I updated my nex7 to 4.2 last week. Today I began getting the update notifications. Any ideas why I am getting this?
Stock Rom...rooted.

Its an update for 4.2.1. Got mine yesterday. It says 4.2 I know, mine did too.

Nice...but that's where I'm confused. My tablet shows 4.2 already...
After you update, it will say 4.2.1

I'm confused but I understand that nexus 7 is a tegra 3 device. Google nexus 7 webpage claims nexus 7 can play galaxy on fire. However, Google play is saying galaxy on fire is not compatible with nexus 7.

There you go-you've answered your own question. When a major OS update comes along, some apps needs to be updated for compatibility. It would seem that's your issue.

Yep, this seems to be the case. I've reached out to the developers, let's see what they'll com back with.

Currently running 4.2.1 and very pleased with it. But occasionally need to run an app. that no longer works on 4.2. But it does work on 4.1.
Was thinking I'd like to be able to flash a 4.1 ROM when I want. Is that possible; if so which ROM please, a CM ROM would be great?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Can't, 4.1 was never released on the nexus4.
You're better off contacting that developer and time to upgrade

There will never be a downgrade to a firmware that was never on the device in the first place. The N4 was released with 4.2, and no developer will create a 4.1 ROM for it

Shame, but I had expected that would be the answer
It's the MM Tracker application that is stuck only working on 4.1. Sadly the developer has had some hassle and isn't permitted to update anymore. Something in 4.2 broke it.
Wishing I'd kept my Galaxy Nexus as a backup phone now!

I suppose an Optimus G Rom can't be modded to work on our N4? Bluetooth issues are driving me nuts,
Edit: Never mind the Optimus G Forum is dead right now :cyclops:

It isn't even rolling out for people with the nexus 4 yet and that is the device it is rumored to on when you buy a new one in brazil.
This is how rumors get started.
I'm running 4.3, why- you haven't heard that it's been released

How you get Android 4.3? I thought I read somewhere that an app or theme or something required 4.3. I thought maybe it was just it was just written by mistake.

I don't know about 4.2.2 on the Nexus 7 but there's a leak on 4.2.2 running on a Nexus 4 http://www.pocketdroid.net/android-422-running-nexus-4-brazil-malaysia/

I wonder what it fixes. I hope google put up a changelog soon enough.

I'd still take that with a good dose of skepticism. Editing the build.prop to show a different version isn't especially challenging and the release alphanumeric that's made the round online is not consistent with what Google actually uses. Likewise, if you browse that site, they don't exactly have the best track record vetting rumors for accuracy.

If you scroll that screen down there's a "Windows RT" menu item with options for a new bootloader, download Win RT and "Apply for kit to add a Windows button and upgrade to 2GB (fits on pogo pins)

Might need to insert ''Installation Disc''.
I have android 7.5.89 and it gives you the option to make your nexus crap rainbows. Greatest feature ever.

Hello guys I just got my N4 from Germany. It was bought a couple days ago from media markt.
When i turned it on i was expecting an update notice but nothing. Then i checked and it already had last firmware installed.
So are the last N4 shipped with JOP40D firmware?

Depends on when it was manufactured.
R: Which Android stock version?
It was manufactured on January 03. So it should be normal. I was afraid it was sort of returned product.

I saw that some of the android news sites were reporting the N4 was getting the update, and they now show as being all the Nexi (plural nexus?) except the 4 are starting to see the update.
