How to install:
You have to be on ANY ICS ROM for this to "work".
Make a backup.
Make all wipes.
Mounts/Storage Format system.
Install ROM.
After install wipe cache and data and reboot.
If something went wrong restore.
Dont complain if it doesnt work...Use it or leave it like this, no one made you use it...

sorry we didnt know that. we just tried using a porting method.
check system/libs/hw...you will that we have msm7x30_surf other phones with our specs using the msm7630 so....how you could port it exacly??you need to recompile the whole kernel and if it work...after that you need device tree that using msm7630 libs!!anyway porting is not able exept you will use our hardware files but that no use cause we already having cm10 and our libs need fixing!!

If you change only boot.img , build.prop the rom will not boot!
But knowlage is good think...logcat and check it!!

well i searched some porting methods on the internet and i found an easy one so i thought it would be a good idea to try it.

we actually changed many files not only boot.img and build.prop ^_^ we our tester will find his phone we will test it for sure

I can read music files. No sound during play - sound problem.

2.3.7 is still fairly lightweight (wayyyyy too lightweight , a lot of libs are missing)

I tried , but there was no root
New build uploaded , feels very unlaggy now
To get root:
Flash cf-root b82 , then flash the OC Kernel (CF-Root gives root , OC Kernel gives OC and restores bootanimation)
Pardon me if i am wrong, I heard that the build file will be very small compared to the stock ROM ( About half the size). This AOSP ROM is 80 Mb. Is that normal?

thanks a lot to amarullz for providing aroma installer, and thanks to nightshack0 I have taken his installer and modded to work according to my need but dont think that I have just copied and pasted the installer
had you ever feel that another galaxy s variant's forum have a ics rom which suits all your need but you cannot flash it because it is not yet ported to your device but now all this will not happen again with this patch you can install which ROM you want to flash there will be no boundation for you.
if you are getting status 7 or getprop error then a little work from your side is needed
extract the rom to a folder then go to /extracted folder/META - INF/com/Google/Android
from there open updater-script and remove all getprop lines
come back to META - INF folder and delete all three files
zip the file and flash it in recovery
NOTE:- to edit updater script use jota text editor(android), notepad++(windows)

this patch will let you flash other I9000 or t959 roms I have not tried it on other variant but you can try and let me know if it works, I have tried to flash a nexus s rom and it was not flashing so just flash and let me know there is no harm no soft brick no hard brick just physical button will not work until you flash this patch or another rom

update:- flashed fascinate rom by editing updater script and without resigning got it booted up but it cleared my efs folder so was not getting any network coverage, I got very depressed tried cleared data restore nandroid but nothing works then I thought about efs and with the backup I copy imei files to efs folder and after reboot I got coverage now I will not flash any fascinate rom just for testing but I can say that fascinate rom are working

just some compatibility fixes for the install. Everything else was remained untouched from the original i9000 rom.
Though camera will have to be fixed if anyone wants to take a whack at it.

Changelog
Version 2 - Fixed low power mode charging animation. Changed all P7510 to P7310 in build.prop except fingerprint. Rooted out-of-the-box.
Version 1 - First release. The only things changed is kernel, kernel modules and one line added build.prop (to fix screen rotation).
Instructions
- Flash with Clockwork recovery (I use 6.0.0.8 from the CM9 thread but most versions should work).
- Remember to wipe!
- For me the first boot is with completely black screen but I can hear the boot sound. After a while it reboots and this time the screen is on and the bootanimation can be seen. No idea if it will do the same on all devices. Do not panic, just wait it and it should reboot (at least it does for me).
- Compass does not work correctly, likely due to the different screen rotation on our device but it never worked in official 3.2 anyway so I guess we're used to it not working.
- HDMI is 90 degrees rotated.
Everything done at your own risk, as usual...

I used the ICS kernel source (GT-P7510_ICS_Opensource_Update2.zip) from Samsung and compiled it using the supplied samsung_p5wifi_defconfig without doing any changes. Seems like all the p5/p5wifi bits are in place in the p4/p4wifi kernel source.
I've tried to keep it as clean as possible. I'm sure others will root, deodex and tweak it later.
I might do one for the P7300 using the italian P7500 firmware if time allows.

Stupid question: the screen shot indicates that device id is p7510. Would that confuse some apps, market, or CWM recovery, or flashable zips ?

I don't think it will be a problem. As I wrote before I tried to keep it as clean as possible only doing the bare minimum of changes needed. I'm sure we will soon see tweaked versions.

i have istalled the 4.2.1 that is transplanted from the u8800pro of shendu. everything is so good except the wifi and unfortunately wifi is really important for me . i argue that when everybody adds fuel, the flames rise high. what i said is this one http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=269791&uk=1762123712 i have to say this one is really good,it is worth for you to try once.
i am so sorry that i do not get more things about the rom for you. now it is the u8800's rom. it is ported from u8800pro of shendu. i do not cheat anyone. the only bug is wifi that i found. it is using dzo's kernal. my aim is getting help ,so there is no need i cheat anyone. if you don't use wifi,the rom is just suitbale for you .please trView attachment 1708643

Please put more information, a post to a link is almost nothing!!
Why should I install this (supposed) ROM?
you should put more information about what you are sharing otherwise perhaps the correct place would be General area and not development.
Also, wifi is one of the most important features in a smartphone. Without this is pretty much useless. (in my opinnion)
now it can install in the u8800, i have tested it, the only bug is wifi .

i am sorry , i am not always in the xda ,so i do not know some orders , the rom is ported from u8800pro . now the only bug is wifi that i found. the other everything is ok. i do not cheat anyone.

i really do not know what i should put . it's the truth that the only bug is wifi.i have tested ,everything is ok except the wifi.

So if it is really working on normal u8800 I will make new thread with some informations and I will try fix WiFi but I need source to fix WiFi.

Ok, Just try to improve your OP and share the most information that you can: screenshots, what is working and not working, your experience about battery life, etc...
Maybe you can't change, but this thread should be on general discussion.

I'm going to test the rom and hope someone can solve the wifi.
A question? Is need to change the partition size?
My partitions are already resized and honestly I can't revert to original ones.
Tried many times and the phone simply won't accept it.
- Well, just installed this rom and is booting ATM and the boot screen is Cyanogenmod.......
- Starts in Chinese so we need to know the way to change the language (its easy)
- No Google store nor gapps
- I know wifi is not working but won't even turn on
- Kernel is [email protected] #98
- Everywhere showing as U8800pro
This is CyanogenMod rom JB and I was thinking that was an official U8800pro ported to U8800...
Indeed looks promissing if someone could fix the wifi. Hope someone does.
