Is there away too force Nexus 4 OTA update? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if anyone knows a trick too make the update happen. It's not showing yet on my phone.

yes you can download the update manually ...

go to settings > apps and clear data for google services framework as well as force quit. Then try to update. That should work

I tried this several times, but still update is not appearing on my nexus 4. Please suggest if there is anyother way wherein i can get OTA update.

That's because Google made it obsolete. That method is long gone.

Why am I still not getting the 4.2 OTA?

Hey all,
I bought my nexus 7 a couple days ago, haven't rooted it or anything of the sort (yet) but when I check for updates it still says I'm up to date on 4.1.2?
Anyone else still not getting the OTA notification?
Hold on, be patient. There have been millions of N7's sold and it takes a couple of days or more to get the update out to everyone. You can find many threads that would help you manually install the update, but since you are new to the N7, you might want to wait until you get the official notification and let it install. You'll have plenty of time to unlock, root, and customize your new plaything. And, yes, I still haven't gotten the OTA notification, but I'm reading about everyone's experience so I'll be prepared for some changes.
You can keep on clearing the " Google services framework" cache and checking for updates until it pops up. I had to do it about 8 times before it finally showed the update.

From my experience, I left WiFi active whole night and when I woke up update have been downloaded and ready for installation. Good luck!

I can't get Google Wallet to set up!

I am having issues getting Google Wallet set up on my Nexus 10. I just received it today, and it sits on the "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes" screen for what seems like forever, then I get a message "Device Not Ready-Wallet is unable to proceed until this device is fully initialized. Make sure the phone has network access and try rebooting it if the problem persists", well the network is 100% A OK, and the device is fully initialized, so I'm not sure what the issue is, and I have rebooted it a few times and even cleared data and cache on the Wallet program, to no avail. Is anybody else having this issue?
If your under a custom rom, that could be the reason why its not working. I have Google wallet on my rooted stock SG3 and it says unsupported device but it still works.

It's the stock ROM, just rooted, unlocked bootloader and recovery.
It still won't set up as of this morning, it's not a hardware problem because the NFC works just fine, I guess I'll have to talk to Google.
Well, I fixed it! I went into Titanium and uninstalled it, installed the version in the Play Store, and then opened it up and WHAM, it worked! Maybe the one on the device was corrupt, or uninstalling then re installing cleared out some errors, what do you guys think?
Edit-I don't know that I'll use it on my Nexus 10, as I have it installed and working on my SGS3 (AT&T), but it's nice to have the option, and it was bugging me not being able to get it working lol
Glad you figured it out! Sometimes its as simple as uninstalling then reinstalling go figure.

Just wondering... Why do you want Google Wallet on your N10? Do you have the 3g version and carry it around all day?

Coolness factor
In any case, my wallet seems to be stuck also on "Setting up Wallet". I've tried CM10.1, some other custom ROM, and stock, and tried a few different wallet apps on CM10.1, to no avail so far.
Edit: My NFC still appears to work; I can wave my credit card near the NFC sensor on the N10, and it'll make a sound.
Try uninstalling wallet with titanium backup and reinstall from the play store. Worked for me today on my rooted sprint galaxy nexus.

Tried your suggestion and it let me sign in and setup a PIN. However, it errors out when trying to add cards. It also says that I'm using an unsupported device (Nexus 4).

I'm having the same issue. I've tried everything short of editing the build prop as some have done in the past with other devices (I have a nexus 4), and probably would even do that if some other person with an N4 did it and had success. Tried multiple ROMs and multiple versions of Wallet with no luck. I either get the "Setting up wait 5 minutes, device not initalized" issue or the "request failed" at the add card error. Put in for a replacement yesterday, so hopefully the new one doesn't have the issue. If so, then we know that there are just some lemon N4's out there.
first, I got this wallet apk from the dev paulobrien here at xda. I don't have the link to his site at the moment. now, onto the fun stuff. to begin with, uninstall any previous wallet app. next, using root explorer drop this apk into the /system/app directory and change the permissions to match the other apps. now, reboot and enjoy the odd looks of cashiers when you pay with your awesome tablet!
I found the link for anyone who is wary.

Hello friends,
I am new to Android. I am stuck on stock rooted 4.2.1 still and the OTA says I don't need an update.
Help friends.
which country are you? usually OTA are released country by country, not whole world once; it might take few days until available in your country/operators

NYC
It is released randomly. It has nothing to do with country or carrier. You can either wait or flash it manually.

Seems like a waste of time when you can just install the apk. Same thing you would get if it was pushed by Google.

I manually installed the latest Play app, but I can't say I really like it. At first glance the design seems to be reverted to the Android 2.x user interface. I don't get it why Google chose a green title bar.

Anyway, if you search 'Google Play 4.0.26' in the 'Search All Forums' box up in the top right corner you'll get a lot of results for the APK

meaning that page only shows apps that I purchased and not include free apps that I downloaded? If that is the case do u know where I can view a list of all my previously downloaded apps? I'm trying to find an app I downloaded last time but I can't remember the name, thats why I need like a history or something. Plus I swear last few months I came across a list of all my downloaded app, which include free apps, it was over 180 something
It's in "my apps" -> "all", or at least on your device it's there.

Hit my apps when you're installed apps show swipe right and it should show every app you have installed as long as its still available on play. Sometimes it doesn't show for a while after updating or flashing a new rom . If it still isn't showing after 24 hours I would wipe play data in settings and sign in again and wait if it still doesn't show you could try some of the market fixer apks. Or report it to Google. There should be showing.
