Same here.... I had a UK spec 32GB White 8010 delivered yesterday (took me ages to source a UK model) and am eagerly awaiting for the correct ROM to be pushed out.
Just a rumor...
Hi,
I have heard that there will not be oficial JB for the N8010.
Does anybody have heard something?
Thanks.

samsung doesn't want to mess with us :fingers-crossed:
Haven't tried the UK version, but I have had no issues with any 8000 ROMs on my 8010 (including the German build), just have to switch the governor to on demand with setcpu, and in the case of stock based ROMs get rid of the stock email and replace with gapps version if you want exchange.

As a quick resurection of this thread, I did exactly this - german n8000 firmware on my n8010 (uk).
It works fine except for the cellular X bottom right. I never changed governor, nor is it rooted.
However I no longer seem to be able to flash n8010 firmware....
Have others been able to go back?

It didn't - I hit problems with flashing tz.img & other sections (I could prune manually to allow flash to pass). I'm going to revisit this when there's a new rom out, especially 4.3 based, until then the device is working well enough

Agree with the above. LB2 is the latest, according to the numbering/naming scheme.
this LA1 is latest for europe
If you have LB1/2, i dont think you need to update, unless you have any problem perticularly in Modem.
b'coz PDA remains same for almost country, some country needs own baseband for better tuning. If you are not satified with modem, you can just update modem rather thn full ROM too.
When LB2 was not out for india, i was using LA4 from germany, i was experiencing call drop, so forced to use modem from old indian ROM.

just saw the update via Kies...will be updating a bit later.....anyone can list the advantages?
Tried looking for it via OTA, did not find it. Connected via Kies, and did find this upgrade.
All went smoothly - despite using a Mac and running Windows Kies under Parallels. I hope that reassures anyone who was wondering if that route would work - it does, and the note is now running well with XEU LA1.
Comes on faster, launching seems quick and and Go Launcher EX seems smoother.

XXLRK is still 4.0.4
Downloaded XXLRK today on my german gt-n7000 in India. Still 404
The changelog for XXLRK
The large 24MB OTA update does not change the version of Android, but the Galaxy brings touch to firmware version XXLRK and the performance of the Galaxy increases note. The search will remain intact! But there is a slightly modified keyboard with large distances and significantly improved writing comfort
Will this OTA kill root access? or should I rather use Mobile Odin?

I did the OTA update altho i did see it in the samfirmware website as well .. i wonder, could this update also fix the brickbug samsung said would fix ? Altho i suspect they would make a big fuss about the update if this was the one which fixed the brickbug, eh ?
I have it. Its 4.0.4
However i want to root with cwm is there a cf kernel for xxlrk?
Anyone noticed in XXLRK, power_profile.xml is mentioning battery capacity as 1650 instead of actual value 2500? decompiled framework-res.apk and under res>xml you can find this file. I don't know if battery usage calculation can give bad result because of this? or is it ok? Anyone with advanced knowledge pls.
Asian 4.04 Update
Most of Asia received the update to 4.04 in the last few days. I am in Thailand but there was no OTA update but the update was on Kies. Since updating I am still wondering what it was supposed to do as I cannot see any obvious changes except that I have lost root. I thought it might be an update to keep us safe from the brickbug but who knows? Anyone able to shed any light on what the update is for?

I use the Thai stock ICS 4.0.4 but I don't think there are differences, but this is only a regional 4.0.4 update.
And I didn't see any post here describing something new in these end-of-july-stock-ROMs.
I kept root the long way (coming from GB rooted, and installing the new version with Mobile Odin Pro, adding Notecore 13 later).
When you switch to a safe kernel you do not have to hope for an official safe update anymore.

Not sure if it's just me, but I noticed there are still some wifi issues with DXLP8.
WIFI works very well in general. However, if I left the tablet idle for long period of time, eg an hour. Then I try to use it again, I would not be able to browse internet even though the WIFI status shows connected. I have to toggle off the WIFI and reconnect to get it back to work.
Did any one experience similar problem?
Thanks

I have to agree with finding it curious that there's nothing official for the N801X series yet. I personally would've thought it'd be first, as it has the least that needs to be changed (no 3G or LTE radio and thus no telephony functions).
Doesn't really bother me, as I'm running Team Union without issues (thanks to ondemand governor). Just odd.

These are the CSC's for Germany and all of them are associated to a carrier.
EPL, VIA, DBT, DTO, DTM, VD2
Typically CSC's for unlocked devices in the EU all start with "X."
XEU = UK, XEB = Belgium, XEN = Netherlands, XEF = France, etc.
They started using BTU for unlocked devices in the UK recently so maybe DBT has become the German "open." But in all Samsung's guides it's still listed as mobilcom debitel. I'm not familiar with the German carriers and have no idea who they are. Could they be Samsung's German distributor? If so DBT could be both tied to a carrier and open at the same time.

So far all the ROMs I've seen (and definitely those I've tried) have full S-pen support. Since the whole purpose of this tablet is the S-pen, I'd be surprised to find a ROM that was lacking it's functionality (unless there's a bug in the ROM).

The 4.1.1 DBT-firmware ist for all German devices. Have a look at samfirmware.com, there ist only one German version (4.0.4 and 4.1.1) with the DBT code.
I definitely have an unbranded N8000 and it has and had a DBT firmware.
Mobilcom Debitel is a provider without own network (network carriers are Telekom, Vodafore, o2 and E-Plus) and the device is not distributed via Mobilcom/Debitel.

They update firmware to each country with adaptable wifi modem in some cases but if you are in Europe it would be okay to update to this firmware if you don't want to wait and then get the firmware for your country when it is released.

I updated to the german firmware using the odin method described in another thread and it worked great, didnt trip the counter or change the device status. Data and apps were intact. all and all I dont see any reason to not do it.
if you want the canadian release then you can simply install it over top the german one once it becomes available but I doubt that there will be much difference.
You might have to WIPE tho, since the German and Canadian ROMs have different CSCs.
Someone please confirm.

Using ROM's meant for other regions isn't an issue and a good way to get the lastest fixes and updated versions of s/w like S Note. The only reason folks in the U.S. had challenges was because they were using ROMs (N8010) not meant for their h/w (N8013). There's a N8010 4.1.2 ROM that just came out. You should be able to use it with no issues. When the Canadian JB ROM is released just install it (via Odin) over the German ROM and you'll be back to where you would have been anyway while being able to use JB in the mean time.
Here's the newest 4.1.2 N8010 JB ROM...
http://hotfile.com/dl/190513084/ece...GT-N8010-DBT-N8010XXUCMA5-1357980235.zip.html
Here's how to install it using Odin...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048213
Another thing Canadian users should be aware before updating is that, there is NO Official 4.0.4 Stock ROM to fall back to. So if you ever need to send the unit back to the shop (before a Canadian ROM arrives online), you're SOL.
This is on top of whatever issues flashing a ROM with a different CSC might cause.
I have the German rom on my Canadian note as far as I can tell there are absolutely 0 issues with having a different CSC. Although it's true that there is no official 4.04 I'm not very convinced that would be a problem in the event of a return I doubt any of the retailers in Canada would know enough to even check what firmware you have installed.
I can confirm that you do not have to wipe data your system status remains official.
Frankly I'm not even sure that installing an official rom would void the warranty even if it is from another region assuming of course you are installing an 8010 ROM on an 8010 device

No. The only file that's being updated via Odin is the PDA/MD5 file which doesn't affect user settings, apps, or what's stored on the device. Occasionally you'll see a widget break or disappear off the home screen because it’s been superseded by one with newer functionality. That's the only casualty I've experienced in bouncing between ROMs from different regions. You'll also see regionally specific things pop-up. The Italian N8000 ROM had a pasta eating game pre-installed on it. Some things don't work because of regional exclusions like the EU Video Hub knows when it's being used on a non-EU device. Those you can just disable in Application Manager.
