I got myself an N7 about one and a half months back. I'm quite happy with it, barring two things:
A noticeable screen lift (aargh, I got it at last)
The lack of 3G
Basically, what I wanna do is to RMA and sell it on eBay to raise cash to buy a 3G model (because a buyer may return saying there is screen lift)
Now, I've made some mods to the box to fit my n7 while charging. Can I RMA this? Also, how do I RMA in Kolkata? And does an unopened RMA product count as new on eBay?
I'm in Kolkata, if you wanna know.
Can anyone help me out?

Hi guys,
I recently bought a Mytouch 4g for $470 shipped from Newegg (should have bought brand new from Ebay in retrospect, bur was worried about the warranty/exchange ability).
Anyways, I spent about $20 before receiving it on a clarivue screen protector, and TPL Case.
I didn't like the phone for a couple of reasons. For one, the weight and screen couldnt compare to my nexus one.
The mytouch 4g also has a few quality control issues that can vary, so I returned mine for a brand new one from Newegg the other day. Should be getting a brand new (?) replacement over the next few days.
I found a guy with a nexus one with a small corner ding who might be willing to trade. I told him to look at the ebay prices on both phones and get back to me. On ebay, a Brand new Mytouch 4g goes for $346 shipped. A brand new Nexus one goes for about $264 + shipping costs (to be determined).
He's offering me $75 for the exchange/trade. Good deal? Would you do it?
Do you want a front facing camera for video chat?
I really wouldn't. just root it and throw a stock rom I don't see a reason for trading it. Right Now you can get a Nexus one for 250 or less.
Thanks guys.
I don't really need a front facing camera, but my nexus one's camera (no bar code scanning even), and proximity sensor don't work. You're right $250 is not that bad a price to save up for if i'm hurting for a nice nexus one.
I think I might keep it. I get the mytouch replacement tomorrow in the mail. There are two issues with this phone's build quality that question rooting. I rooted my previous one in order to Terminal emulate a command which tells me what kind of EMMC chip it has. I had the bad one, which continuous Romming might brick. speculative.
I also had the bad screen, which is the taiwan screen (surprisingly). It looks washed out. Apparently some come with a china screen thats more akin to the nexus 1s SLCD in quality.
They actually have a poll for your interest, on the HTC Glacier (mytouch4g) forum, asking what combination of chip and LCD people have. Its a real crapshoot.
Will see tomorrow what I get. Either way, I think i bought a losing product here in terms of return on investment. Should have bought an ebay N1.
Square Trade has decided that my TF can't be repaired because the glass is not available and they don't know when it will be available - not good news for anyone else with broken glass. But they are going to send me $499 (I had the 32) and I'll buy another one (though probably a 16 this time). Does anyone think there are differences in stock at different retailers? My gut sense is to go with Amazon, since they probably have the highest turnover and might have newer stock but I'm not sure that even makes sense. I bought my original from NewEgg when they were first available so it was very much a first generation manufacturer. And had no problems at all except a small light bleed. TIA for any suggestions. - sheureka

I just ordered a 16 gb TF from Amazon and it came DOA. The screen would turn on but it was solid black and nothing would display. So I had to replace it. Amazon is shipping another one in the mail now and I am returning the one I got. The return process was painless but it's painful to wait so long to get it. I live on an APO address in Japan so I have to wait like 2 weeks.
I'd go with Amazon. If you don't get one you like, you can ship it back for free, which is awesome.
Also, if you have a student email-address, you can sign up for Amazon Prime for a year and get free 2-day shipping. So there.
I see you cross-posting, sheureka.
Hi Everyone,
I have decided to purchase the A500 based on days of reading about this tablet versus the top 3 competitors.
However, where I live, this tablet is either discontinued or sold-out from local vendors.
I do have the opportunity to purchase a "no receipt" BNIB A500 32gb for $360 locally on craigslist.
My question to you is "do you think it's worth it?"
Many of you have read or experienced horror stories of malfunctioning gps, rocker buttons/power buttons failing, bricked start-up out of box, patterened screen, etc etc.
Just need a general opinion if I should risk it, as I have no warranty or return option.
I've come to trust everyone's opinion here, so I apologize if my question is juvenile.
I was never asked by Acer to produce my receipt in order to receive service. They have the tablet at the moment and are fixing a sleep issue. They only asked where I bought it and when.
Is the full size USB leading I to purchase the a500?

Yes, the full size USB is a big factor for me. Other reasons are the availability of roms / incoming ICS, cash price, and screen size.
I returned mine after getting a 32gb with screen flashing issues. My suggestion is to go with A200 brand new thru either Tigerdirect or Newegg for 349.99$ for 16GB brand new. No mini HDMI or Rear camera but ICS has already leaked for it and appears to be the replacement for the A500. There is a reason why its being replaced. I placed my order for a a200 yesterday.

Thanks for the opinion, I think I'll steer clear of something I can't return then!

Does the seller know where it was purchased? I have been finding more and more that retailers are keeping track of specific serial numbers. I bought a used DS for my son but the box was torn so I took it to walmart to exchange it and they said it was purchased at Best Buy originally.
That price seems a bit high to me for a used device even if it is listed a BNIB. There is no way to really tell if it is really new. Not too long ago one of the best buy had the 16GB refurbished ones for $279. When I tried to sell my 16GB used, I was getting offers in the $225 range.
I love the hdmi output for watching movies in any format on my TV so the A200 wouldn't work for me but everyone has different uses for a tablet.

I have noticed the same with retailers. The seller states it is shrink-wrapped and unopened, and can be opened in his presence for verification (with cash in hand.)
However, I have decided to not pursue a deal outside of buying from a retailer, as I would be heartbroken should an issue arise that Acer would not agree to fix without potential proof of purchase.
Well I should clarify it would have to be an awesome deal.
Thank you all for your replies. It's so hard to buy a tablet these days, with so many options and promised ICS upgrades!
Hey,
I wanted to know if any of your are experiencing the same thing I did. I just purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition White 16gb and received it in a package that you can easily tamper. It was not taped shut. The package itself for the product has both seals broken. I took out the product, it seems to have not been touched.
Can you return it and ask for an replacement. It Doesn't sound legit how they sold the device to you.

Yeah I just called them for a replacement. They are going to send me one for 1 day delivery so it should be here tomorrow. I am just really upset with them right now because I have been waiting for the device. I was just wondering if other people that have purchased the tab from Amazon got a broken sealed tablet.
a lot of people complained about this with lasr year's note. I forgot what amazons reason was. mine came sealed.
i got a 16gb black shipped from bestbuy and seals were in tact.
My cousin ordered one off amazon and the seal was broken. Half his screen did not function and the home button was busted. Luckily, he was able to get a replacement.
Thanks guys for responding. I thought it was uncommon. I guess its not. My replacement just shipped out. Hopefully the seal isn't broken again...
I got two open box Note 10.1 2014 from Newegg two weeks ago and one open box from Tigerdirect this week. The wired thing is the seals were broken from both of sellers. I ordered a brand new one from them! I felt a little frustrated and tired of calling their custom service. By the way, I did replacement first time bought from Newegg. Then I did a refund second time. I did a refund for Tigerdirect too. All the refund claims are on their way now. I do not know if I am so picky? If you were me got an open box one, will you accept it? Is it acceptable?

I don't care as long as it doesn't look like it was used. My LG G Pad came in an open box.
It would bother me a little, but if the tablet works okay I wouldn't worry about it I did just buy one also that the seal was broken. Works fine though and no signs of use

Very often they break the seal just to add the electrical outlet plug for your country. Ordered mine from ebay and that's why the seal was broken.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but doesn't "open box" imply the box has been opened??
