No you can't. Stop spreading misinformation. You can force it to default to HQ on 3G, but you can't get it to play HD on 3G.

If you want HD on 3G use this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529715

[Q] HD Screen R800i?

Does Xperia PLAY R800i have a HD screen. If not. How to activate or get? It supports 720p filming
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
No phone has a HD screen. The phone would need a resolution of atleast 1024x720
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
Plus, the Play doesn't support 720p filming.
Can hacks fix that? (720p)
Don't be too harsh, just asking

Neither the HTC Desire HD, The HTC HD/2 or The HTC HD7 have a HD screen. By the way FYI the Desire HD has a screen resolution of 480x800, Lower than the 480x854 resolution of the Xperia Play.
they called hd because they have 720p cameras

I think you misunderstood my question. I love Minecraft, and I love looking at other people's creations. What I'm asking is WHAT is it that you made? Why don't you post it in the Minecraft section so people can admire it?
Changing the resolution through the software wouldn't really benefit you at all. The screen has a native res that can't be changed, and it wouldn't make the OS look any better.

Original 720p filming now 2.3.4
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
You cant hack the screen res to go higher that it can physically go. So no you cant make the screen HD.
i dont even know if he's asking a question or what.. besides, he owns the Play already, why don't he check it out for himself..

If I try and watch a channel it gives me an error. I don't see the point in disabling it for rooted phones. Screw you sky!!!!

It says this is not available in your country
Any idea how to enable it?
Thanks

I believe on cm9 it gives you the option to temporarily disable root.
Might come in handy?
also you need to make sure your boot.img is secure eg
ro.secure=1 in /default.prop

Free 7" Tablet From Sprint!

Hey, it's not a Nexus 7...but not bad for free!
Buy a Sprint Phone get a ZTE Optik Tablet for FREE
Not a bad tablet for free, although I imagine they will make you get a data contract for it. It has the same display the Nexus 7 has, a 1280x800 at 7". Only downside is its running HC which is still much better than GB on a tablet. Although XDA has a fix for that as there appears to be unofficial CM9/CM10 builds out there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629630
It leoks nice I checked instorw
I believe theres a data plan contract tied to it,some sites are confirming this
