Does anyone have a soulotion to this issue? It is driving me nuts!
Flash a custom rom
try to install zdbox, then place the widget 4x2 in your desktop
it has an option for the screen rotation
I don't know what is with all those solutions^ ?
no offense to the members, but HE IS already on a custom ROM and rom rotation is built in, no need for third party apps.

Lol I was wondering that as well, those solutions seemed a bit weird :L I thought I had misread the title or the OP.

My legend won't flip 90degrees (horizontal) when i hold it that way when im looking at photo's or typing a message, it worked before but suddenly it doesnt anymore?
Is there any setting i dind't find? Could it be caused by an app(e.g. Swype, Swiftkey)
there are some apps which can disallow auto rotation, do you have switchpro or some other (auto rotate) toggle widget? If you don't you can try downloading one and toggle it so it would allow it. maybe there is some setting in your phone which can do that but mine is getting repaired so I can't check it atm.

First off, i'm dutch so i have an android phone with dutch language, and boldly translated it's:
settings > sound and display > stance
(in dutch: Instellingen > geluid en weergave > stand)
Guess, that's why i cound't find it...
I installed the froyo beta, and ever since then, my phone won't auto rotate anymore. Ive already ODINed back to stock, it still wont work Any ideas or help?
-Edit-
I downloaded Accelerometer Test to make sure that the accelerometer wasn't busted. It's working fine. The phone just will not rotate.
Only two things I can think of:
1: Go to settings > Sound and Display > Make sure Orientation is checked.
2: (If using Launcher Pro). Menu button while on homescreen > Preferences > Behavior Settings > make sure Enable Auto-rotation is checked.
Other than that, no idea :\

On stock, the homescreens wont rotate unless the keyboard is slid out.
Is it rotating on the browser and on pictures?

No. And if i slide the keyboard out, it rotates. But then it gets stuck in landscape unless i go to something that forces portrait mode, such as the home screen.

Ah if its even getting stuck in landscape mode than its got to be something framework or .apk related.
Beats me, sorry man :\ Hope someone is able to help you more so than I could.

1. Download a terminal app from the market
2. Enter one line at a time.
su
/system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha
3. Follow the onscreen directions, while making sure you device is flat.
pay attention to the bump at bottom on back.
I hung said bump off the edge of table
I preformed this AFTER flashing to stock and then flashing my former ROM.
So it was not done in 2.2"

THANK YOU! I had the same problem and this fixed it. Of course, i had to root my shizzle again. By chance did anyone with this problem run the Froyo 2.2 built-in calibration before this came about?
Oh wow, thank you so much!! The fix using the terminal emulator totally worked for me too, I thought I was going to have to go back to stock to see if it would fix itself! After running the lines in the terminal, it still wouldn't automatically detect orientation, so went to the display settings, unchecked orientation, and checked it again, and now works perfectly! The lack of orientation was so frustrating, especially after using the keyboard and the only way to fix it was turning off the screen... thanks again!
Does this increase the speed of rotating in froyo beta cuz i noticed the rotating is really slow

This helped for me. I was having the slow rotation problem as well. This fixed it. I didn't see results right away though. Took a few minutes and a restart to work

Just wanted to bump this. I had issues with auto rotation broken after going to DK28 and downgrading back to DI18.
I didn't test if it fixed it or not, however it did remove the annoying lag on DK28 when the screen rotates. Only reason I was downgrading
What terminal app did you use?
It says "su" is not found

I just upgraded my HD2 from Gingerbread to Jellybean 4.2.2. So far everything works great except for my open/close menu.
Here is a youtube link of what I am dealing with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd0ucQyyMMM&feature=c4-overview&list=UUL-MgWl4c3Iv-H1iy3YTbLA
I've installed
2.6.32_tytung_jellybean_r2
US T-mobile HD2
I've rebooted the phone many times and even tried reinstalling the ROM and I still have it.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
Thanks.
so this is about after clicking on menu button, it launches recent apps? or about the graphics glitches?
anyway, are you using the latest version of the rom?

This is about the graphics glitches. I have it so that when I hold down my menu button it takes me to the open/close menu. I have the latest version. I just checked for an update this morning and there was none.
try to remove the live wallpaper, and check force gpu drawing and similar settings in developer options and try.

Hey! Removing the live wallpaper did the trick. I don't know where to find the developer options (in settings?) but if I check the force gpu drawing like you suggested do you think that I will be able to use live wallpaper again?

Thanks! I now have developer options! I kept trying different things and finally found that disabling HW overlays fixed it! I hope that whatever that means doesn't screw up something else.
Hey, you seem to know a lot. I was also wondering if you know how to keep auto update on for the android play store but disable it for certain apps. My wife really does not like the new update to the google navigation/maops on her stock GS3 and prefers the old. I uninstalled the update to set it back but I didn't want to turn off her auto update because I know that she will never update her apps manually. Any suggestions?
@jimvsmij sorry, i have no idea about that

Open the Play Store > Go into the app you want to disable auto-update for > hit the menu button > You should find "Auto-update", uncheck it.
Other apps will update normally while this one won't.

I saw that option earlier but I thought that unchecking the auto-update would apply to all the apps.
Thanks!

the display does not rotate properly .... to make it rotate in landscape mode, I have to put it horizontally and tilt it slightly to the right ... I have to use it in a vertical turn it slightly to the right .. and hope to work properly ..
with applications that give the possibility to calibrate the sensors have not had results.
the problem occurred after uninstalling Nova launcher.
I have tried all possible solutions including reinstalling nova launcher ...
I did the flash device but without result
I do not know what more to try .... thanks for the help!

did you reflashed your device and it's still not working? or what do you mean? =)
it can be the sensor, which is broken, or you changed something in the settings. you have your rotation activated in the settings, aren't you?

Hi Guys
Over the last couple of days I've been having problems with my screen jumping a little bit when i either close an app (with the exception of chrome) to return to the home screen or if I'm in the settings and i go back a page (it jumps every time i go pack a page).
If leave the phone in sleep mode for a while, when i unlock it everything works ok for the first 5-10 seconds and then it goes back to jumping if i close an app....etc
I've been doing a bit of googling (is that a word....lol) and there's a few people with the problem but i cant find any fixes.
I'm guessing that it could be that something on the motherboard has overheated but this is just a guess.
If anyone has any ideas then please let me know ?
Also I've found a temporary cure for when it happens when i close an app by installing nova launcher and going into the “look and feel” settings and enabling “slide Up” under the “App Animation” setting.
But does anyone know of an app that will allow me to change the transition effects of windows ?
Thanks guys

you've said that you have nova launcher installed...
nova settings > desktop > scroll effect (premium version offers more transition effects)
also, go to device settings > developer tools > and set animation scales to 0.5 instead of 1
if you don't have developer options under device settings, do the following:
1. open settings menu
2. go in "about phone" submenu
3. there go in "software information" submenu
4. click 7 to 8 times quickly on "build number"
5. developer tools should now be showing just above the "about phone” in settings
DO NOT change anything else there besides that animation scale values
Thanks for the reply
Yes i have nova installed and i have it set on cube but thats just for the home screen.
What i need is an app that will let me change other screens.
For example the screens in settings.
The strange thing is that the screen only seems to jump when im going back (i think its the zoom out effect).
Ive just found an app called xuimod that u think has the oprion i need.
Ill post back if it works
Well guys....
It turns out i can do everything with xuimod so i dont even need to keep nova.
But i dont think this fix is going to last if the jumping gets worse.
So is there any known fix for the jumpy screen ?
Anyone ?
Its like a VERY mild form of whats happening to this guys phone:
