I now have issues in all categories links. Example.
Open Sophie reader. Opens up first page all feeds
(no issues)
Scroll feeds are fine and also when I click on a feed to read in more detail.
(no issues)
Now when I open the left side bar to navigate my categories i.e my feeds organised in to subjects (football.news.android.bikes.etc) scrolling is fine as is when I click a subject title. example.
Click Football category title in left bar. All feeds show up fine on the right hand side bigger window and I can scroll through the list with no problems. BUT when I click on a feed to read in more detail the it will link to a wrong feed or just hang or cash. Hope this explains a bit more.

sorry for the quaility of the clip, but you should see what i have failed to explain! Hope it helps.
I will remove it from public view once you have had a good look it. Just tell me when!
What you will also notice is that when you press the back button after the feed has been opened in more detail, it will return to the all items, when i have been in the bikes sub feeds. The title will say BIKES but shows all items and not the bikes feeds.
Also when clicking on the item to read the feed in more detail, will result in the wrong link being shown, this is hit and miss for the correct item to show correctly.

Also I've noticed when u click on a news feed on widget it goes to a completely different story

Thank you for the video! I've got the idea of the issue you encounter. Currently working on it, hopefully I can fix it this morning. I'll post it when it is ready.

I have had a closer look at this and when i open up gReader _ All items when viewed on my computer are not mirrored on all items Sophie Reader hitting sync on both at the same time. Sophie seems to be mixed up. Timeline is wayout. I can email you some snapshots pictures from gReader/computer and sophie/phone if it helps.
Crossed posts.
I am happy to help as I like the concept. I have also noticed a few issues with big news and also when it links to Sophie. Your next fix should sort that, so I will wait till then to post any bugs I have noticed.

Yes sync works ok,just doesn't update widget

Galaxy Note HUGE S-Memo bug/problem

Following clip is not mine but I advice everyone to watch what's happening...as this is unacceptable and has to be spread around until it reaches Samsung so they can fix it!
Basically, when a drawing/memo in S-Memo (a vital Note app) contains too much lines/information the whole thing takes almost a minute to open and even worse; when it's saved, the app crashes!
See for yourself:
(i'm a brand new member who just tried to put a youtube link to this post and aren't allowed yet, can a mod allow this please, as i think it's important to share this important information, thanks)
(btw, this is the title on youtube: Samsung Galaxy Note - S Memo is just for Memo)

well you can fill the screen with one or two large strokes if you wanted but as you see in the video it's about lots of single strokes/points, which adds up to the file size of the memo, as opposed to fewer (large strokes)
could someone replicate something with a high stroke/point count just as in that video and report?

thanks a lot for your effort though i see that you also did a lot of long scribbles *without* lifting the pen nearly as much as you would do if you had to fill the screen with hundreds of points (or short strokes) like you can see in the original video...
there clearly is a big problem with the way the uploader's Note handles that "point-heavy" drawing...
i suspect that until now not a lot of people made (or reported) a problematic drawing were lots of *seperate* events (points) are being drawn, that's why i want to bring this out and it would still be important that someone would replicate a drawing consisting of a whole lot of *seperate* points/lines...as seen in that original video, as again; there is clearly a big problem going on in that video!

like i said, the uploaded video is not mine though i'm in for a note, that's why i'm concerned...
and since you don't seem to have problems i'm still wondering what could be wrong with that note: certain colors? pen type? thickness? a combination?
it's really strange and i really pity that person, who has to wait a minute each time to open a memo and can't even save afterwards...
it looks software related so it's hard to imagine there is a problem with the uploader's hardware...
Its probably an old ROM. S-memo does get updated from time to time.

am having similar problems with mine, and to tell you the truth its bugging the crap outta me, ive been sketching a picture since the last few days (just a few minutes per day) and most of the time when ive finished and i try to save it, the memo crashes and i end up having to redo everything that i did, all over again, if im lucky only once if not, sometimes thrice or more...which sucks !
Never had that problem. But here's a fix:
Get sketchbook mobile, a real app for drawing/sketching.

got it already, last year christmass deal for 10 pence hehe
but still this problem sucks !
So, I fired up S memo for the first time and wrote my to do list for today. I go and reply to some emails/texts and when I go back to S memo my list is gone! It doesn't autosave??? Who designed this? My iPhone used to autosave my notes and then it had the same problem when I would leave the app and come back they'd all be gone. Am I doing something wrong?
OmniSketch is a good alternative too, or LectureNotes for text purposes.
S-Memo doesn't have an autosave, you have to remember to save it, or exit it correctly and then say "yes" to the prompt, otherwise it will just ditch what you've done.
So there its no solution for this problem?I have Yuri big drawing I can't access so 8 can finish them!
I updated my firmware to the latest open Europe one and the problem stop! So the best to solve this problem is to flash a new firmware!
Pure vida guys!

Samsung Galaxy Note or S-Memo or S-Pen bug?
Hi
I have encountered this strange problem with my new galaxy note. Not sure if it is phone hardware, S-Memo or S-pen problem. Nevertheless, after getting the phone replaced, the problem still occurs but less frequently as before. Hope some kind souls could enlighten or share if they've similar encounters.
Problem = there's always this strange spot (right side) that could not be drawn using the S-Pen. Using finger is ok. Sent phone back to Samsung, they've changd the LCD, S-Pen and problem still persisted. Later they changed me a new set, but after a few tries, the same problem comes back but less frequent as before.
I tried resetting the phone, the patch size reduced, and even if it does not occur, drawings on that part of the screen is never smooth. Maybe I am having phobia now.
I can't post the picture here coz I am new...

[Guide][JB] Cool new features in the 4.1.2 update

Stuff you may not have noticed in the new update:
Overview:
Sammobile have leaked Samsung's 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy SII today, it's a long awaited updated that, in my opinion, has completely changed the phone. I was disappointed when Ice Cream Sandwich was released as it appeared Samsung had put minimal effort into the update, the UI felt outdated and I personally preferred running CM9. For the first time since Gingerbread I am absolutely in love with the Samsung's stock ROM!
Whether it was Samsung's choice or one of Apple's stupid patents the entire UI for the SII, Note and some other devices have got the new Nature UX found first on the SIII. Most noticeably the TW Launcher, notification bar and title bar layout has been changed, but overall the entire OS looks much fresher and cleaner. I have personally not encountered any lag in this leak and it appears Project Butter is working fine, there are a few blips here and there such as lock screen lag/unresponsiveness. Without a doubt this is the smoothest my SII has been since I first bought it and it feels brand new again!
** Of course this is test firmware and is not recommended for daily use **
Some features you may not know about:
Vibration Patterns:
Under settings > sound > device vibration you'll find this menu, here you can change the vibration pattern of the phone.
If the presets aren't right for you, you can create your own custom ones by clicking on create under the above menu.
Changing the lock screen shortcuts
To change these go to settings > lock screen > lock screen options > shortcuts.
Hold your finger down on the preset icons and drag the old ones to the trash, click on the + sign to add your own.
Adding Facebook to the lock screen:
First you must have Facebook installed and you must be logged in.
To activate it navigate to settings > lock screen > lock screen options > information ticker > contents type > Facebook
You may need to refresh on the lock screen its self.
Personalising the Messaging App:
Open up the Messaging app, press menu and select settings - here you'll find a few settings.
Bubble style:
Background style:
Dropbox:
Samsung have kindly teamed up with Dropbox to give us 50GB of free storage. This would cost you a fair bit to buy so take it up even if you aren't a user, it's a really useful cloud app. I'm sure you're greeted with it during first boot, if not it can be added as an account under the settings menu.
Quick access to the camera:
This is activated under settings > lock screen > lock screen options > camera quick access
I can't post a screenshot as I don't have enough hands... At the lock screen, place one finger on the screen and rotate the camera 90 degrees to launch the camera.
Did Samsung forget the ripple lock feature?!
No, they did not. I'm sure it will be included by default several releases down the line but remember this is test firmware. I can't stand 240dpi, so the first thing I did was change to a lower one - 180. Once rebooted the ripple lock worked! If I have some free time this week I shall make a multi dpi TW Launcher and dialer as everything else appears to work without modification.
Would I recommend it?
To put it bluntly, yes! I've been using it for a few hours with no problems what so ever, of course if you want to protect your warranty do not. You do risk bricking your phone and starting World War III, so do so with caution. I'm sure all of you Gingerbread lovers will enjoy this too!
Hopefully some of you found this helpful, thanks!
I just want to thank you for having a *CLEAN* thread (formatting, screenies, English quality).
There's a gazillion of threads here that hurt my eyes to look at.
I'll thank you once again, once you do get those multi-dpi phone and twlauncher. Also, the messaging apk is also a bit strange under 160dpi.
I havent tried 160 yet, will have a look into it

NIce thread! What about Smart Stay?
Smart stay is there, and so is popup play!
How do you change dpi?
Also did you see how when you plug in headphones you get quick launch icons for your media apps in the notification panel.

Er sammobile dint get it first == a xda member did...
so how do you change teh DPI and why would you change it?
whats the difference?
also you forgott about Allshare Play
thats the biggest thing that have ever happend to the S2
For me stock browser crashes if i try 180 dpi, 160 and 240 works fine.
Also The clock crashes for me eveytime i try to turn og an alarm both at 240 and 160 dpi.
Am I the only one having this problems? If not do you know if it can be fixed like the dailer?
Just wanted to point out that other than that it works awesome for me.

I have not signed into Samsung yet, so I'm curious what this cloud does, what we can use it for compared to Dropbox, and how much storage is there.
Thanks...

Yes I got that too, but there is another 'cloud" setting in settings, I was just wondering if you use this to back up Samsung settings or whatever.
using this awesome rom
i liked stock more than aokp and cm because of camera quality, and now they hav added new features..its cool
but i hav a concern..i ma using perfmon and what i observed is that cpu remains on 800mhz most of the time while using the phone(not when screen is off)..as i hav flashed stock kernel after a long time interval, its weird for me..but i dont know, may be stock kernel are designed this way only..
scrolling is also very good..but msging app has very poor scrolling...the audio quality of speakers is definitely better..video player is awesome..just loving this rom..waiting for a kernel from dorimanx or Gm..but they need source of kernel
SO PLEASE INFORM THEM IF U HAPPEN TO KNOW ABOUT IT...thnx

I'm sure we can work something out by mixing both the cardsui lib and your project to make it look like your adapter while keeping the cardsui functionnalities.
(Your custom one looks really good, pretty much similar to google play, nice job)
If you could please upload it on github it would be great.

"You can set any color for the title and any other color for the left stripe",
"#f2a400", "#9d36d0", true, false));

The modified version of CardsUI is available on my github : http://github.com/Adroguide/cardsui-for-android
You can test it right away by downloading the example apk : http://pimpmyrom.org/downloads/CardsUIExample.apk
I am going to polish it and possibly add new parameters before sending a pull request to try & get it merged in the original CardsUI by Nadav Fima, so if you have ideas or requests let me know.

Ok guys, I was thinking of the best way to showcase the library in an example app, and I came up with this cards generator.
Currently it allows to create regular cards as well as play cards and to set all the parameters through a nice animated gui.
I added an example of a card that triggers a contextual action bar when swiped (the purple stripe one), but I'll add a "cancelable swipe"checkbox to the cards creator soon.
The next step is to make it generate a zip containing all the code & resources needed for the generated cards.
This really is just a draft, there's still quite a few things I've not implemented yet :
Google Now Image Cards
Menu overflow & touch feedback toggle for Google now cards
Stack Title
But anyway I thought I'd share the progress.
Let me know what you guys think(apk attached to this post)
I've added a few things to the library too :
ability to set the description of google now cards programmatically
ability to set the stack title's color programmatically
the Google Play cards can now hold as much text as you want, it won't be ellipsized and the card's height & stripe's height will be adjusted to fit.
Pushing the commit in a few minutes.

I think this might be similar to what you want:
http://www.androidviews.net/2012/12/cardsui/
Though it does seem to stack them like Google Now
You can create your own Adapter extending ArrayAdapter.
Then you create custom view for a single item in list that looks like that.

+1 for the CardsUI library by Nadav Fima, and yes they can stack-up too, and be swiped-out like on Google Now.
Here are some screenshots from my app using this library
Stacked-up cards :
Not stacked-up, swiping the second card :
I really recommend this library, it's neat and very easy to implement.

Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard. I've made a list view similar to this. Probably around the same size, just not as comely as Google. Like pedja1 said, you can creature your own custom array by setting the layout in XML and then using an ArrayAdapter

Agreed. If you want a "speed daemon" you shouldn't use the cards ui library as it doesn't cache properly, and therefore will slow down quickly. It shouldn't be too hard to create your own adapter/layout to 'emulate' the cards look. It's common practice to do such things, so this is really where you should be looking into!
aaaa
Took Androguide.fr Advice!
Found a couple of minutes of spare time today so did this in like 2-minutes
As always question in the image any more advice!
Library aint that well documented, so i am not sure if there is a internal way of reducing the width built into the library.

I dint know about this library, but the developer has put in a lot of work to it.
Lets see if we can contribute something to complement his work.
I loved the swiping animation on it too

The distance between the cards should be an addition of the spacing in the list view, and margins in the card view, there is not really any magic to it
This is a screen shot of my app (funny enough created before new Google Play app)
Its created with a custom adapter and a quite normal xml file for each list item.
Can you provide the xml for the card view?

Making android more accessible to disabilities

I am currently working with clients with severe physical disabilities, one of my clients has been given a Samsung 10" tablet which he loves using. However due to his disability it is proving difficult, He currently used a 'dynavox' to communicate.

in the first picture you will notice two joysticks, the one with the golf ball on steers his chair the other is his mouse for his dynavox this is a usb connection. The problem comes with the 'mouse' click, this is achieved by the green pad under his right arm in the second picture, this is plugged into the dynavox separately.
Im hoping the people here can assist me making android more accessible for my client.
So the joystick works with the tab but he's not able to click using it?
No, the click comes from touching the green pad. It goes into the dynavox via the mic socket

I would put it here.

Problem isn't with android per say. I say it's hardware. Modifying a mouse.
I would take apart a usb mouse (trackball or joystick) and separate the button actuation mechanism and route that to a pad for his lap to use for the button and mount the movement where he wants for the mouse.
Does that make sense? Or do I need to elaborate my explanation?

That makes sense, i think i can find an old spare green switch to play with.
My next issues will be with keyboards i think. Most android keyboards that I've come across are more designed for people with fairly good eyesight and dextrous thumbs, can anyone suggest a large lettered keyboard?
I'm sure I'm going to come across a few more issues as i go :banghead:

Update : it looks like it's going to be a modded joystick. My client used to use a trackball but no longer has the dexterity to manage one successfully. The same can be said of the external keyboard.
We looked at 'big launcher' which looks nice and had icons about the right size but seems to be geared more towards phone use than tablet use so I'm considering using uccw for a larger icon sets on his home screens, these would be an advantage as he would be able to touch the hotspots with his knuckle as well as using his button on bad days.

Cool man. Keep us updated with pics. I want to see how it turns out. Would be something good to share, maybe someone else can use the setup.
Just curious as to how this is coming?
At some point of time, you will have to change the dpi, and go opposite the usual direction. I.e. Change dpi to more higher values and force phone landscape mode.
@a.cid in trying to avoid root if i can, dpi changes have crossed my mind. @mark manning finding a controller that is a suitable size is tricky atm, he does like the idea of actually being able to touch the icons though. Going to request a uccw skin in the skins thread as soon as we've worked out which apps be will use lots. It's going to be a little slow, communication can take a while as he has to type out his responses, also getting to find the time to work with him when I'm at work is tricky, he's a busy busy lad what with horse riding, boccia, youth club etc

When I can't answer any of your questions, as a parent of a disabled child, thank you for looking at Android. I'm so sick and tired of people saying that iPads are the ONLY answer for for what you are trying to do. I've had some nasty flame wars where I've been kicked off email groups because I've asked why not Android.

@Superman - Can you please tell us which google group you are referring to. It will help all of us a lot.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I am also a bit concerned about the delay in game matching. This occurs because there is no other qued up for random game. It should go away when the user base expands. But I do need to address it somehow because no one likes to wait 10 minutes to start a game.
Ruzzle, which is similar to our game, has a bot system in place. But then it feels like cheating your users because its not a human player.
Search groups in Google+ like :
Android photography
Android games
and so on.

The app is based on the popular sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It's a quiz app and i've tried to be really creative with the GUI and sound effects. It would be really nice if you guys could please review the app and let me know what all i can do to improve it..thanks in advance.
here are some of the screenshots from the app:

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope so for all of us. For now, I am encouraging all the friends and family members to que up frequently to make up for lack of users. Today, the average waiting time has come down to under 5 minutes which is a good thing .
