My N4 makes noises when vibrating, it's really noticeable when you write with the keyboard
Is it just me?
I was having the same issue, but a factory reset seemed to fix that problem for me.

Yeah, that's probably it.
Flashed CM10, the same.
Can't understand if it's an hardware issue or if it's normal

is this a board rule or something?
anyways to the OP no current 2.1 is fully functional without issues. use a 1.5 if you want that, i recommend pancake without sense.
if you want a fully working 2.1 rom wait until the devs get their hands on the final build released from sprint hopefully this month?

Hi to you too.
No thanks.
Cool, thanks I am running fresh2.0d and I like this rom but the trackball light and the sound issue concerns me, because I dont know if it is fixed. I downloaded the fix but last night I got no sound again after I changed my autokiller setting,so I changed It back and it has been ringing all day, so I dont know if it is really fixed.....

mmmmm good
Fresh 2.0d has lwp (they don't work in Sense, but that is a problem with Sense), it has the trackball fixed, though all the button lights have some weird glitch, you'd have to try it to see it, but at least the trackball is in sync with those buttons. It also has all the sound working as well. I highly recommend it. I've been using it since it came out and I'd say its 100% functional with virtually no issues.
On RegawMOD 2.0.2p, I have LWP running and sticking with the regular Home, not sense, but they do stick. you need the 2 apks for it though.

I don't think it is. People have gone 20+ hours just to have the problem happen again. the fix seems to stave it off temporarily but as I have found, it seems to come back sooner or later. Oddly enough, some people just don't seem to have the bug at all. It is an issue in the audio driver of the kernel though, it is there in everyones phone. Just haven't figured out what causes the bug to surface in some peoples phones but not others.
So is there a new update because I have fresh 2.0 and the trackball did work until I dounloaded the sound fix and the trackball light went away...
So it still has the 7 screens or is it the one screen?

Hey.
Not a chance.
I'm running that Raga-muffin-mod or whatever it is...and I'm not having any issues. Trackball works. but...what sound are you talking about? and what is LWP?

My hero makes lots of sounds. LWP = Live Wallpaper
Every so often with 2.1 fresh my phone has no speaker sound in or out unlees you reboot the phone and lwp is live wallpapers.....
I'm on CM 506 and Raven's kernels and, when someone calls, the screen doesn't come on for at least 3 seconds. Any ideas?
Bump.........
Happens to me too sometimes. Not sure if its Cyanogen, my kernel or Android in general.
Same issue here.. The trackball blinks though, but screen doesnt come on for a couple of seconds.

So is this a bug in CM506??? can others confirm please....
im also on cm's latest, i dont have that issue though
I've only had the S3 for a few days and haven't even installed very many apps.
When I pull down the top menu or when I first open an app it flickers with white pixels.
I'm assuming this is a hardware issue with the phone?
What do you think?
--------
Well I was going to post a YouTube video of it, but I guess I can't because I don't have 10 posts.

Wow that's irritating issue - could be a hardware or software issue honestly but definitely not normal.

Yeah, it's extremely irritating.
I actually just did a factory reset and it's still doing it.
So I'm guessing a hardware issue with the screen, just my luck!
Any other opinions on this?

Factory reset only deletes user data it does not "reflash" the OS. Before you return it you may want to (if you're into it) try reflashing stock ROM via Odin. If after you've flashed stock rom you are still experiencing issues then you know it's definitely hardware.
Not sure if you guys have experienced this before as I didn't see any thread discussing it.
But this happened to me 3 times, after using the camera in low light and moving to gallery to preview the picture, Nexus 4 halts and reboots.
Not sure if this is related, but I can also hear the lens moving.
This happened on stock Rom and Kernel
And yesterday it happened again on Franco Kernel r34 and CM10
Attached is the kernel log, any recommendation?
Thanks,
Dani

Good to know I'm not the only one.
Did you capture the kernel log? I am intrested to see if the stack trace/exception are the same.
I hope it's not a hardware issue.
unfortunately no (i have no idea how you do that) but after some thinking im gonna assume it is software related
i mean it was just like you described moving between gallery and camera back and forth suddenly the device got stuck and had to rebooted i mean if it was hardware related why didnt it reboot or turn off immediately

I found another two people running into the exact same issue, their kernel crash log is identical to mine.

and

this should have been happening more frequent but not everyone is reporting it, or maybe we are the lucky ones...

Hey I sent to you a PM, maybe try updated kernel r61 on franco runs very well. :fingers-crossed:
my screen currently looks like this! It used to be just a minor thing.. sometimes when i would power on my screen, it would flicker like this for a second and then return normal. This would happen only once in 2 weeks, so i was never bothered by it. But since yesterday ... the display just keeps showing this.. it is responding to the touch.. i can see the lines change colours.. it briefly flickered to the actual display once or twice for a second.. but now its permanently like this.. any ideas on what to do?

Try clearing cache and davlik in recovery. If that doesn't help, may have to reflash rom, or stock or something. If its still there, must be a hardware issue. A bad one by the looks of it.

whatever screen i am on.. recovery or just charging.. the display is messed up.. so i couldn't clear the dalvik cache even if i wanted.. im on stock 4.3 unrooted. i havent done any mods on it.. so im guessing hardware.. how does a hardware issue pop out of nowhere like this?

Electronics just fail. That's life. But it does suck!!
Yeah, seems its hardware tho. I'd say your device is done. Sorry to say.
Unless someone has seen this before? Thing is, if you can't do anything with it....you're probably out of luck. You could blindly try to use fastboot or something to flash it again. But if the lines are there in recovery and when its off and charging.....I think its definitely hardware.

Sure you could! See no reason why not....if you're lucky enough to still have warranty.

No question about it. If it's still under warranty, it's pretty certain a hardware issue.
