Is it possible to be able to go the opposite way (Phone to Chrome)?
Open for discussion..
It would be interesting, but the logic would require some server service running on your desktop running chrome right?
Phone to Chrome would be great hope they can implement that feature in the future.
Search for android2cloud.
yup, android2cloud works great
Force closes for me

I got it to work. Can't be on wifi.
EDIT: DM servers were just acting up, no update available yet.
Run a logcat and get the url
how far through the process do i need to go to get the url?
PM the devs so they can help you run a logcat if you dont know how. Are you on Stock Vibrant or you running a custom rom? And did you already get the JI6 update?

I can run the logcat. I'm basically stock JI6, stock kernel, rooted, few misc mods. Do I need to go through with the update to get the info out of the logcat?
once the download starts run logcat and keep your eye open for the url address
Id suggest going with BigRick10's advice i really dont know nothing about logcatting.

Something is up with the DM server tonight. I am doing the trick with LauncherPro where you make the shortcut to the Device Management link to manually try to push OTAs, and the DM server tries to connect for about 5-10 minutes before it times out. Usually it just returns a result of no update for me immediately.
There might be something to this
Yeah I definitely went ahead and accepted the update, phone rebooted twice, and seems to be exactly the same as before. This may be nothing
Go into your settings into About Phone and tell us the firmware/baseband version

i guessed december 20 on the other thread! LOL

oh i guess not froyo..
Same as before, just JI6. Something must be up with the server
Maybe they were just testing their servers
What's this launcher pro trick you said

I wish I could remember exactly what I did or where to find it. It's buried in one of the older JI6 OTA threads.
Basically you have LauncherPro selected, long tap on home screen, and select "Activities". It's one of the many things listed in there (can't remember which one), but it makes a link on your home screen that pulls you into the DM menu where you can manually try to connect to the server.
Ill look into it thanks

Go here and follow all instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107499. This will make the option to install non-market apps straight on your device (HTC Aria) appear!!! Enjoy!
Known issues:
- Unable to send/receive mms (since settings are erased - maybe re-inputting them will enable it again?...)
- HTC Wallpaper list disappears (These wallpapers can still be accessed in their root folder - system/customize/resource)

Yes I did test it and it works. I couldn't believe it myself... but I do now!
I can't believe how easy that was!
It works on my Aria but there are now no images listed under HTC Wallpapers. The Live wallpaper are still available.

Thanks! It worked on my aria and didn't even reset the wallpaper or accounts that I can tell.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I tried this on two Arias running 2.2 and it worked, but it disabled the HTC Wallpaper section options (the select screen comes up but there are no wsllpapers shown) and the MMS send/receive also doesn't work. As hard reset fixed these issues but also removed the "unknown sources" option.
I can load wsllpapers via the live wallpapers and gallery options, but I can't fix the MMS issue.
Sent from my HTC Aria using XDA App
it did work for me to unable 3rd party apps installation although it did reset the wallpaper and made the wallpapers disappear from the list but who cares.. I dont use MMS feature, so cant comment on that..
worked for me also but now can not recieve mms
Has anyone tried manually restoring MMS settings?

I'm glad I waited for more replies.
as long as I can download the .apk, its really not that big of a deal to me anyway. Just have to connect phone to pc, find the file, drag it to my computer and then install it with android injector. This works for amazon apps and any app I have download from here.
If u rooted ur phone you would not need this and rooted phones have been able to do this for quit sometime now. Duh!

What .apk are you talking about? There is no .apk you download to unlock this option. You have to clear the data of two specific system apps to do this.

I THINK that he's talking about root not being that big of a deal as long as he can sideload...I'm pretty sure. Over a long time of being on forums, I have learned to read and understand the most incomprehensible of verbiage.
sorry, i was generalizing. basically if you can download the app, even if you cant install it from your phone, there is a simple method to get it installed when you get to your computer.
edit: yes, I was talking about how easy it is to sideload. just my opinion. easier to do than possibly lose mms options with this method to get the unknown sources checkbox.
just going to wait for the actual update. which better come soon. as it was supposed to be out before this thread even started.

The update was out before this thread started but only some (very few) people got it. So if someone can't wait for it, since it seems like no one else is going to get it, and they can afford to lose the mms setting (which could be reset manually), then they can do this method.
I'm currently running 3.2. I get home today and it says I have an update available. I try to load it and it just spins. Wifi 10.1 tab

Did you try power cycling the device? If it still won't work you could uninstall kies then reinstall and see if that works for the update.

this would work fine, minus the re-installing keis part, terribad software that only works half the time, Simpson8: just do the over the air update settings -> about device (or tablet cant exactly remember on kmm) -> software updates -> check for updates, the update your looking for is kmp, it started getting pushed out Monday.
Factory reset the tab first

Hi all,
I have a 7500 3G model and when I am on 3.1. Where do I need to go on the Tab to manually check if there is an OTA update?
Cheers,

You should shave Samsung account configured in your tab to get this work.

Every time I try to set up an account or try to login in hangs :-( Has anyone else had this issue?? I get a message saying 'Processing Failed'...
Got it to update. Seems to be a market update nothing more that I have found.

Seems like a market up date, yes. Question on your new Market: does it fill your screen? Seems silly that there are black bars on the left and right.

This happened to me when I first got my tab as well. Here is what I did to fix the problem:
Go to settings and manage applications.
Force stop the Samsung Account and then clear data.
Open the Samsung Apps app and it will ask you to log in again.
Reboot and try again. This was last June that it happened, so I hope I'm remembering right.
The update gave me the new market and fixed the incredibly annoying swype problem that was jumbling up my text. Thank god.

Whenever I've clicked on a phone number to call via Google Maps, it would always show up that defaulted apps and ask me what i wanted to use.
Everytime it pops up, i keep clicking "Always" for the default dialer. I thought it would set it as default, but when i had to look up a business to call their place, that "Default Apps" keep popping up. Is this in any way connected to Samsung Hubs like how screen Rotations was related to samsung hubs removal?
Is there a way to fix this? I don't want to have to click it again while driving.

I tried it myself and it went right to the dialer without a pop up. What apps is it asking you to choose from? More of a work around than a fix, but... If you do not use the other apps, can you delete them? That way you shouldn't see the pop up?

There were two, one a dialer and the other one is the Lookout. The one with the Lookout always ask to scan before dialing out. Don't get why it keep asking that.
EDIT: i think the same thing happen to the IE (Chrome) when it asked til i removed Chrome and it doesn't ask anymore. haven't tried it with the youtube yet.

Well. You are probably aware, but lookout is your security/antivirus app, so it makes sense that it scans.
Unfortunately I do not have it installed so I cannot comment on how it is suppose to act.

That not the problem. What i meant is that the default doesn't work. It always ask, even when i select "Always use as Default". I had assumed that from that, it'll always use the apps i selected as a default, but for some reasons, it isn't working.

I installed Lookout and was able to reproduce your experience. That might be the way lookout works. As a security app, it gives you the chance to scan everything before executing. OR It could just be a bug.
One thing is for sure... Lookout is the cause of your grief. You can play around with the Lookout settings, but in the end, you may have to choose what is more important to you.
