don't where else to put this to ask the question to people in this sub forum only.
I have Tried this on several computers and they all are stuck in a constant refresh on this subforum. I have gone to android and epic touch 4g subforums and they are fine.
If I click a thread it will load and then keep reloading until I hit the stop button.
I have removed all addons/plugins etc and used every thing imaginable. Reset all the cashe and cookies, everything and re installed too
It does it on my windows 7 box in Firefox, Chrome and IE.
It also does it on my mac in safari and chrome.
Is there a way to fix this? Why is it only on this subforum?
thanks and sorry for posting here, but since its specific to the Google Nexus 4 threads I figured it would be best to ask here.

lmao and i thought there was something wrong with my retarded computer..but i guess since we raped our f5 buttons on launch day..our browsers got used to the assault and are doing it automatically for us
On the way bottom left corner there should be a pull down menu to select styles to view the forum. Choose 2010 XDA and it shouldn't ever do it again.
It must be a bug within the new forum layout.
IPad does this a lot. Very annoying.

Does anyone notice this or it is just me?
When your search from the search bar or voice search, the web results pop up, but actually clicking at the titles or the links won't direct you to the browser until you hit a little bit lower, at the brief description area. MORE SERIOUSLY, is that, when you filter the results by choosing more->shopping, or video, or whatever, the results are not clickable for me. No new tabs will show up.
Could anyone please try the following, type or speak "wallet", go to shopping results, tap on any one of the image item. Anything happens?
Thank you so much

worked here first time. I am currently viewing a quite attractive Oakely Square O Perf Wallet after it linking through Chrome. But, it's $50 and I am in the UK!
PS I spoke 'wallet' using Google Now
Meaning that mine is screwed. But does it have anything to do with the OTA update in US, causing some unknown search issue?
Any more people to try this out? Especially who is in US
Thank you!
Worked for me.

I seemed to find something. So have you turned on the Now service? not the voice search feature, but the privacy-controversial service.
Seems like if never enrolled in Now, your search is working fine.

That is also what happens to me, either opening two tabs or no tab at all. Drives me crazy. I hope people join me to report this to Google. It is definitely not me alone.
I'm having a far worse issue. I cannot open search results in any way on my Nexus 7. I've seen posts like this were you open 2 tabs in Chrome. I can't open anything!! Even clicking the description of the link doesn't work.
Similar issue here...
I have noticed pretty much the same issue on my Nexus 7. Sometimes clicking just below the title of the search result works. Sometimes clicking on the actual title works. Sometimes NOTHING is clickable. Very frustrating - especially when trying to show someone how cool Google Now is!!! My Nexus 7 is totally stock too..
Hopefully they will have a fix for this soon!

Well, this problem has gone from sporadic to consistent for me. Whenever I use the Google Now Widget to search for something and results are returned, I can't click on the results at all. I called Google Support and we tried clearing the cache and data the Google Search and Chrome apps and then did a Factory Data Reset. Nothing has been able to fix this for me. It totally seems like a software bug since generally everything else seems to function alright. Given this, I'm really surprised the Factory Data Reset didn't fix it for me.
Since I bought the Nexus 7 at Staples and I'm outside of the 14 day return policy (by just 1 darn day!!!), they said that they can't even exchange it for me. So now, I have to send it into Asus to have it "repaired".
Is anyone else having this issue?
For the record, I'm never buying anything electronic or of any significant value from Staples again!

I recently stumbled across this bug as well and chalked it up to being software related too. But whereas some people seem to have sporadic results, I can NEVER click my Google Now search results. I'm quite baffled that a factory reset didn't work and was actually about to do it myself, but if there's no guarantee that it'll solve the problem then it wouldn't be worth it. Honestly, I wouldn't send it to Asus to get it repaired because the issue might simply pop up again. I'm wondering if only a small minority is experiencing this problem though or if people just don't realize it yet (as I haven't really used much of Google Now). In any case, I hope this issue gets resolved soon.
EDIT: This must definitely be a software bug because I might have found a way to possibly resolve the issue. I activated Google Now, hit the menu button on the bottom right, went to "settings" then "privacy and accounts." Here, there should be an option for "Search on google.com." Mine was initially unchecked, but I simply checked the option again. Doing this, Google Now seems to now allow me to touch/click results. I should add that when I went back and unchecked the option, the issue did not return. So, regardless of what the option is set at for you guys, I would simply check or uncheck and try it seeing if that resolves the issue. I hope this works for others!

I'm experiencing the same problems (can't click on standard web search results in Google Now, but can in Chrome). The above fix doesn't work for me (I don't have that showing up in my privacy settings on my Google Account, but then again I don't even have "search plus your world" available in my apps account yet).
Here's an interesting twist though: If I perform the following search in Google Now:
xda nexus 7 google now can't click on results
I can't click the results. However the first result will include "More results from forum.xda-developers.com". If I click that link, it's not only clickable, but the results on the next page are all clickable.
Again, I'm on a Google Apps account, fwiw.
---------- Post added at 11:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 PM ----------
One other interesting point: navigating through the Google Now results using an external keyboard (just cursoring up and down), I can select and enter any result without problems.
I think I may have figured out how to get search results clickable again...
1) Go into Settings->Privacy and accounts
2) Uncheck "Show recent searches"
3) Back out to the home screen
4) Try your search again and you should be able to click on the search results
This seems to do the trick for me. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you guys.

Fix Does not work for me
Still can't click on results.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with having a second browser (Dophin) installed.
Maybe tablet does not know which to use?
When clicking on OTHER links tablet asks whether to complete the action with Chrome or Dolphin. Obviously when pressing on a Google now result that question does not pop up and the results are not clickable.
Maybe I will uninstall Dolphin and see if that helps
Thank you for the fix

It works but I was confused by your directions. From settings, go to Accounts Google, then Search, which then takes you to Privacy & Accounts.
This was very frustrating problem. I called Google Nexus Tech Support and talk about a useless rep. I can't believe others aren't complaining about the same problem.
As the title states I have been having problems with Google now since the update to 4.1.2. I'm am running unrooted life stock Jelly Bean and the issue I am having seems to be Google now hanging up while attempting to answer a question. The questions that start with a "Who is" seems to cause it the most trouble. Once I ask the question it will ding to show it accepted the question but then it will just spin looking for an answers without ever answering the question. This issue could also likely be attributed to the October 29 voice search update Google pushed through the place store.
I never had this issue until I upgraded, so I am asking the community of experts here.
Have you encountered this issue?
If you have how did you fix it?
Than you guys for reading and sorry for the post length.

Hey, I'm having the same problem - I have also tried reverting the app back, reinstalling the update, factory wipe of the nexus 7 and wiped cache etc. No luck here I HAVE found that if you ask (by voice) something like "how tall was Napoleon Bonaparte" it works perfectly and very quickly. Also, while web search does not work 99 percent of the time (I find it does after a reboot for one go then stops working) image search through Google search works perfectly.
This only happens with Google search, not chrome.
Let me know if you find a solution.

Having search problems here also.
Basically, hasn't worked for me since day 1 after purchasing the 32GB version this past Tuesday & installing 4.1.2 JB.
Same symptoms - whether type or voice search using the search box at top of the screens: hangs on web search & other search with link tabs at bottom giving no results.
Image searches do produce results though...odd.

There it is at settings>google>search>search on google.com... check this option.
It is also at Google app settings in Privacy & accounts

I just did it, and for some strange reason it WORKS...i've done at least 5 searches, vague ones, and it searched the web. THANKS!!!
EDIT: But NOW, it won't do the voiceback like "What is 3 times 3" it should come back with "The answer is 9" now it just does a web search...
EDIT2: Ok I rebooted device after checking and UNCHECKING the option, and it works TOTALLY now. I am a happy camper ^_^
Thanks guys for all the responses, I am glad I am not alone in this. It seems like it's getting better but the voice search is still not performing the way it used to. If I try to search for info on say Micheal Jordan, it doesnt read back his information like it used to. I don't get the card anymore either I just get the google search. I hope they find a fix for this soon.
My wife is having one small issue with her new Nexus 4 - not rooted yet - and I'm curious if anyone here has experienced this. In her Settings, the "Automatic Date and Time" selection wants to keep un-selecting which forces her to go back in and re-select it. She's noticed this maybe 3-4 times in the week she's had her new phone. I did a cursory search of this forum (and the General forum) and the Google support page but came up empty. Has anyone else seen this or maybe even be able to provide a solution?

This might not be a Nexus 4 specific question but it's starting to bother me quite a bit.
A few days ago, I was browsing XDA on the Chrome Beta browser. I might have (not sure) accidentally tapped on an advertisement. It lead me to some URL that was related to adtrack.king that would popup, and then the Play Store would come up to get me to download Candy Crush. I've tried deleting the browsing data in the privacy settings of Chrome, as well as going into settings, then deleting all data from Chrome. It works for a bit but when I try to get back onto XDA, the popup happens again and again it tries to get me to download Candy Crush.
This link from the Google forums is an example of what happens. You can search on the internet and there have been many people complaining about this both on Android and iOS, but I have not been able to find a fix for it.
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/EDJTbPaW5dg
For now it seems it only happens on XDA forums, but from reading up on the internet, it seems it appears with whatever forum that people originally get the issue from (ie. if someone got it from a car forum, it would be whenever they go on the car forum that the popup would occur).
EDIT: OK, I've noticed that it is specifically the page that I first experienced the issue that the popup ad will occur. I first experienced it on my phone when reading the dbrand skins thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095261&page=245) that the popup will occur. I start looking at any other XDA page and it won't happen but it's in that specific thread that it will happen. I'm starting to think this is linked with Chrome along with pages on a forum that a person will view.
EDIT #2: Here's a video of someone on an iPhone that experiences exactly the same thing. Only difference is that I'm on Android, and that it leads me to the Play Store to download the game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGJhYq95IFo
This is the URL of the popup (DO NOT CLICK IT): http://adtrack.king.com/modules/adtracking/adclicked.jsp?type=ad&st1=hitfox&st2=candycrushsaga&st3=us$st4=&st5=aff_lsr&st6=102917ff4f43ecab466d8a83825d58&link=market://details?id=com.king.candycrushsaga
That popup will occur before Play Store opening up to Candy Crush
Does NO ONE else know what I'm talking about or something? Just throw "adtrack.king" into Google search and there's plenty of hits.
I got the same thing too, and I'm pretty sure I don't click any add while browsing

OK, I see in my initial post I said I accidentally tapped an app and that might have confused you guys, I meant I might have accidentally tapped an advertisement, not an app when browsing XDA. The popup is always to some adtrack.king thing and it leads to the Play Store opening trying to get me to download Candy Crush.

I'll try that out, but I feel like the problem will still be there, it's just blocking. In the sense that I think there's something wrong with the cookies but at least this does prevent the ad.
Has no one else seriously experienced this? I find PLENTY of Google hits but none with a solution for it. No, clearing cookies & browsing history does not fix it.
Open 2nd tab with any adress, close the aftrack-tab and restart your browser.

I have had the same problem on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and this is how I solved it.
On your home page, tap on the symbol of two rectangles in the lower left corner, this will bring up several icons on the left side of the screen.
In my case, I found the Candy Crush icon, I noticed the word "network" beside the CC icon before I deleted it, (this identity may be different on your device) hold finger on icon, and tap "remove from list".
At the bottom left tap "task manager". This will bring up a list, select "downloaded". Find an icon on the right that has the same identity you noticed along with the CC icon before you removed it. When you find it , regardless of what app is associated with it, tap "uninstall".
In my case the app was a game my grandkids downloaded called "Plants vs Zombies".
After following the above, the Candy Crush item was gone when I started my device. This was three days ago and it hasn't occurred again.
Hope this helps.
I get it using aosp browser from this site... Also on my PC using opera, it asks to opena file called 'push' fairly often when opening an xda page
Just use file manager and try to find the ad and delete it or install appbrain ad dectector

stupid ad
i finally got rid of it! it was popping up each time someone would call me on my s3. the popup ad covered up accecpt/ deny with its own interface. tricking users to press on popups answer key which took you straight to candy crush game. luckily i had just pressed back each time it popped up. Today i missed a very important phonecall and i am sick of it! so, 1st i cleared all the data cache, cookies etc.. from all browsers I use . That didnt help.so, I just manually looked for shady apps installed from apks. i uninstalled nearly half of my apps . oh well. anyhow the culprit was a app called "MUZ" i have never used it before didnt even know it was there. as soon as i uninstalled that app popup went away immediately.
hope this helps anyone.
I downloaded OI File Manager and saw a folder named .adc and it had all of the jpg's and videos from the pop ups so I just deleted it from the person's GS3 that had the problem. I need more time to see if it is a long term solution but for now it looks as if it works.

anybody truly figure this out yet?
Idea
Yeah, I'm having the same problem.
I'm also thinking that we are looking at the problem incorrectly. Candy Crush Saga is just a red herring, the problem is having a link/page able to automatically launch the Play Store in the first place.
So I would submit that we need some way to modify the association to the "market://" protocol in Android itself.
I have this happen at LEAST once a day, and it's always annoying.
Anyone with MIME experience in Linux/Android that can point us at modifying this?
THANKYOU!

anybody else having this issue?
today suddenly i can't use xda on my computer..
sort of..
i can log in but where i mostly can see how many pages a topic has behind the topic title and immediately go to the last page for instance now those pages are gone.
i can click the topic title and it opens but all i can see is the main/first post, all other posts are invisible, i can't see any page numers on the top or bottom and i see a button on the top wwich says thread closed.
but the strange thing is i can access every topic/and see all the pages thru tapatalk on my mobile..
is there anybody that has a clue what's wrong?
thanks in advance for all the help!
edit:
never mind, i got it working again.. it's still really strange because i haven't changed anything but it had something to do with the option how to display threads. i went back and forth changing some settings and suddenly it's back in the old setup.
but hey, who cares.. it's working again!
