Q:ad2sdx - amarullz data to sd-ext - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

is merruk2.5 support this script,
ill tried this for 5 times but i have no luck,,,
i have no link2sd or anything about something2d,,
any1 have any idea,,
i been tried this for repencis ROM and KERNEL i was very successeful,,
but merruk gave me a BANGHEAD!!!

No, I have tried it on merruk kernel and doesn't work. Hm, the kernel that support that script is repencis's kernel, so you can made it works. I also have tried on stock+repencis kernel and works perfectly. So you may to use repencis's kernel if you want to make the script works.

capt. please close,, tnx

Do any Kernels Support Linux Installer?

I've tried most of the kernels on this forum, though I haven't found one that "Linux Installer" plays nice with. Each time I try it greets me with a messages about the kernel not supporting LOOP features, and a lack of EXT2 or EXT3 support . Anybody know of a kernel or anything I can do to enable these?
Thanks!
I'm not sure how well it would work, but for ext2/3 you could compile just the module then, assuming thats all it needs, try using insmod to load it into kernel space

Not saying that you didn't know what I was talking about, but just so that everybody is on the same page;
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-galoula-linuxinstall-tFjz.aspx
I suppose I could do that to try to enable ext2 or 3, but any idea what LOOP is?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16961006
3.3 is out. Please update, and contact me by email if any trouble. [email protected]
Galoula made a huge update; I did all translations and debug. New tutorial, new quick installation guide.
Loop is a feature of Linux kernel; the symbole name you need to activate when you rebuild kernel is:
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_LOOP=y
As of today, most ROM now support it.

Kyriilos's ROM 2.1 with /system, /data and /cache to ext2

as requested by some users:

its the same rom as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957123
but with /data and /cache converted to ext2 filesystem (lagfix).
/system was already /ext2 converted by Kyriilos
also note that this will wipe your /data partition, and do not wipe /data and /cache in recovery
Could you pls make it with the coming 2.2 Version, too

its a misprint! My name is Kyrillos and not Kyriilos
Its done
Because Kyrillos post a version without lagfix, so we can implant apollos "app2sd fix"
[ROM] Kyrillos' ROM v2.2 Gingerbread Edition without lagfix
Lagfix + data2sd (Quadrant score 570 + Lot of space for apps)
EDIT: ITS REAL DONE!
Link
I have got a problem with Kyrillos's ROM 2.2 With Special Lagfix.
After flash every thing is great until I restore apps and reboot phone
system services crush (force close) all the time.
I flash it 4 times (directly form Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal and from original JPF),
every time i obtain the same result ;(
On Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal it's work like a dream.
Anyone have any idea why?
(i post here cuz i can't post in development yet)
How do you restore apps ?
No idea ... but lagfix is very experimental and the way it was done is not the best. Use lagfix to test : your phone may crash.
/system, /data and /cache are converted to ext2 fs : we didnt include any filecheck if the phone was shut down ... ext2 has no journal system and could make android instable in my opinion if the phone is shutdown (like if you remove battery).
Someone may correct me if I am wrong.

I restore apps by My Backup Root and it's always work.
Now I flash normal Kyrillos ROM 2.2 then install Motafoca lagfix and everything works well.
It's supposedly give the same effect but phone works without crushes.
Maybe it's a bug in that ROM or maybe my backuped stuff screw something up.
I really dunno
I installed Kyrillos' Rom 2.2 (Normal Version) yesterday. Really nice...everything is working fine so far. Does anyone know how to take screenshots with this rom? [Back + Home] doesn't work

Try QtABD. It runs on PC and can take screenshots as well.
Edit: Sorry, you think probably of a standalone solution where you don't need a PC.

Yes, that's what I'm searching for. I thought taking screenshots by pressing Back+Home is a Froyo feature. But in this Rom it doesn't work. So if maybee I'll search the Market for a screencapture-app
Hi!
Can't write in dev part so to try here ... after all I am n00b
Installed 2.2 normal and then did lag+app2sd and everything is working nicely ...
I have a question though ... what if I decide to ay usd2.99 for LauncherPro Plus. Can I install it over the LauncherPro that is integrated into this ROM. I tried uninstall and install over but w/o success. It's system app (so it says) and I can't do aything about it. On previous e.g. normal JPF I was able touninstall reinstall LPPro. What did I miss?
Tnx.
LauncherPro Plus is essentially a key unlocking new features in free version, no need to install anything, especially reinstalling launcher.
To remove system app you have to root your phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880) and get acces to system files (Root Explorer, qtadb, adb). Of course if you are removing one launcher, you have to have another already installed.
Nice hearing that apollo's lagfix is running well on kyrillo's 2.2, it's running nice on lestat's 1.1 as well.
Anyway to have all (Cahce\System\Data\ converted to ext2 and also partition the sdcard (apollo5801's lagfix). So in short, how can I have special lagfix + sdcard partitioned?
hi guys,
i think it would be wise to use the experience already earned from galaxy s i9000
from guys like supercurio, darky and hardcore, their work is VERY STABLE as it is heavily tested and proved to do miracles.
no one is using ext2 anymore,
i quote:
"Note: Only lagfixes using EXT4 are robust. Other lagfixes run the risk of data loss on freezing, hard-reboots, or sudden power loss."
they have opted for ext4 , to be more specific:
hardcore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756)
would recommend
DATA_FS=ext4
CACHE_FS=ext4nj
DBDATA_FS=ext4
and he has applied many other tweaks
i dont see why his experience cant be used for the galaxy 3
in addition the link below could be useful

[Q] Sd-ext NOT visible in CWM, how to backup & restore sd-ext?

Hello guys,
I try level best to find the solutions to the problems on my own, but at times like this i have no way other than to bother you.
Here's the problem:
Cannot see the sd-ext partition in the CWM recovery.
Do not get the backup of my sd-ext partition after making backup of the device.
'Restore sd-ext' IS available in 'Advanced Restore' options, but when to use since there's no backup being made.
and so every other problem which may arrive due to this.
Details:
Rom: Jellyblast3.0.4
Kernel: RepencisV7 Final
CWM tried: cwm-madteam-galaxY.zip, CWM_bla_bla.zip, CWMv5-Skin1980-GT-S5360.zip
Everything is in native rfs format
sd-ext is formatted with ext2
Using A2sd by Darktremor
sd-ext IS mounted and working fine(screenshots)
No additional tweaks by me.
Only ten scripts in init.d(attached)
CWM Error Report: ...backing up cache..sd-ext not found..
skipping backup of sd-ext. Creating md5 sum..backup complete. (log attached)
Please let me know..
if any other data/detail is required.
I don't know what's the cause of this problem, though i feel like it might be something related to the kernel.
And also since its Repencis kernel i don't have any clear idea about whom to approach!
And thus made an individual thread for this peculiar problem.
Hopefully, looking forward to find a solution to this problem.

Thankyou sir for your kind interest, but i have used that CWM also.
And talking about kernel sir, i would first prefer to solve this problem then think of opting to 'alternative' solutions.
Because i prefer full a2sd support, i settled with this kernel after testing many.
The only kernel that supports backup of ext is whitesxp kernel
Flash this kernel and the perm cwm included with it will support backup of ext partition although creating a nandriod backup is much slower than with other kernels

Hello marcussmith2626,
I once also tried Merruk kernel and it also used to make the backup of sd-ext when making backup of the device.
In fact. . .its a common thing.
Whenever backups are being made, if sd-ext is present then its backup is automatically made by CWM.
The problem is, in my case its not happening like that.
And about WhiteXP's kernel..
do it support a2sd?
I did try this kernel too. . .but didn't use it for long..since appeared as if it was draining my battery fast.

Use whitexp's kernel and your ext partition should be ext3 . I noticed that Ext3 format is the only format which supported backing up and restoring sd-ext partition successfully. That's my experience . You may like to try.

[Help] 50% Supercharged

Hi, guys.
I got stuck in Supercharging.
I was following the script and it told me it was just 50% Supercharged.
Going ahead with the script, it asked me for the Ultimatic Jar. Then it downloaded the last Service.jar, but the script don't recognize the file.
So I exited the script and went search for another service.jar.
Now I can't even run the script!
I use the Terminal Emulator.
Device: V10K Rooted, CWM, CM10.
Someone? '-'
use other method of v6 supercharging
i have L3 with 100% supercharged

hello.Khaon, the auto brightness seems didn't sensitive enough, the screen is too light in dark environment,on PAC
I just flashed khaon_kernel_aries_tdb-28-10-2014.zip on my CM11 in system1 (I have TDB enabled)
I can't help notice that it says my /data is f2fs (twice, I think the second one should be /cache) which is false (my data is /ext4) so I opened up the updater-script inside the zip, I'm no expert but I think you should check it, there might be something wrong. Like, I see at the end it tries to mount my /data and /cache partitions and wipe cache & dalvik-cache for me, but it seems failed to mount these partitions (I guess that's why I see the false f2fs report) and so the wipe didn't work as well (I didn't see the "android updating..." message and I have 200+ apps installed it can't be unseen if dalvik-cache is wiped)
Edit 2: well, apparently this has been explained:

Anyway, in About phone I can see now my kernel is 3.4.0-khaon-kernel-blahblahblah so I guess it did replace my kernel correctly, but I can't find anything to customize the kernel, no new options in Performance menu, there's no configure app, and I tried install some kernel tweaking app like Synapse and it says "No UCI suport detected." - So how can I customize it? This is my first time flash a custom kernel and I'm kind of stucked : /
Edit: just saw the post above mine mentioned Trickster MOD and I went download it, seems working fine.
PS: Are there any drawbacks if I choose not to wipe cache & dalvik-cache? Just out of curiosity. I'm gonna flash a new nightly therefor I will wipe them both anyway, just it works pretty fine now I don't see why I'm told to do the wipe after flash a kernel not a rom.
