Does Light flow works fine for you guys. I just have a small problem, when I turn on the pulse notification light, light flow works fine fine but I see the white light blinking all the time when the screen is off. If I disable pulse notification light to get rid of the white light, light flow stops working

I tried Light flow once and it made my touchscreen not respond...
Wasn't working properly for me. Kept flashing the gmail notification whenever the screen went off, so I just disabled the app altogether for now. Works fine on my N4 though.
I'm having problems with light flow too but I'm not sure it's a problem with the app. Before I installed it I was having intermittent problems with the LED and I don't know if these are the cause of the light flow problems. I have contacted the vendor to see if they can help. My issues include LED sometimes not working and notification sleep periods not working. You might want to try the LED tester app to see if that sheds any light on your problems (no pun intended!)
Light flow will flash a with led if the apps logging function is turn on.

For everyone having the problem on the continuously blinking white/light pink LED whenever the screen is off: It's from a notification for "No signal" which apparently applies to cellular signal, so unless they change this to include a Wifi signal then this notification will always blink on our wifi-only devices
It works for me but in my gnex it produces a solid light and in the Nexus 10 it blinks... Is there a way of making it solid in the N10?

My light flow is sort of working. It is blinking for the apps I have it set up for, but not always the color I have chosen. I think this is do to an Android 4.2 thing, not so much as the Nexus 10 itself. I am finding several apps that do not behave properly with 4.2.

It seems some colors don't work. I had orange selected and it showed white for my notification. I changed it to bright pink and now it shows that color just fine.

I think I've found the trigger. If I turn the device completely off, and turn it back on with the charger plugged in, notifications work. If I turn it back on with the charger unplugged, notifications do not work.
Other things I have tried which made no difference included factory reset and factory reflash.
Can some other folks see if their behavior matches mine? I have a replacement device being shipped to me, but if this is a software problem I'd rather not swap hardware. I'm very curious to hear if there are any devices that have a working LED under both boot up scenarios.

Is the LED below the screen supposed to function as a notification light? I ask because I haven't seen it light up even once for anything. Not when charging, nor when there are new emails, messages, etc. Heck, does it work at all?

I see the notification light blink white when I have a new email from Gmail. Do you have Settings->Display->Pulse notification light enabled?
I guess you should make sure you have email notifications (do you hear sounds?) on as well.
I to have yet to see this notification light. I do have Pulse notifications enabled and yet nothing happens when charging even after the device is turned off and charging. I'm unlocked, rooted, stock, with CWM recovery.
Edit: I also do hear the notifications when receiving emails just not the light notification.

You guys are not alone. There is another thread on this issue. Seems that the LED, for some of us, works sometimes but often does not work at all. There is an app called LED tester (free) that you can use to see what the situation is with your LED. Note that installing Light Flow is not a solution - when the LEDs are not working they will not be working under Light Flow control. So far I haven't been able to spot what triggers the LEDs to start or to stop working. Restarts seems to have no effect. With mine, when they work they work for a day or two then abruptly stop and stay stopped for a day or so.
A number of people seem to be affected by this but there is no indication yet whether this is a software bug (hopefully) or a dodgy hardware batch.
Mines been working since day one... Installed light flow and kept on moving

I've never seen the LED on mine, LED tester does nada! I'm hoping it's software but ultimately not too concerned, not a feature I care too much about.

Where is the light supposed to show up?
My notification light works, alas on both the N10 and the GN it *never* blinks on the first notification it should report after a reboot. From the 2nd time onwards it works as intended.
Didn't even realize this had an led...so guess mines never lit up either

By default, the notification lights only show up when the screen is off... and the moment you power on and reach your lockscreen, they go off... in my custom ROM, I have an option to enabled the notifications lights when the screen is on as well...

No kidding, I had to go look in the little book to see where the led even was!
I disabled it due to constant pulsing...mine works TOO good.
Looks like mine doesn't work. Even after using light works app. This may push me to exchange this now along with light bleed problem that is pretty visible.

Coming from HTC Evo 3D, i've grown to love the LED notification showing red whenever the phone is being charge, and so far the only disappointment with my Nexus device is, that there's no idication from the LED wether the phone is being charged or if it's fully charged. I am simply wondering if it's possible to add that feature with a little application? If someone has done it before, could they please assist me.

My Nexus 4 just arrived and while playing with it I noticed that the notification LED was nowhere near as bright (50%) as my Nexus 3 (Galaxy Nexus). It also flashes at a much slower rate than the GNex!
Is this normal?

It's really hard to see the light in a bright room and the reduced frequency means that the notification could be missed easily.

Just install light flow mate. As someone else said you can have a different color for each notification and you can set now fast it blinks.
You can even set the light to be solid so it doesn't even blink.
When you set colours they are a lot easier to see than the white ish one that's stock.

Light manager works well too. I like it better than light flow because it doesn't drain as much battery
These apps from the playstore drain too much battery. You can get almost the same control over your LED if you flash a ROM like CM or ParanoidAndroid, you will find the preferences for LED under display in those ROMs

That appears to be a Motorola-specific feature, not baked into 4.3. Granted I would not be surprised to see that feature become standard in a future version, but it isn't right now. From a user front-end perspective 4.3 changes almost nothing.

From playing around with it, it seems it only pulses when the screen is off. If you get an email notification and your screen turns on, it won't show. Try waiting until the screen dims after. It should be near the base where the charging port is. I almost missed it since it's so low!

Thanks. I was able to force it on with the app, so I finally see where it is located and can verify it works.
I have to say, I'm not to impressed with it. It's so dim that I don't think I would notice it unless looking for it. The notification light on my phone is about 100x brighter.
Mine seems to be broken. I tried this app and turned off the screen and I still see nothing.
It also has speakers. Test them in poweramp music player with high volume.
I didn't have to enable it either.
Seems a bit random to me.
Or very strange (for instance: red color for charging; orange would be better in this case).

Here is a list of the default colors:
Blue:
Pulses in multi-tone blue while the device is turning on or off.
Blinks blue for a missed call, message or other notification.
Blinks blue when you are recording a voice.
Red:
Glows red when the device is connected to a charger and is charging.
Blinks red when the device is connected to a charger but there is a problem with charging.
Blinks red when the battery is low.
Green:
Glows green when the device is connected to a charger and the battery is fully charged.
I hope this helps
