Hi everyone,
I've already asked a similar question concerning the Asus transformer tablet and now I'm wondering if the same applies to the galaxy tab. Basically, what are the chances of a decent discount price in the next few weeks before I return home to NZ? I'm located in Manhattan at the moment.

The best I could find after looking since black Friday was 50.00 off so when best buy had it on sale yesterday I finally picked one up!

Staples had a $100 of any tablet in august so I picked up a new one then for $399

In Canada, Either Best Buy or Futureshop had $100 off the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as well as many other tablets.

100$ for 16gigs of space? Rip off. They purposefully left the sdcard slot out to lure us into this cash cow just like apple. Samsung should know better. My phone has more gigs...and a faster, better processor at that! The tab still is the best honeycomb out there tho.

Consider it a "ripoff" if you want. For my thinking the only way to get the space is to buy it with the tablet. I'd rather spend $100 now than run short of space later.

My phone has 40GB of space. But, it doesn't have a Tegra2, and I doubt yours does as well.
However, the GTab 10.1 rocks, with Task's ROM. Who cares how much storage is local? Storage comes and goes. I have servers with 32GB of RAM and terabytes of disk. Yet 16GB onboard is more than sufficient for my tablet.

Got my 64GB A500 @ Futureshop fof $399.99
Got my 32gb A500 for 330$ (tab+tax+shipping) at Acer's official outlet store at ebay (seller: acer). Refurb, of course, but its working properly.
So looks like Best Buy will be selling a new 16GB TF300 on Black Friday for $279.00. The dock is an additional $99.00
What's new about this TF300 is that it will be black, a color that Best Buy is touting as an exclusive.

Look around for a pristine TF201 and you'll have a far better deal than the plastic body, crappy screened TF300

Yep, that's the one I ended up with. Took the 16gb back to Best Buy the next day and got the one from Office depot. 16 more gb's for $20 was a great deal. I'll be checking with Office depot from now on.

That is similar to what happened to me. I got mine from Staples and had the clerk price match to the best buy deal. It wasn't until I got home that I realized the clerk had given me the 32gb model which my local Staples was selling for $399.99. Regardless of the price, I am very happy with my purchase. This is a great tablet and I am excited to get back into the android dev world!
WM had them for 319 for two days. That's where I got mine.
Nice to see that quite a few people have purchased the tf300t.

I got a similar deal off amazon. It was a 32mb for $319. The office depo deal would have been around that once you add tax. I am VERRY happy with this tablet!
In case anyone was wondering Bestbuy.com was selling the black tf300t for $279 all weekend with free shipping and they never sold out. Amazing deal! I purchased mine on monday.

Hate to say it, but I'm kinda regretting the purchase. Unfortunately after using higher DPI 7 inch tablets and an iPad 3, I am struggling with the fonts on the TF300. It's not just web browsing, but fonts almost everywhere look terrible. Twitter is making my eyes bleed.
And the tablet is surprisingly slower than I expected. I set it to performance mode, but couldn't see a difference.

Now that's strange because mine are great. I'm also running a custom ROM with an overclocked kernel and my tablet is fast as can be. I'm getting some great benchmark scores too.

I have compared the tf300 to an Amazon kindle fire (which has a damn high pixel density)
I prefer the screen on the tf300

DPI on the Kindle Fire isn't that good either. You mean the Fire HD? I have the Fire HD and to the screen is a helluva lot better on that the TF300.

Yeah, I'm gonna need to get a custom ROM and kernel on this. Stock experience is pretty slow for something with a Tegra 3 in it.

Has the Note 10.1 price dropped everywhere, because I was just on Amazon and the 16gb is now 450 and the 32gb is 500.

It's because I finally bought one the other day. Every time I buy something, it goes on sale the next week or so. At least I got mine at Costco, so it was about the same price after tax.

I got mine around Christmas for $450 at best buy. Two weeks later the same store was selling them for $400. I brought in my reciept and they gave me the difference in cash Then after Christmas they were back at $450 and have been ever since!

Noticed the price drop too. I bought mine when it came out for 550€ and now it is 350€. (16GB 3G version) I never saw such a huge price drop on a tablet/smartphone I owned before.

The unveiling of the note 8 seems to have had a positive affect for consumers. Most major retailers dropped their price on the note 10.1 late last week, right before MWC started in Barcelona. The note 8 was unveiled by Samsung at MWC over the weekend. This week, they should be unveiling a successor to the SGIII and a new 10-inch tab (no successor to the note 10.1 is expected this year; CES 2014 is the likely venue where any upgrade to the note 10.1 would be revealed).

Really? There is no expected successor this year for the note 10.1? I was holding out getting one because I thought they would release a new one pretty soon. Where did you see that there wouldn't be a successor anytime soon?

Picked up a black one last week from Newegg. Loving it so far. FYI, I ordered it late Wednesday evening and paid a little extra for the 3-4 day shipping and I received it Friday morning.

That's The Final Nail In The Proverbial Coffin..
BestBuy has phased out the 8.3 completely on the U.S. West Coast.. There is ZERO supply available.
This makes the Newegg the sole supplier of V500 tablets in the U.S. and they are on "Fire Sale" there as well.
The Clock is Ticking.
I order mine and it will be this Tue.
Why is it on a fire sale? I am happy with the price and the black one is on sale again for same price.
I hope these sold well so LG will make a new one. I'm troubled by Samsung might be pushing out other manufacturers with their attack of the every size tablet. This is my first LG Android device and I like the lack of bloatware and smoothness it has. My only complaint is about the screen and the problem is software related (gamma) and not hardware related. LG could fix it by offering screen profiles like many LCD/TV manufacturers already do.
Went to Best Buy and they price matched it. I'm loving it.
