Hello,
Just got my Asus Transformer 16GB from Walmart...so excited!!(ummm don't be jealous - you will get your own once it's available widely JK )
Ok - I turned on the TF - and does anyone know when/how long my TF will get the 3.1 push from Asus? Or I have to download from support.asus.com web site and manually update it
Thx,
rcjpth
Wondering the same thing here. I went ahead and downloaded the FW update at the asus website, but i can't get the tab to pick it up once i transfer it. I'm new at this so any help would be appreciated!
Same here.. I'm not even sure if it's currently wise to upgrade to 3.1 with all the issues people have noted it having.
No issues with 3.1 here and Asus actually pushed it to my device.

How long was it taken so your device received the update 3.1? I'm wondering should I be updating it manually?
Thx,
rcjpth
The update seems to be rolled out by algorithm unknown - some has had to wait days to a week before they receive their update, some get it immediatly.
I received mine the day after the official release in UK. I did a manual check just a few minutes to early, because I received a message that there where no updates available. A few minutes later I get the pop-up about a firmare update being available.
Took me just past an hour, make sure you have more than 50% battery.
I was out of range from 5/31 - 6/6 (evening)... When I returned it connected to my network and immediately DL'd the update - took about 10 minutes.
I have had my TF since May 5th, 32GB.

Just try again in hour or so

Yah sorry. My post wasn't meant to say the update took an hour. Rather it showed up after an hour.
I've had mine on for a few hours and still no sign of the update...

Same here. I guess I just have to be patient.
Got update on Thursday, as soon as I opened the box. WW version in Australia.
Yayyy - 2 hours, no update insight yet - no plan to root it because basically nothing special to run or backup - software or purchased apps are stored in market - be prepared for Netflix,,,patient and patient ---- one day Netflix will be played on Asus TF! hhehehe
Alright - I activated my Transformer at 2:55pm and now at 8:30pm it said it got the update - proceeded to the update
For my case, it took almost 5.5 hour to get the update delivered to my TF
Thx all
rcjpth
My 16GB had the update waiting when I first opened the box and turned it on. I went ahead and updated.
But then I found out you can't root with 3.1 yet, so I had to downgrade to 3.0.1 again so I could flash Primordial 3.1.
So don't even bother waiting for the OTA update since you won't be able to root anyway.
I got mine a week ago from Asus OTA. I went to check updates in Settings>About and it said none available, then shortly after I received a notification that an update was available.
Got my update earlier. I did a factory reset and after the initial setup, I went to try and check for update and it found it on my second attempt.
So far youtube has been fine. I dunno about battery life, yet. I've been using it pretty much all day so it's draining quickly.
Hey Guys!
I'm from the UK and I own a completely stock, unmodified Nexus 4 and every time I check for an update, I am still 'up to date' on 4.2.1.
I have already tried the frameworks cache empty and force stop thing. It stopped all my push notifications up and destroyed my Google Account link to my phone (couldn't see it on Google Play Weblink...etc). Alas, I spent 1 hour fixing it (no phone reset, YAY!) and am in no way prepared to ever do that method again...ever! haha
Anyway my question to you is....should I worry that I haven't got the OTA yet? It's come through for a lot of people on XDA forums and after owning an Apple Device for a couple of years and being used to the instant update, I am slightly concerned....
Your thoughts and wisdom is much appreciated!
Thanks

haha thank you!
I've been stressing out (like...seriously) all night about the push + google issues after using the framework short-cut. I think everything is working same as normal now! (reconnect google account, clear cache for play store framework and play services, clear app data for all apps). I nearly died when I found out what happened!
usually OTA is released country by country
Disable location and then clear framework followed by disable and enable framework.
Now check for update.

I did it about 6/7 times but to no avail . And it screwed up my software (push notifications...etc) so I wouldn't like to try that again! I was just concerned because I haven't received it about 2/3 days after the update was released.

Don't force stop just clear the data and check for updates.
But yeah my sync stuff got messed up afterwards as well ... so I wouldn't recommend it unless you really need the update asap.
Just wait... there is literally nothing in 4.2.2 to get excited about.
roll'n roll'n roll'n

I check every time someone makes a new post about the ota 4.2.2 being , which isn't very often at all...
I assume it's a measured roll out and it's not my turn yet..
For reference; I'm in the US/ Miami, Florida, considered one of the most important states/ cities in the US. And I could say that in my world I'm the most important person I know, best is that everyone in it knows me and knows this fact. Yet I've had to wait too
OP, if you're still not updated. Do the following:
select settings/apps/ALL/google services framework
DO NOT force-close, just (in this order) clear cache/ delete data/ disable app/ and re-enable app.
don't touch location.
check for update.
EDIT: correction cache 1st, data 2nd.

The only change I know of in 4.2.2 that'll make a difference to me is the fact that the WiFi and Bluetooth toggles have been changed from links to the settings to actual toggles.

Once you delete data, clear cache button isn't active. Took two tries, on wifi and it showed the update.
Annoying not remembering what app you've renamed, erroring when applying update :/

Hey there,
quick question, as i'm new to this, since this is my first android phone. so i've heard that 4.2.2 was released about a week ago. now apparently this update comes in waves, meaning that not everyone will get it at the same time. now i've got two questions about it, since i still haven't received this update:
- is this normal that you have to wait so long to get an update that's already available to a lot of people? (don't wanna do the framework trick)
- what is the purpose of that? please don't tell me, google couldn't handle the traffic when some people want to download this tiny update at the same time? oO
i'm just asking because im starting to worry if there's something wrong with my phone that makes it unable to receive system updates. i don't need the update that bad.
Yes. Don't worry.
I have a n4 ,n7 and n10. Framework worked for me 1st time with all the devices. Its very easy. Why not just do it???

Because i've read that it messes up / resets settings of certain apps.
Worked fine for me.
Clearing Google services framework from the apps section definitely works.
I haven't gotten it either. Framework worked on N10 and gnex. I'm mainly not forcing it on N4 out of curiosity of how long it will take. Yes, I'm strange but not really needing update on N4. No reboots, no butter in the update, etc.

I haven't got it either. Is that related to the country or the batch of the phone you purchased?
Still havent got it either. I dont wanna force it with the framework data delete trick, the update is nothing interesting so id like to wait and see how long it would take to recieve the OTA.

i know in canada, the updates go through service providers(if purchased from them) instead of google servers. maybe this is what is happening if you don't see the update yet?

No update for me either, but I don't mind it. Nothing major that I've read so far will force me to manually update my phone. If it doesn't come by Google I/O, then I'd worry, but by then KLP will probably be out.

They stagger the updates so their servers don't get overloaded with everyone trying to download the update at once. Microsoft does the same thing with Windows updates but they finish within a few days.
Canada here. My N7 took five days to get the OTA. It's been five days since the rollout began and still no OTA on my N4 yet.
Downloading now on sprint.
Update. Unfortunately the update did not resolve the duplicate SMS issue. On LTE, people are still receiving multiple copies of the same message.
Att nexus as well. No carrier interference. Yay.
AT&T just got the update as well

Also got the notification on GPS Nexus 6.
Can anyone provide steps on how to update and disable encryption?
Can confirm on T-Moble as well. Although I didn't grab a screen, it just hit mine.
Sweet. I was reading that the OTA will roll out on the 15th. But today works better LOL.
Is anyone noticing any add-ons? My recipients are no longer getting duplicate messages.
Also got it just fine on o2 in the UK

So glad I came back to a nexus device! Wooo. Had enough of carrier interference and manufacturers taking their jolly ol' time. Oh not to mention, Locked bootloaders. Can not wait to get home from work and flash this. Hopefully some improvements to be had with the update.
I am still not sure how people are cranking 6+ hrs SOT. The best I have been able to do is just a bit more than 4 hrs.

Your device won't take the OTA if you have root. You can't even sideload it. You have to flash the factory image if you want to update.

5th Try
I have tried to update around 5 times. 2 of which I fully wiped the phone. I keep getting "upgrade failed", and installation interrupted. This is really frustrating...
Someone please save it before applying it and upload for those of us not so lucky to get it...as if there's so many Note Edges out they need to be selective...but thats' ATT
edit: it's downloading for me. I'll try to save it and upload 1.2GB sounds like a full rom not an update. None of my previous phones lollipop updates were this large!
Downloading right now! This makes up for not having root yet for att. Download is real slow though
It is taking over 2 hours to download.....
Downloading it now it is a snail paced download, hopefully fixing some kitkat issues.
I have an Outlook forced device encryption. What are all the "Must do" steps before I can install successfully? I'm sure it will fail based on past experiences. Txs.
Anyone have any idea when the Best Buy Samsung reps will get this update pushed to their system? I bought the regular Note 4 because I wanted Lollipop right away but I had to go to the Samsung kiosk at BB to get the update pushed to my phone. I was there last night at 10pm and they said that it was still listed as KitKat in the system. I'm hoping for something before my 14 days with the Note expires.
Took 4 hours to download.
Runs fast. Has the blocking mode exception. Battery life seems a little worse, for now. Maybe because I'm playing with it too much...

can you upload it im in canada and have the at&t N915A version but might not get the update here. http://cdn4.xda-developers.com/images/icons/icon14.gif
Finally!! Took 2hrs to download for me. Been running it for about 4 hrs and it's definitely an improved experience. No lag, I can write using the stylus without the urge to throw my phone at a wall lol.. and it doesn't take a decade to view my recent apps. Its about damn time AT&T!
I wonder if this would be workable on a T-Mobile phone since Roms are usually interchangeable.
Issues so far
To all who have upgraded - Do you also experience the following issues:
Notifications do not show in the "briefing panel" any more
Floatification shows duplicate notifications
the night clock is too bright now due to the thicker font used
when I select an item on the S Planner panel it takes me to yesterday's calendar entries
Notifications on the Lock Screen cover the user information (could become a big deal because I have a message asking to call my wife's number if found)
Apart from that I like Lollipop but I hope the issues above can be resolved somehow.
UPDATE: Some of the issues went away after a couple of restarts I am MUCH happier already!
Thanks!
Second failed attempt here trying to download and install the update from AT&T onto my Edge.
And I have to wait another 24 hours to try again.
Anyone else having an issue trying to get this to install successfully?

Well, for me the download took about 1.5 hours, the update took about 30 min (including app updates) all went fine, settings seem to have carried over fine. (precautions I took were, left the phone on the charger, kept it on the same stable wifi connection, did not use the device other than checking on status, disabled lock screen pin)
Cheers
