Windows is not able to format an ext2 partition type. You need to delete that partition first and probably you will want to delete all partitions in your SD card, to create only one partition that windows can format like FAT32.

Try using 4ext recovery. You can install it from the free version in market. It has excellent formtting and partitioning tools. The touch interface is excellent too. Makes for a great replacement of clockwork mod.

I just can't believe CWM made an option to partition, and didn't make an option to unpartition
or am i missing something??
No repartitioning in cwm. That's one of the reasons I use 4ext now. I don't think 4ext will repartition without formatting whole sd but it give you very clear warnings if it is going to so try and see what it says.
If it is going to need to format whole sd then use an adapter to put sd in a pc and copy everything accross. Copy it all back once you're partitioned/formatted. Easy.

I've heard you can make a live cd of gparted and use that to partion the card. I use gparted on ubuntu and it is simple and easy. It works great for resizing partions. You can erase the swap and then add that to the existing fat32 partion or turn some of it into ext 2,3,4 for app2sd.
A live cd is booted itself not run inside the existing operating system. So you would make the cd then boot from cd
Just make sure your editing the sdcard and not your pc harddrive! There is a pulldown to select the drive you want to work with. The size will be the bigest indicator cause I assume your hdd is much larger then 8 gig

In Linux you can use fdisk to delete all partitions and make only one of 8GB in size. In Windows I guess you can use Disk Administration tool or whatever utility that allows you to create and edit partitions on your storage devices.

[Q] Fail at booting

The installation completes succesfully but when I reboot it stucks on a black screen. Using MAGLDR and CWM, in the installation I chose NAND installation type. Is there maybe anything I do wrong?

You chose ONLY Nand? You must have enough system partition. What device do you have? (Eu or Tmo) and what is your partitioning?

You should use DataOnExt. Create an ext partition on your sdcard and reinstall the ROM with the installation option "Nand with DataOnExt" chosen. And you should be good to go.

You can follow this great tutorial by mengfei up to the point where he says "Another method of creating an EXT4 partition". (don't forget to thank him)
Edit: Your memory failed you , it must be an ext2/3/4. (In addition to your original FAT32)

If I'm not mistaken it's almost exactly the same as in mengfei's guide. Just boot into AD Recovery from MAGLDR, select Advanced then partition SD card. Choose whatever size you like (if you're not sure then 1GB is always a good safe option) and usually you won't have need for a swap partition so select 0 here. This will delete all of the data on your SD card though so make sure to back anything important up first.

Ok, and as long as I do partition the sd card it will obviously need to copy the .zip of the ROM again onto the sd card correct?

Yeah, the best way to do it is using an SD card reader but since you don't have that using USB mass storage or the option in cwm should be fine.

That process is likely to format your sdcard, so MAKE SURE you have backed up everything. That means you'll also have to recopy the .zip file of the ROM.

Op is asking how to remove partition.. not how to wipe/format partition.. so your answer is wrong for this question. So the correction..
You would remove it if you don't want to use the second or third(swap) partition anymore.
@ op.. use any partition managers like minitool, easus etc to remove it or as stated above windows disk management will do.. you would have to delete both partitions in sdcard and create a new partition of fat32.. search in Google.. you will find good guides..
But make a backup of sdcard first before doing it..

err.. no.
Formatting only resets data on that partition. I mean it only clears data from that partition.. it won't delete the partition. Say you have 2 partition.
If you format in phone. It will format first partition. Second partition data will be intact. And it won't be deleted either.

just use any partitioning tool to remove both partitions, then make a fat32 partition of the whole sdcard.

copy anything you want to save onto pc
open mini tool
delete all partitions on sd card
create a new partition of fat32

you could if you wanted just merge the partitions or delete the unwanted partition then extend the other partition into unused space but the above method is quick and simple

Lost 16GB of my SD card. Please help :(

"MOUNTING LOOP TARGET FILE"
"INSTALLING.. DO NOT SWITCH APPS OR PRESS THE HOME BUTTON" (installation was taking very long so I pressed CANCEL and deleted Linux.loop file from /data/local)
Then I saw my sdcard, and it showed me this:

i deleted all thumbnails files folders, lost.dir folder files, cache files, & even uninstalled LINUX INSTALLER STANDARD app and then used sdmaid app to recover my lost space. No method worked! There are no hidden files or folders in my card. Please help me. How can I recover my lost sdcard space?

Use diskpart (on Windows), or gparted (linux), or disk utility (Macintosh). Those will help remove unwanted partitions on the SD card.
