[MOD-CM9] Lockscreen Vibration Remover - Galaxy Ace S5830 Android Development

Hi all, some users find the vibration in the loockscreen annoying.
In CM9 there isn't a setting to disable it, but editing the framework you can disable it.
I have created patch for the RC1-RC2 by MaclawStudios and for RC4-4.1 by Wayland_ACE
How to install it:
Download the file from:
Here for RC1
Here for RC2
Here for RC4-4.1
Copy it into the sdcard
Go in recovery mode and flash it
How to restore the vibration:
Download the file from:
Here for RC1
Here for RC2
Here for RC4-4.1
Copy it into the sdcard
Go in recovery mode and flash it
Note: the first boot can take a while. After the boot will start the optimizing applications.
Flash at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage or brick
When there are new release I add new patch.
CREDITS: I have created the patch with this guide.

Can you make one for CM10? can't seem to find it.

Multi-boot
In fact, users in China use the U8800, multi-system has been used for a long time.
So, now I will use my broken English to tell you how to use multi-system
First, you need The extra two partitions in the 4G space. you could use twosys-partition.zip to get The extra two partitions 15&16
download partition package:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=787404&stc=1&d=1321675310
And
The second system-specific recovery system
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=787413&stc=1&d=1321675310
put the twosys-partition.zip and you like rom's zip into Sdcard
rename the recovery_4.0.1.5_en_sys2.img to recovery2.img , then place it to /cust
Boot into recovery, flash this package directly, same as flashing a ROM.
After flashing go to advanced options, choose to reboot to recovery.
Go into recovery again, flash this package again directly, same as flashing a ROM.now you will have The extra two partition 15 and 16
OK, let's flash two system into you phone
Go into recovery again, flash you like rom's zip
boot into first system, you could use RootExplorer access /cust, rename the recovery.img to recovery1.img, rename the boot.img to boot1.img,rename the recovery2.img to recovery.img.
reboot you system into recovery, now you recovery is second system recovery, you could flash the 100911-cm7,it will auto flash into second system.
reboot system, you will into second system (CM7)
if you want change you system to first, you could use RootExplorer access /sbin/gk, you will found some .sh files,Execution the 8-ChangeSys will auto rename all
img file then auto reboot to first system.
you could copy the 8-changesys.sh to any place let you change system easy.
restore offical partition : download
Important:only the 100911-CM7 can flash into second system, other ROM only flash into first system
please backup your data, because you will lost all data in phone

Wow, that's amazing
good job ,THX very much
Awesome Work. It reboots every 2 minutes almost exactly. Which is probably a good thing, too much awesome at once may make my head explode. I ran ADB logcat for you if that helps:
http://pastebin.com/kZddgHpN
I'm no dev but it looks like something is wrong with the DHCP setup or rmnet0 (which i believe is related to the mobile data). I'm sure you know more. Once again, it's 2 minutes of pure awesome, then a reboot lol. Stockwell/Neopeek may know more.
Okay finally had some time today to look at this rom and I was close with the rmt_storage thing.. the 2 minute rebooting thing is because the huawei rpc service (system/bin/oem_rpc_svc) isn't being started during boot (this calls rmt_storage periodically so that's what threw me off). If you manually call it after booting then it won't reboot.
I'm not sure yet why the rpc service won't start during boot though.. might need to look at the boot logs a bit more.

[ROM][4.1.2][AOSP] LANIGHT (Project eXtreme Butter) [v8.5_Datadata/v6.0_Nodatadata]

This Rom is also available for Samsung GT-I9000 variant from HERE.
There is also a port for X-Bean from GT-I9000 from HERE.
This is it folks. If you think you've seen fast, you're in for a surprise! Please NO derivative work without permission.
LANIGHT is a pure AOSP build, meaning it is NOT CM or built from CM source, so please do NOT ask for CM features. However, it does use device/hardware files from CM10 and rest from Nexus S.. so any device specific problems that is in CM may or may not be in LANIGHT. If you don't like AOSP, move on.
I will rarely post on the thread mostly because of well known reason. It is a development thread, if you can't flash or download apps(Gmail and such) from market or simpler tasks, YOU ARE spamming the thread. Help yourselves by flashing stock firmware from Kies. Remember, I can't fix stupid or lazy. Please read the whole OP and search before you start typing. There has been NO bug that i have faced since my first release except the ringtone problem(4.2)(SOULTION) which has been solved with the latest release(5.2). If you have WiFi problems, flash anything 2.0 and above or below 5.2 (For 5.2 FLASH THIS.) because there is no telling what is the issue, i didn't face that issue so i don't know unless you provide log.

EDIT: Not sure about the latest since he been using LVM partitioning on 08/20 onwards? I'm not sure this rom is compatible with it? If it is then its all the reason for me to support this rom till the HB exist.
EDIT EDIT: I might have to steal some of your init.d tweaks from your MIUI rom for my next version

yea i wiped several times, ill try kernels and modem combos again again

No, listen just flash JVT or whatever modem you used to use on your previous JB build. Why are you swapping kernels? I don't understand. Did you have this problem before?

This is an old kernel and i choosed it for cautious purposes. Please don't poke around and cause yourself problems. Flash X-Bean or CM10 or AOKP first and try this rom. May fix it.
About the Ext SD card. I don't have an External SD card to test so that's why i put in the op it's untested. Not necessarily kernel related.
i did flash a modem i used with CM10 and wifi still couldnt turn on, and USB mount of ext sdcard problem was with kernel it came with right out the box. thats why i swapped kernels, but yea ill let u know which datadata kernels i use. just gotta find those kernels. havent kept up with all the new stuff and just saw this at the top of the forum
i been flashing this phone for years so i have a lil bit of clue of what im doing. i can usually solve some of my problems

I have downloaded the ROM from original site and flashed as per your recommendations in STALLION thread. It's great. I have some queries.
1. There were five patches whereas you have given seven.
2. How do you lock the screen? Is it only to be locked with POWER button. I use third party screen lock app tied up with long press search button which is not working here as this function is tagged with camera. Any alternative for screen lock?

1. Sorry, i made a mistake, there are only 6 of them, not 7. I dont know why u have only 5, and it doesnt realy matter.
2. I dont use any buttons to lock, screen timeout locks itself, or i use power button, but if u want, u can use search button, by doing this:
System Settings>System>Button>MI button>Trigger Toggle>Lock

I installed this rom yesterday from the chinese sources, you don't need all the 6 patches. There are 5 update patches and the 6th is the one you need, this is the final patch that includes ALL the other ones (20130101_U8800Pro-MIUI2.3.7 by FCS fix 20130104-12_update.zip)
to OP:There are 4 other files that came with the rom and i don't see them in the post. They are Sakura's Atmel screen fix, geno's gapps, flash player for this rom and the new miui compass that was not included in the original rom.If you don't have them tell me to upload them
If you want to put power button to search button go with root explorer to system/usr/keylayout open qwerty.kl with text editor, find key 217 and change it from ''CAMERA'' to ''POWER' and in the same line from ''WAKE DROPPED'' to ''WAKE'' .Save and reboot. Now pressing the search button closes the screen, long pressing it brings up the power menu.
People this is the best MIUI so far and the latest one with final release date 14/1/2013,Everything works. This is a special rom started by Geno, then Hay modded it,then Ry09iu modded it farther and lastly Sakura combined the mods of all of them together with his own and released this amazing rom.you got to try it

be sure you are on official gingerbread or gb based custom rom.
boot into recovery,reboot recovery
wipe data/factory
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
wipe battery stats
format system
reboot into recovery
Do the same wipes again for a second time
install the rom
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install ''20130101_U8800Pro-MIUI2.3.7 by FCS fix 20130104-12_update.zip''
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install atmel fix zip (if you are on atmel)
reboot normally
reboot into recovery and install geno's gapps
reboot normally play a bit with the new rom
reboot normally again
THIS IS THE BEST WAY
You also need to replace some chinese system apps with the english ones,i will upload them later with instructions
and also replace some files like hosts, gps etc.i will upload them too.
please OP add these to the first post because there will be confusion!

Click to collapse
Thanks it works.

To korekore.
Great post. Very supportive.
I agree to you with first point. Five patches replaced by one single patch and I am using the same.
I will surely try your method OF search key lock /power button. I will surely try that.
Lately there are four more files of which I am using the gapps lite. My touch screen send to be working ok and I have not flashed the atmel kernel mod. BTW how to know whether I have a ATMEL or SYNAPTICS hardware?
Lastly waiting for Your English version apks.
Great ROM. Dream of similar JB ROM.
Thank you.

On your phone dialer you dial *#*#2846579#*#*
A menu will appear, then you go to project menu->upgrade->touchscreen firmware upgrade->touch screen version query and it will show you if it is ATMEL or SYNAPTICS.
Be aware however that this menu does not appear on all custom roms. For example in CM7 if you try it, nothing will happen.
For what is this FIX?
For me the 4 button does not lighting

That fix improves speed, stability, adds V6 SuperCharger script, improves power saving, etc.
No button backligt is not a bug, but you can "fix" it by doing this:
Download any root exploring app, go to sys>class>leds>button-backlight> edit it like text, and write 255>save it

Yes,I tried it too on MIUI but like CM7 it doesnt work in these roms. It works on official/stock rom 100%, i checked it on my official rom before installing this MIUI.
If you have a recovery backup of the stock/official rom you can restore the official rom and try it there, it will work there 100%.
Which kernel to b flashed for this Rom?

if anyone use it let's tell us if this rom is for one day or for often use and someone please post screenshots
korekore1 can you upload the four files you were talking about before and the final patch?

[ROM][4.4.4] Vanir - resurrection [security update]

Trying to keep Vanir up-to-date for our otherwise dead phone . Fix minor bugs, add minor features, a bit of compiler optimization.
I'm not updating the whole rom here! Development of branch cm-11.0 for both Vanir and CyanogenMod has stopped, so there won't be any surprises here!
Bugs:
- adb over usb doesn't work in android (but works over wifi and in recovery it works normally, so no problem)
- clear notifications icon missing when switching from quicksettings
- call recording doesn't work
- synapse doesn't work
ART:
Apart from 2 inconveniences, ART works and is fast
- optizing one app on reboot - it's a bit annoying, but otherwise harmless (happens only sometimes)
- immediately after switching to ART phone won't sleep (power button doesn't work. Just leave it for a while (15-30 minutes) and let it settle - once the screen turns of by itself, everything wil be normal
Deep sleep issue (if exists):
Check using Better Battery Stats or any tool of your choice. If it is caused by Google Play Services, simply deny them wakelock priviledge: Go to Settings/Security/Privacy Guard/Google Play Services and set Keep awake -> denied. It won't hurt sync, no worries.
Feature requests:
- Smart Pulldown from Omnirom Done
- NonIntrusive incoming call screen (@force)

Hi!
New experimental build. It is _fast_ Added more optimization flags from ArchiDroid. It still has the location FC issue though, so if it's a problem for you, stay with stable.

I have a problem with hotspot shield vpn
It won't start
And says
Af openvpn inti. Faild

Yes, load tun module. Either via KoControl app or from terminal: su and then "modprobe tun"

NT settings are old and mess with the kernel. Besides it's a ROM app, so you can't just take any version - it had to be built with the ROM. I don't support it.
Attached cm file manager to post 1 - try it (just drop it to /system/app as it doesn't seem to install the normal way)
@TheSteve87 what exactly do you need from nt app? Maybe I'll be able to add it into synapse.

i mainly use two settings, the battery voltage (?) control to have a faster charge and the audio gain options to higher the earbuds/speakers' volume
btw novathor settings are not that old, i actually extracted the apk from epirex's latest cm11 build and pushed it to /system on your vanir with no issues at all at least on the build before the beta version

Yeah... I can see this ramdisk stuff causes a bit of trouble. I already have an idea for 'smart' installer, that will autodetect system version and install correct ramdisk for the user.

And it'll only get better I almost nailed the correct compiler flags, so the next stable version will have the speed of beta (or more ), but of course without the NetworkLocationService bug.

Hi, my friend.
I've seen a known bug in CM11 derivated roms like this one. This is related to systemupdate service, the rom tryies to connect to cm software update but couldn't and causes a lot of aware.
I made this script and ran it at every boot
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
pm disable com.google.android.gms/.update.SystemUpdateService
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateActivity
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver

pm disable com.google.android.gsf/com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver
pm disable com.google.android.gsf/com.google.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
It make the system wake ups almost dissapear. You could try to put it in your code if you think is correct.

No bug i found. change kernel and check
i am also using this rom for a week or so. clean flashed. even formatted the storage before installation. so far this is one of the best roms i have ever used on santoni. and i can say that i have used almost every one of them. great battery life, great performance.
Sorry for the inconvenience, it was not the fault of the rom, it was because I had activated the option of digital well-being, I deactivated it and now it works great

I restored my last backup, which was working before, but it gave me the same result - bootloop! Anyone experiences the same or any idea where to search or how to fix this? I used Magisk by the way...

You mean Migrate? I use it also to restore Userapps. I think thats not the reason .
What do you wipe for clean flash?
I wipe everything except Internal and SD Card.
Then Flash Rom and Gapps. Reboot and do Google Stuff.
After that go back to Recovery and flash Magisk and Migrate Backup zip.
Have no Problems . Try it!
