob and you do not know how to unlock bootloader. Lets be honest since you are in a development forum and you know that your bootloader is locked then you should know there is obviously a way to unlock them. Search that my friend and dont spend your time posting here but looking for answers to your problem which there are plenty of them....Good Luck
all good now

How to root the Nexus 9:

Doing it as soon as i get home .
That's the first nexus device I've seen that doesn't use Google's bootloader, very interesting!

Good news: You can unlock the bootloader under the development tab in settings. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...-6-9-requires-checking-box-developer-options/

Thanks for that, I kept getting permission denied. All is well now ?
I wonder what HTC means when they say ,"this *may* void your warranty" when unlocking the bootloader. Did the all the other nexus devices say that in the bootloader before they were unlocked?

My nexus 4 did.
I guess it's fine as long as it's not being permanently marked with some bit set somewhere so their service department can see. The device can be locked again.

They did. Although you can just type fastboot oem lock and it should relock the bootloader without wiping any data.
Will wait till root is available to unlock it

No way. Unlocking wipes the device, but rooting doesnt. I plan to unlock mine the second I get it. That way I can start loading data and stuff onto it and start using it. Then, when root is available, I don't have to wipe my data at that point to do it becuase I was already proactive about unlocking the bootloader.

Hey great tutorial!
I got 1 problem.
I installed the latest android the latest sdk of android on my pc.
Followed the tutorial from you to setup adb. although its from 2011
and when i tried to do: 'adb devices' nothing happened.
The list stayed empty and my nexus 9 didn't have a pop up.
I had the nexus 9 unlocked with the screen on.

If you're on Windows, it could be a driver problem. You can check on it in Windows device manager. If you need to install the driver, Open the Android SDK manager and make sure the USB driver is installed, and install any available updates. If that doesn't work, you can find the Google nexus USB driver by itself and install it using the windows device manager. You can search for the relevant step by step guides here on the forum or elsewhere online.

But you'll have to reinstall everything when you unlock the bootloader. I know its not hard to do with ADB, but I don't understand why you'd bother backing up and restoring everything when you can just unlock the bootloader right away and save yourself from wiping to root once you're already established on the device. Well, to each his own I guess.
If i unlock my nexus9 do i still get android OTA's?

Hi guys,
So I got a brand new Nexus 6p. But the thing is that it asks me for a Pin-code. I tried several sim cards and i can safely assume that it seems to be some kind of security code. It's store bought so i'm a bit perplexed as to whats going on.
many thanks in advance and sorry if this was asked already
Was the box sealed? It shouldn't demand a pin code straight out the box. Return it.
The box was sealed but it was a demo device so i think the store locked the phone.
when i boot into the bootloader it shows me that the device is locked. is there any way to remove the security code?
the device is not rooted but i would surely do so if that helps.
How would you root it if you can't check OEM unlocking in developer settings to unlock bootloader?
What about resetting to factory settings from the boot loader

I just bought this phone from Cricket, and the first thing I do is unlock the dev menu and look at dev options. Imagine my surprise when I see an option to unlock the bootloader! YMMV: select on, enter your pattern/password (if needed), then accept the terms. When I get back to my computer I'll see what kind of trouble I can cause...

We would have to figure out how to back up the original recovery. You could also try the fastboot boot command. That's pretty much a sure way to boot a recovery without messing things up but it has to be in .IMG format to try it.
By any chance has anyone tried the root permission setting found in engineering mode under settings? Dial *#*#2637643#*#* in your dialer to access it

On a side note for any potential developers there are several open source projects to read write to the Qualcomm devices on github I'll link em after work. And I have the Qualcomm signing keys they use if that'll help

Heres a link to the thread that goes over rooting the 60555u. Its kind of simple if you have some patience, and on page 5 i made a short guide on what i did to get it working. Check it out and get your phone rooted.
Do you think there might be a root for Alcatel idol 5 cricket?
Is the cricket idol 5 in sugar? If so, the same could pry be done that was done to the idol 4

I'm quite interested in buying this device (Nova 3i), but it's very important to me that i can root it.
I've noticed that the option "OEM Unlock" is not greyed out, and can be easily enabled, at least in the devices that are sold in my country.
So the question is:
Is it enought to enable "OEM Unlock" in "Developer Options" from the phone settings to unlock the bootloader and I can simply install TWRP afterthat?
Or do I still have to unlock it using unlock key from Huawei Website (which is unavailable)?
And if not, is there any other way to root it? Has anyone had luck in rooting it (e.g. Kingroot, etc)?
Thanks in advance.
