Hello,
yesterday i played around with the nexus awhile and before i went to sleep it showed me a battery percentage of about 40 percent. today i wanted to turn on the device but it was completely discharged. it seems that the battery indicator doesn't behave correctly on my device. is there somebody else who has the same problem?
EDIT:
Sorry, I missed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015728

I noticed this a couple of days ago: I was in a place with no 3g nor wifi so I decided to switch O7 off. In the evening I switched it on and battery was empty.
I tried again yesterday with the same results. What"s using this phone while it's off?
Are you sure it is actually flat?
My battery has a problem, if i turn the phone off and then on it will show that my battery is empty and want to turn on battery saver. If i keep turning it off and on and mess with the battery contacts it reads properly.
Just a thought....
This is because the battery is cold, let it warm up and it will display the correct level

This happens after being on for days, it's not to do with temperature.

It also happens to me. Not usually but once every 1/2 weeks. I've been looking for a solution and the only one i found is switching off and on again until the battery level is ok. However i have to say that this has been happening since i installed 7740 update, so maybe the problem is that.
not actually drains...
I think the battery did not darain.
It is just the battery level is not displayed correctly; I had the same (or similar) problem. I switched off the phone while the battery was at 80% and the next morning when I switched it on I got the message "the battery is low..." and the wrong battery level displayed.
I kept it on for hours and it worked nicely; I noticed the battery info displayed 1% of residual charge and 7 hours of expected workng time...something weird
Suddenly after hours of usage the battery icon started to work properly.

Exactly the same as me. I'm on my 2nd Omnia handset now (warranty replacement) and this one does the same so I assume it's the battery that's faulty.
If you leave it on long enough the battery meter slowly increases over time until it reaches the true value.
Just installed 8107 upgrade via cab; let's see if problem have been noticed before and solved now
I noticed this problem also. After the mangu upgrade it is not there any more.
For me it seems that th eproblem laid in the firmware..
funny, I'm not the unique
Today I've tried to make an hard reset to see if the problem would have been solved. I'm on Mango 7740, tonight I'll try to switch off the mobile phone after charging.

I did a hard reset, OS update and then a handset replacement and the problem is still there.
I'm convinced it's a fault with the actual battery.
Ok, I yesterday evening I switched of the smartphone for some hours... Then I turned it on and I saw the"popup" which told me the battery was low.
I left the device on, with 3g on for all the night and this morning I found the battery level as it was before yesterday evening
I confirm the battery do not drains when the smartphone is turned off!
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
As I already said, this is because the battery gets cold when you switch off your phone, and it then appear drained. After heating up again it will recover it's charge.
Hello all,
Having some strange issues with the battery level reading on my Xoom. I plugged it in yesterday after it died and was startled to notice that 15 minutes later it was reading 46%. I unplugged it, played with it for a while, and the meter seemed to be behaving normally, so when it got to about 40% I plugged it back in.
Now it's at 100%. It has been there for about 12 hours now including about 2 hours of use. Plugging it back in briefly while turned off, the LED indicator took the normal amount of time to show fully charged, so I don't think it's an issue with the battery itself. It generally takes me a few days to run my Xoom down completely, so I thought I would ask... has anyone experienced this before, and did it resolve itself after a full battery cycle?
Also, if it doesn't start reporting correctly on its own, what options do I have other than installing CWR and wiping battery stats? I've left it stock so far and I'd prefer to keep it that way.
I charged my battery when it was at about 49% overnight with the wall charger and unplugged it when it was full. I thought it was completely off. I booted it up today and I get the battery specs in the picture below. Does anyone know what happened? I have the screen brightness pretty low too.
The up time of the tablet is 1:17:53 but the screen time on says 2h 56m 22s. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm brand new to android really and I could have also read this all wrong. If so tell me so, lol. Thanks.
Hey Guys,
this morning I woke up to a dead phone again. Which was odd, because i charged it to 100% a couple of hours before I went to sleep.
When I turned it on and plugged it into the charger I immediately went into the battery usage log and took these screenshots.
Now, I heard of problems with the N4, the battery not being the best and all, but is it normal for the phone to discharge in that time by just lying around?
Also, when I plugged it in, the displayed battery level climbed somewhat fast. It had 1% when I plugged it in and 10% a minute after that. While I write this, it's at 20% already.
Is this anything out of the ordinary or am I just imagining it?

Have you installed any new apps lately?
I'm betting you have a wakelock that is preventing your phone from entering deep sleep.
Download Better Battery Stats and see if it's wakelock causing it

Let's see... I installed UCCW (not used yet), Light Manager (changed LED settings slightly) and Fast Reboot.
Could the Light Manager be the problem? I'll go ahead and check those battery stats anyway...
EDIT: Oh, I also recently set up face unlock (stock feature) Should not be a problem though, since it's not an additional app, right?
So, after running on battery for a while I took these. Can you make any sense of it?
EDIT: Wanted to check the stats again after I had on battery for the night and it was dead again. Unfortunately the stats seem to be deleted when the phone restarts (or maybe when it's plugged in).
Hey all
I've noticed something of late with my OP6T. When I charge it to 100% and take it off the charger, it drops ~5% very quickly seemingly without any wakelocks/alarms that cause it. Does anyone else experience this? Is there something I can do about this or is the battery just on it's way out? It's a little strange as the device is only 1yr old. I bought it around 9 Nov.
Here are some of the screens from BBS attached. As you can see it doesn't look out of the ordinary.
Another strange thing is that once it reaches around ~95% then it will start to act as normal, so it takes MUCH longer to go from 95 downwards.
What's going on here?
Other things tried:
- root and run battery calibrate
- factory flash fastboot images
- use custom kernel
All show the same issue so far. This did not happen at all until recently. Any help would be appreciated!
UPDATE: I let the battery drain completely and had the phone self-power off, then powered it up a couple more times until the "Battery too low, charge before use" sign started coming up. Once that happened, I plugged the phone into a slow charger, turned it on and left it to charge. I plugged it out when I went to bed (at 100%) and it seems to be all good now. Woke up 6 hours later with the phone at 98%.
Just in case anyone else is having the issue, give that a try.

Battery percentage is a estimate. Discharging it fully and charging it only makes the estimate a bit more precise. I remember on my old phone that it could drop 40 percent in 15 minutes and when you put the device away in your pocket it could go up about 5 percent.
