I know currently it's only offered on Google Play, but any word on if they will increase their availability to third party vendors (Best Buy, Office Depot...)?
Nobody knows?

So I have a pre order with Staples and they just called to tell me it is delayed until the first week of June!!??? Has anyone else experienced this? Apparently Best Buy and Futureshop have this problem as well...

If you are in eastern Canada than no.
if you are in western Canada, well i bought mine in the store in person, pre ordered it a week and a half in advance and walked in to memory express a week ago on the 3rd and picked it up.
They got the exclusive first from asus instead of NCIX.com the normal asus release partner in Canada. the other Canadian release partners that SHOULD have it by now are listed on asus's website for this tablet @ http://www.asustablets.us/. Last time i looked bestbuy, future shop and staples were not release partners with asus.
when my co worker checked today there was still plenty of stock and a sale on the version with the keyboard special for $519 i think which is what i paid.
www.memoryexpress.com delivery via them is pretty good, if you haven't heard of them they have been around for 10+ years in Alberta and have pretty much eliminated any small time computer shops via their buying power/size except the futureshop/bestbuy/staples type stores out here.
hope that helps.
kan.
and yes i love it so far, first tablet, 3rd android device of mine, (n1, htc amaze and now this)
Ordered mine from tigerdirect.ca. Got it last Monday

Update:
Just to let everyone know that I picked up my tablet yesterday and not June, as I was told. So call your local retailer now and you may be pleasantly surprised!

Hi there. I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't really find such a thread.
Coming back to the topic. I am thinking of getting Nexus 4 from US through my cousin who lives there. As I browsed the SHOP NOW page at Google play store, it showed the price $ 349.00 for 16 gb version. What I want to know is that:
- what will be the final price of the device including the TAXES & SHIPPING to Stanton, California?
- and as Google has mentioned a few countries where it will officially launch the device and people can order it online. Does it mean the actual product will ship from the US to (lets say) Australia? Which means the shipping will dramatically increase? Will it?
Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on it.
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone please reply
I can't answer you about US taxes, but when I bought my Nexus 7 direct from Google play (I'm in UK) they were dispatched within the UK. Well from Northern Ireland, but it's still technically a part of the UK. The delivery charge was £10, which is typical here in the UK. I'm sure they are dispatched locally if they are purchased within the officially released countries, or it wouldn't really make logistical sense for every individual order to be dispatched from the US worldwide.
So, if Australia was an official country, it would be dispatched from there, or somewhere close enough.

Appreciated. Thank you very much for your response.
As Makaijin has said before, it's not shipped from the US all over the globe but rather the local distribution centres. For the U.K. it's from the U.K. but here in Australia, stuff gets shipped from Singapore (it was for the Nexus 7 at least). Thank God Australia's an official launch country .
Ahan, Any idea about the TAXES one has to pay? As in, how much (tax) would one pay for this phone in the US?
and what generally are shipping charges in the US?
Going off the Nexus 7 @ $250 I paid $283 out the door. I believe California has 7-8% sales tax so that should be around $28 in tax plus I recall 2 day shipping on the Nexus 7 was $12. I'd say your out the door would be right at or just over $400.
As the title states, I'm trying to figure out if I will be able to grab one at the store on the 30th or will it only be shipping on the 30th?

I think its only going to be in stock to order online on the 30th.
Pretty certain they said in stores on the 30th and available for online purchase (not preorder) on the 30th.
Most stores already have stock (thus how some were already able to get them from OfficeMax).

Yeah they are staying instock, and if true they should have the shipments either on the 24-26th in store and possibly on display on the 26th as the earliest. Just from what that note on officemax was sent out.
Its more of a question will you be able to get the 32Gig in store... I would hope so but I didn't want to chance it ordered from BB get my free shipping and delivery on the 30th
I think you had to pay for $15 express shipping to get it on the 30th. I'd do the same but I'm going to be out of town next week, so I'll have to buy it locally. I'm sure Best Buy and stuff will have both models. I can't see them leading with just type again.
We're getting very, very concerning news over here in Europe. Someone please say it'll also debut on Play store come next week, Germany, UK, Spain...

Discounted, Silver Member. Sorry was $6 for express.
Some stores now have it in stock; I picked up a 32GB from BestBuy in ATL at lunchtime.
As the person above stated some best buys already have them in stock. Look at the product page on best buy.com and put store pickup. Once you enter your zip it will tell you who does/doesn't have them

Will the in-store ones be Wi-Fi only? I was looking at getting one of the old 7's but I wanted data and they could only be ordered online...just curious

I don't know if the data ones are available yet, online or otherwise. I picked up a 32gb one from Best Buy during lunch in New York. They're in stock at most NYC stores.
I bought the new nexus 7 today at Best Buy as well.
16GB WiFi model. $250 after taxes

Oddly, all the best buys in the bay area were out of stock as of last night except for Marin...
Got two at staples. $199, have had a tf700 for a while but it is for sale. Nexus 7 blows it away.

Game Stop has them, used my PUR points for $25 off coupon and some credit yesterday.
Got my 32gb from Best Buy on Friday, I was the only person I saw there buying one besides one other person. The guy said they had a crap load of them too. Sacramento btw.
Walmart had the 32G in stock yesterday at one local store.
Didn't check others.
You know what? I bet a lot of people are going to be pissed come Tuesday when they're supposed to be released and there are none available cause we bought them all.

I see the LTE model is available, via order at least, through Best Buy and the Play Store. Are there any rumors of it being released to other retailers in the near future?
I'd love to see it at Walmart to take advantage of a cheap replacement plan.
I picked mine up locally at my Best Buy store. They only had 2 in stock but at least they had them in the store.
I work in the Telstra Partner channel and am waiting on the AU pricing, colours and availability.

The squeezable new HTC U11 is a legitimate competitor to Samsung, LG and Apple's latest handsets. And it's making itself even more appealing with an aggressively low price tag.
In Australia, the HTC U11's recommended retail price will be $999 — making it a full $200 cheaper than the equivalent Samsung Galaxy S8 or $270 cheaper than the equivalent iPhone 7 Plus.

The HTC U11 will be available from the following Australian retailers; Optus, Virgin Mobile Australia, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman from 5th June, and from Telstra on 4th July! htc.com/au"
Picked my U11 up on Wednesday from JB hi-fi.
I wanted Solar Red but that isn't coming to Australia, and JB didn't have Silver which was my next choice.
TBH the Brilliant black was my least favorite colour but the device is so good I never look at the back of the device.
