[INFO] Buy Windows 8 this year or never - Windows 8 General

If you want Windows 8, buy it this year, or never:
Box-Version
Windows 8: 119,99 Euro
Windows 8 Pro: 279,99 Euro
Download-Version
Windows 8: 119,99 Euro
Windows 8 Pro: 279,99 Euro
On the 01.02.2013 Microsoft will raise the prices for Windows 8. The start price is 29,99 € for Windows 8 Pro. That means it's very cheap! Cheaper than Windows 7 Home Premium. But next year it will be raised, it costs 250 € more than now.
So buy Windows 8 Pro now, if you want it.
Or wait for next year, if you're rich and are ready to pay 279,99 €

I'm wondering about the $69 Update...

I have 3 systems ( 2 64 bit, 1 32bit ), to move up from Windows 7.
I will guess to stay legal and legit I will have to buy 3 copies of the upgrade??
Will there be a multi Licence option?
Also for home networking 1 version must be Pro?????
Asus i5 Main PC
Acer Revo my second
Samsung N150 Netbook
How would you handle such a home set up?
The upgrade is $40 if you have XP/Vista/7, and $15 if you've bought your PC in the last few months. I'm not so sure where you got $69 fee from.
I'm not sure how multiple licenses are handled.
There are two versions of Windows 8 you are concerned with: Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.
Windows 8 is like Windows 7 Home Premium, except with a few extra features from Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate. There's also all the new Windows 8 stuff of course
Windows 8 Pro has everything Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate, as well as a bunch of new stuff.
You can home network with any version of Windows 8. You do not need Pro.
This doesn't matter, though, because no matter what previous version of Windows you have, the $40 upgrade will get you Windows 8 Pro.

I think the $69 upgrade is after the promotional period (January). That is what Newegg will reportedly sell the upgrade disks for.
69$ is the actual price for Windows 8 Pro (like on amazon.com) and the 40$ upgrade is the special offer from Microsoft through their Windows 8 Upgrade Assistent (only until 01/2013).
So far, all the methods to purchase Windows 8 at launch are for single-PC licenses only. If you are upgrading from Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, you can upgrade to Windows 8 for $39.99 (downloadable upgrade), or get a packaged disc/product for $69.99 at retail locations.
This is all promotional pricing that lasts until January 31st mind you, so buy quickly.
Microsoft is making a System Builder license available to those who are not upgrading from a previous version of Windows, which means you can probably get multiple copies for cheap. I am not 100% on the details since I don't have to pay for my copies of Windows, but you may want to look into System Builder licenses.
Great news! According to this official blog, the $40 upgrade will get you 5 licenses! Excellent!

I have read through this blog and I do not see where it says that the $40 is for 5 licenses. You are limited to buying 5 at the sale price per customer but you still have to buy a license per machine.

[Q] Recommended Windows tablet for under $150?

Hi all,
I have heard that Windows has cut the licensing fee for manufactures who would like to produce Windows tablets with a scree below 9 inches at a budget price (under $200)...
Can anyone suggest such a tablet? (I really can't spend more than $150 dollars, so I would also consider Windows RT if anyone knows of any cheap but decent products...)
Thanks guys
If you wait for the right deal, you can probably get a Lenovo Miix 2 or Dell Venue 8 Pro for around $175-$189.
If you really are firm on the $150 price point, you may want to buy one used. A lot of people pawn off the free Office 2013 license that comes with these tablets and sell the tablet on fleabay afterwards.
I own both tablets, and highly recommend them, for Windows 8.1 solo or dual-booting Android. They can even do Netflix HTML5 streaming with gusto on Chrome 38.

Honor 8 UK sale 25th Nov 2016 only!!

Saw this over at GSM Arena site www.gsmarena.com
Honor 8 via Vmall UK at a discount price for one day only 25th November 2016.
Huawei, or rather its Honor sub-brand is gearing up for a rather impressive Black Friday sales event. It will kick off at 8 AM on November 25 and extend all the way to midnight on November 28. That means, it is technically a Cyber Monday sale as well, but the again we doubt anyone will be keeping track.
The deals will be available through vMall. As for the price drops themselves, they are quite substantial. The flagship Honor 8, for one, will go for GBP 299.99, which is down GBP 70 from its regular GBP 369.99.
There is a deal for the Honor 5c as well. You can save GBP 20 on it now GBP 129

Good deal... :good:
We had a deal in India for Honor 8 which reduced its price to ?5000 ( Around 70$) by Nov 14th. Now also its reduced to ?3000 (50$) at Tata Cliq.
So its a great deal everywhere.
Also I do think that this offer price is the correct price for Honor 8.
