Hey Peeps.
What does everyone have as the cpu speed and voltage on each of the 4 settings. My phone seems to be the best for battery when i had clock 1 at 450mhz with voltage at 26
Since i dropped it to 300 and did second clock at 600 it seems to only last me a day of minimal use.
I should note i would like battery and no lag with my experience, no use making it conserve battery but my performance is crap
No lags, games are smooth with decent battery life

To undervolt and also have a healthy handset, someone's said that the processor speed by 20 plus, 2 is the optimum, making yours 29 at 450?
Its stable at 26??
Mines the same as above but my max clocks at 1000 and undervolted to 52!

I can't see the thumbnail of the 2nd post.
is it a bother for me to ask the specific voltage/cpu of each of the 4 clocks
I saw it now. I have it set up similar to that, i will give it a shot.
I also have another enquiry, ever since I installed this revision of the rom my phone used to have a green light LED now when i boot my phone the LED is red... Any reason why?
Sorry about the pic
The red light is to indicate 2ndboot, and will go after startup
An app called vsel calculator will help you out in determining vsel values according to your frequency

are any of you guys getting the phone to not 'ping the towers all of a sudden. i have to restart my phone to get the phone to get signal..
Its always full bars but its white instead of blue. Is that an instability of the ROM? as i never had this issue with the Rev. 1 ROM

That's deff interesting. I haven't done much playing with CPU apps because the one time I put setCPU on my Aria it caused all kinds of issues. But that was like three days after the Aria launched so setCPU may support Aria now.
According to Android System Info I get:
480mhz 23.08%
600mhz 76.92%
So it is throttling for sure.
Maybe SetCPU will work now? but I hope it can throttle lower than 480. is there a limit to how low it can go?
All phones throttle in order to save juice. Your phone wouldn't last long at 600mhz. So this won't help with setcpu since the kernel still needs to be hacked. The CPU should clock lower in full sleep mode

It can, my Aria shows it is at 245.76Mhz 95.61% of the time
Android system info shows lower clocks, like 200Mhz, but my Aria hasn't operated at that speed at all.

hi i just recently traded for a vibrant and when i got it it was already rooted. but it seems to have some troubles with the cpu. on set cpu it keeps fluxuating from 1000Mhz to 800Mhz to 1ooMhz and i think its causing my phone to lag a lot. anyone have any idea how to fix this or whats causing it to lag? thanks
The phone does that according to the load put on the cpu... If you set your defaults to 1000/1000 it won't do that anymore but will eat battery..

i set both to 1000 and it still goes to 100mhz
Solution: stop messing with it. The clock is supposed to do that.

yeah its variable clock speed...let it keep doing what its doing...
You can lock it to 1000Mhz, but your battery will last aproximately 1-2 hours. Maybe 3 if you're lucky lol. I wouldn't recommend it. The phone automatically goes to 1Ghz when it needs to.

I am not sure how true this statement is. Have you tried this? I have had my min clock speed set to 800mhz for about a week and a half now and my phone lasts me from 7am until 12pm without charging the battery with plenty of usage.
I do it on my laptop, was wondering if I can do it on my phone to save power?
I looked aound a bit and everyone seems vey focused on overcloking. I don't have a problem with the 1Ghz speed, was ust wondering if I can stay at that speed and save some juice and if it' safe.
Yes you can. Get one of the apps off the market either unstable apps or jrummy. I use the unstable version to under clock from stock down to values of 50, 43, 36, 25. Which is quite a lot lower I think.

The apps are only .99 -so you can't go wrong with 'em. But I like learning this stuff and tinkering. So you may have already checked out this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812749
It is about overclocking- but you can use the same information to underclock. You just need the overclock.ko file and then adjust the setscaling.sh file so that it uses lower vsels.
I did a little write up in that thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8771591&postcount=43
so if you want to check into- once you fool around with it a bit- it is not that hard. I now actually have 3 scripts I can run. 1 for stock clock speeds undervolted. 1 for stock speed stock voltage. and 1 for high voltage clocked to 1.3mhz.
good luck.
it has definitely been a great mod to my phone. I'm running stock speeds and ULV. Battery life has been phenomenal.

The stock vsel is 56, right? I've tried going down to 54 and the stress test in set CPU goes well for 5 minutes. At some point between 5 and 10 minutes I get an error.
Is that normal and I should go with 54 or should the test last a lot longer without an error? Or is the stock vsel higher?

58, 44, 33, 27 are my vsel values oc'd to 1.125. Any higher oc will slow me down to a crawl.
To answer your question, I think stock vsel is 62 on Froyo.
I have been running the Ultra low voltage 1.3ghz preset from jrummy's app for a couple of weeks now with zero stability problems. Improved my battery by about 15-20 percent. I have seen warnings about stability with ultra low voltage but I guess I got lucky. Low 18's in Linpack and upper 1600 quadrants.

How is 36s hours even possible? I get around 10-12 hours of use, but I'm a heavy phone user...
Also, is it possible to undervolt using setCPU?

No- set cpu only adjust your clock speeds- not the amount of power the phone is drawing to obtain those speeds. The .99 apps will allow for undervolting though. Or if you do a little study on the OverClock thread- it is not to hard to do with a script.
@Daali What are your vsel numbers? Mine are:
1ghz/45vsel
800/40
600/30
300/18
I get only 12 hrs of heavy use.

WARNING: Use this settings at your own risk. I am not responsible for what will happen to your phone.
So, Siyah Kernel 4.1.4 has been released, and since 4.1.1 and its new features I have struggled for obtaining maximum battery life without loosing smoothness.
I tested these settings on 5 phones (Galaxy S2 GT-I9100): mine and my friends' ones, and we all got the same (more or less) results: it's awesome!
Screen usage can get up to 7 hours. I did these tests with mobile data on for all phone usage, and not in deep sleep. When I was at home I switched to Wi-fi.
My ROM is AOKP M6 (ICS 4.0.4), other tests were made on Resurrection remix JB, stock XWLPF (ics), CM9 stable (screen usage: about 6 hours, no more), and AOKP JB (latest).

I think they are not too aggressive values, but if you get freezes, I recommend you reset your extweaks settings via CWM recovery and then use less aggressive ones.
In the attached screenshots, battery stats analysis starts from 91% since I had to restart my phone, and when it was at 10% I plugged the USB cable in to transfer a .zip file in my SD card, but I don't think that this 15-second charge affected my test (I'm sure it didn't!).
Phone usage was high today, I used Tapatalk, created a new UCCW skin, did some long phone calls, Facebook, messaging, e-mail checking, and other stuff I don't remember since the battery stats don't even report them (lol).
Notice that this is an extreme test. 7 hours of screen usage is not a myth, reality instead, but you cannot get them with the so called 'everyday usage'.
Screenshots of test made on my usual phone usage will come soon

you could have atleast included what you were doing in those 7 hours screen time like browsing, texting, facebook, etc, also the brightness of the screen, battery chart..

MagicConfig was my starting point for GPU voltage levels, how cannot I admit? I always used those frequency steps (first post) but I've never found the right voltages to avoid lags, especially when turning screen on. And I forgot to thank you. I say sorry mate

Try the GetRIL app, it should be able to find the RIL for you.
But if I understand correctly, KH3 is a Modem from the GB firmwares, and you're running and ICS Firmware, the RIL is part of the Firmware and I don't think you can install a GB RIL on ICS... but try the app.

I can't really feel a difference in "smoothness" and it's the first time I change GPU frequencies and UV... but I still can't really tell a difference... what should I expect from changing GPU params, other than battery life?
buddy i cant find Siyah Kernel 4.1.1+ do you have any dwonlad that.
I know many will probably just ignore this bug, but I can't because just knowing it's there is pestering. Anyway the GPU is not functioning properly ever since 4.2.2 . Its frequency isn't dynamic.
I would like if some volunteers with faux clock or another GPU reading app could confirm if they have the same issue on 4.2.2 .

On demand doesn't entail a static frequency. Previously it would drop to 128 or 200 but now it sticks to 400... That is definitely not normal behavior for this governor. I only had faux clock open and I doubt that app would be GPU intensive.
And this is a problem for me because the the back is noticeably warmer than before despite me having a max of 1ghz and eco mode.

Ah ok sorry, thought you meant it wasn't scaling through the frequencies on light loads.
Dunno may be it's using some kind of low power state instead, I'm using faux stock enhanced kernel and mine is cool at the back with just normal use, also getting great battery life.
Mine only gets hot with heavy gaming or by just browsing with 3g on.

My issue is that it sticks to 400 which is high state. The only time it changes is when I set it to 487, it'll switch between 487-->400 constantly. Something is triggering a load but these tests are on fresh installs. It's generating heat which isn't good for batteries, especially non removable.
All these issues with my nexus are seriously making me reconsider my purchase -_-
