Basically I am running my N10 vanilla...
I haven't done anything to it (yet)
So was a little disappointed today to find that it when it received a notification it has started "artifacting" on the screen as well as the notification light pulsing...[see video]

I recently bought a xperia and noticed that the screen is flickering when you turn off the automatic adjustment and turn the screen to maximum. Is this normal or should i return it? its very innoying. It's the light in the bottom of the screen that flickers.
I would return it. Mine does not do this, so I wouldnt consider this "normal"
seems that you have a defective retroillumination led... return it

I also recently received my X1. I also note that the light of my screen flickers but only with certain software. It vibrates on the left when loading windows, and on the black bar in touchflo3d between the start menu and the clock ... I can't see if it is a hardware problem and therefore if I should get the guarantee
All my stuff has notification pulse/light/etc on...yet i dont get it anymore?
i love this light being used...but..uhh..it stopped? any help?

But does it ever blink? It should only blink when you get a notification while the screen is off.
A) it used to be implemented and when it did, it blinked.
B) any notification i get (email, twitter, calender event, taking ****s) when the screen is off is not shown through the notification light.
C) i hate my father
D) i have reset the thing a few times and have set everything with notification light

i hope so because notification light is absolutely key with such a device. you think i can still return it if its faulty? (im going to do a complete factory restore if all else fails and no light is shown still..then im going to see if i can still return it) i bought it from verizon, kept everything...im sure then can do a switch..no?

I've been experiencing a strange problem with my N4.
Sometimes when waking the phone back from idle mode the screen gets dimmed. Not all of it though – the status bar and control panel at the bottom won't be affected. It looks like a layer that all of a sudden covers most parts of my screen. Toggling the brightness settings will have an effect on the overall screen only in that it only allows more light through this half-opaque black layer, it won't get rid of it however. I need to reboot the phone in order to get rid of it.
Running a rooted N4 – CWM 6.0.4.7, SuperSU 2.16, KK 4.4.4 (KTU84P)
This has been an ongoing problem for as long as I have the phone, I think… but it seems like it's becoming more frequent. I can't find anything related to this topic on the internet.

I have a Note 4 N910F with stock Android 5.0.1 and i have seen some issues with the ambient display.
With this feature the phone is supposed to turn its screen on every time a notification arrives. My phone turns its screen on for some notifications like messages and viber but for other applications the screen doesnt turn on. Allthough if i press the home screen the notification is there on the lock screen.
Its kinda annoying thing because thats one of the major functions about android lollipop.
I would like to mention that its not any settings problem because all the notifications for its application are enabled on my phone.
If anyone knows if this is normal or software issue or application issue it would be very helpful. Thank you.
First of all... How did you get ambient display to work?
I don't have the option although sammobile posted a video with a lollipop rom having this feature.
I dont know if i am right but by ambient display i mean that when a notification arrives it appears on the lock screen and the screen turns on.
For me for some apps the notification is on the lock screen and the screen doesnt wake but for other apps like messages and viber both notifications and screen wake is there.
for that reason i use an app that whenever there is a new notification the screen turns on.

Hey. Could you share your csc files so that I can enable amibent display on my device?? Your device must have it only because the country you're in.
That's not ambient display. This function is missing in the recent release of 5.0.1 touchwiz. Sammobile did show it being there in the sound and notification menu above the daydream option but seems Samsung left it out in the release. I'm thinking that the delay with release for other European countries is due to bugs and missing items, I'm not sure. The original delay was to get tw lollipop to work with the vr headset. At present its hit and miss with notifications lighting up the screen when they arrive. Some apps do it and some don't. Ambient display is where you pick up the phone and notifications are shown in black and white for quick glance as is the case for nexus 6 lollipop or cm12. I'm hoping the rollout to other countries well have solved the missing ambient display and the priority notification not having any time option like in blocking mode on kk.

Hi all,
Assuming this is the case for everyone - LED is super bright when charging, but for any notification it's dim and next to useless.
I'm rooted etc so tried a couple of the LED apps in the store that allow you to play with settings, but none of them have improved it.
Has anyone found a work around or got any tips to make the LED useful?
