Nexus 7 boot errors - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
Im afraid i may have bricked my nexus 7 ...
I tried to flash the new clean rom 4.2 over an older rom, but now the tablet wont get past the boot screen animation and i cant even get it to boot into the recovery, when ever i try it just keeps rebooting.
I have tried this while connected to my pc as well but no joy, can this be done using fastboot as the pc does not even seem to see the nexus 7 connected
Any help would be great thanks

[Q] Nexus 7 won't boot up

Hello everyone,
I have had an issue with my nexus 7 2 days ago and couldn't figure out a way to fix it yet, so I need your help
So basically I have been flashing ROMs on my nexus 7 and everything was great no issues at all, til I accedintaly was in Recovery mode and fomatted sd and system (GOD that was stupid), so after doing so all my ROMs saved on my sd card were deleted so I am not able to flash ROMs anymore. The worest part is that even my preloaded PARANOID ANDROID Rom hasn't been able to boot up my device so it's stuck on Google boot logo.
Hence, I assume if there is a way to push ROMs while the tablet is in Recovery mode that would allow me to flash them again and the problem is sloved. However, I don't know if I am able to do that, I have tried nexus 7 toolkit and Android commander but they require USB debugging to be ON (which i am not sure if it was since last time I had this problem), and they both require the tablet to be tured on I belive in order for them to do thier magic ?? correct me if I am wrong...
Unfortuantely I didn't do Nanadroid backup
I am not able to take the tablet to Google obviousely cause i am rooted so you guys are my only hope
Thanks in advance and really appreiate it if i cab get a fast response.
Just flash the factory image from fastboot.
I use the Nexus 7 Toolkit v3.2.0 by mskip. It is amazing. It's in the development thread. You don't need adb to flash the original image. You only need to get into fastboot mode.--->
Turn off n7. Hold both volume up and down and the power button until you get into the bootloader. Then plug your n7 into USB and then launch the toolkit. Make sure your device is recognized at the top in fastboot mode. You are ready to restore the factory image.

so if anyone can help me atleast try to reinstall the stock os ......because i am a noob
You have to be in boot loader mode.

Adb has to find the device before the adb and fastboot commands will work

I did the same thing to my 7 the second day after I bought it. What you described is exactly what I had experienced. This is what I did to restore my 7. I kept holding the power button until it turned off. Afterwards, I charged it for a while cause the battery was low. Then I got the tablet to go into fastboot mode by holding volume down 1st and then the power button. After that, I flashed using the Nexus 7 toolkit. Upon flashing, download 4.1.2 firmware using the toolkit and flash that to your tablet. 4.2.1wouldn't work for me. That brought my 7 back to life in new stock form.
In conclusion, I re-rooted using the toolkit and flashed a custom 4.2.1 rom using TWRP recovery.
If you can get your 7 into fastboot and your computer still will not recognize your 7, reinstall the drivers to your computer. I used PDA drivers. That worked for me.
I hope this works for you.
Is OK guys just use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=:D

[Q] Stuck at Bootloop after Lollipop Flash Attempt

I've been researching this problem all night/morning and I'm at my wits end Hoping you guys can help me think through it..
First things first: I'm using a macbook, with the most updated version of the SDK platform tools. My nexus 7 was already rooted and flashed with a 4.4.2 ROM.
I tried to flash the Lollipop factory image onto my 2012 Nexus 7 Wifi yesterday by running './flash-all.sh'. First few times, it errored out (alternating between 'broken pipe' errors and fastboot just flat out not seeing my device). Finally, after rebooting my laptop and continuously running 'fastboot devices' until a device Id actually turned up, I managed to run ./flash-all.sh
The script progressed, errored out on flashing the boot loader, successfully erased pretty much everything including recovery, flashed the system image, and then failed while trying to validate the bootloader version (since it had errored out).
Now I'm stuck in a situation where 'fastboot devices' does not return anything (I've tried 3 different USBs and every single port on 2 different macbook + a linux tower) and I can't get into recovery because it errors out with a 'boot failed' message over the 'Google' icon screen.
I've ruled out the possibility of a driver issue since I'm on a macbook, although I'm going to try installing hte SDK onto my Windows 7 tower later tonight, just to see what happens. Can anyone think of anything else I can try to recover my Nexus 7? I dont even care about flashing Lollipop will do haha.. even stock is fine.

[Q] NEXUS 4 Stuck in bootloop + PC wont recognize phone

I changed a cracked screen on a Nexus 4. I have done this before with no problems. It is not rooted and locked to a carrier. Now it is stuck in bootloop.
Now the real problem is that even though the phone will take a charge, when I connect it to a PC it the PV doesnt see the phone and it doesn't show up in file folders or in Nexus Toolkit.
So I cannot access ADB either since the PC doesn't see the device and same with Nexus Toolkit.
I can boot into recovery mode but it goes to Android man on back with red flag and "No Command Found" message.
I have spent a week on this. Who out there knows what the hell I can do. I have thought about swapping out the charger port to see if thats why the pc isnt seeing the phone...I am stumped. Help would be very appreciated folks.
Thanks

What happened to this? I have the same damn issue. Although I managed to get fastboot and adb functionality with great difficulty. But the device doesn't seem to be able to boot into anything. I've tried every single thing software by the book, and by the forums too. I suspect it might be hardware.
Any luck?

[Q] Stuck in bootloader

Okay so my brother got an update for his nexus 7 to 5.1 I believe it was. Anyways for whatever reason the update has failed and the tablet will no longer load up to android. Just gets stuck on the boot up screen. I can access fastboot and recovery mode but recovery is saying no command and my pc doesn't recognize the nexus 7 so using adb doesn't seem to be an option. I've gone through and updated all the drivers needed to see the tablet. I'm wondering how in the world do I factory reset this thing? I'm like at a loss so if you can help much thanks to you.
