Well apparently they were all sold out so many devs (me included) were not able to get their hands on a Nexus 4.

The is a huge majority of people who have not even received their device yet.

I'm referring to the phone not the carrier. But thanks for that.

Is the 8gb model faster?

So far I have used about 8 nexus 4's ( I keep ordering replacements to keep them ). And I don't know how to test this but all the 8gb just feel quite a bit faster.
Anyone else feel the same, also I tried stock and then rooted to cm10.1 mako all the same way.

I know if there was a difference it could not be major but maybe storage is a different make or something. I want to find out what is the best test that could determine this.

And people wonder why they are still waiting. I'm no stick up the @$$ but 8 come on dude I can see 1 or 2 but its obvious you are just buying them to jack up the price at the expense of others who need their device or really need an RMA.

Yes I'm the bad guy because I have to lie to Google to get more to help people in need. Who cares what happens with phone it makes somebody happy. Blame Google not me I am just a guy trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents.
Anyway does anyone feel the 8gb is faster. Also just got a mercury slim case on amazon I have to say in white or black this is the best case hands down. I pretty much ordered every single one. Guess that makes me a douche because I gave a company money in exchange for a product.

It sounds like you're suggesting the nand chip is faster in the 8gb. We would need people to do file storage benchmark to confirm your claim.

I had a play with both model, and to me they felt the same...
The only way I can describe it is on the 16 once in a while it will lag for a second or two but on the 8gb I never get it.

wow
You found a way to screw a system that was meant to help people, for your own gain. That's what makes you the d-bag.
Anyways, not certain of any correlation. As another guy said, it may just be the placebo effect.
Somehow I get a feeling this is some kind of strange trolling.
Like those messages about 21xC devices without sparkling back.
Here is why: the OP goes through his 4-th device (implying he is getting replacements) and somehow manages to get his 16gb replaced with 8gb. Which is somewhat strange and I suppose such an event would trigger a very different post.

No actually it would not seeing how much I can sell one for. And if you guys don't think a lot of people are doing this now you lying to yourself. There are a ton of nexus 4's on eBay for sale buy one now and sell yours when you get it maybe you even make a profit.
My nexus 4 and my girlfriends nexus were free and that was my goal. There is no excuse for not having a nexus 4 if you really wanted one. I'm so sure I somehow jammed the system all across the world. Sorry that life has not been fair to your pursuit for a nexus 4. I'm sure someone starving in a poor country could feel your pain, I mean what a tragedy. Maybe I should just call the police and turn myself in.
Then when you break your nexus 4 that is super fragile you will wonder why you even bothered.

& to the question of 8 vs 16 gig performance... figure that out yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you're not worth the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And somehow I worse than the guy that orders 1 nexus 4 and has it replaced 3 times because it has a "flaw". Knowing damn well this is a 300 dollar phone and expecting iPhone 5 quality. I mean does anyone remember all you guys who kept replacing your nexus 7.
All of this is driven by hype and I blame Google for not making more so you can get it in your hand and realize its not all that and your tears were not needed.

I usually switch phones every 4 months but since I got my nexus 4 I do not feel like getting rid of the nexus 4. Anybody else feels the same out there?

I do too. Except for the limited battery capacity, the phone feels great. You get to do what you like with it, no oem restrictions and always the first to get software updates.
I too am that type of person but I'm really enjoying the nexus!

Pretty much this. I'll probably just stick with whatever the latest Nexus is.
Unfortunately I don't feel the same way. This HTC One is calling me and I must get it.

I was drooling over the HTC One when I first heard of it. But then I thought "Mine is better cuz it's cheaper, *****es".
(I still secretly love the HTC One tho. Please don't tell it to myself or I'll regret buying the N4)

i do... abit for the Z
The Nexus 4 is the perfect phone for me, no doubt about it.
However, being the tech geek that I am there is no doubt in my mind I will grab the Nexus 5 about 6 months after it's released (I don't want to deal with launch-day drama and hardware issues which always seem to plague the initial Nexus releases)
I can say, however, that I will only be buying Nexus phones from now on since they have finally stepped up to the plate with decent hardware and specs. The Gnex was a massive disappointment to me, I sold it within four months of owning it.
Same for me. I had the one x for the last year but it has started giving me trouble by not recognizing the Sim card was in the slot.
I was torn between the nexus 4. HTC one and the galaxy s4.
After much deliberation I went with the nexus 4 and I'm so glad I did.
I owned the nexus one before so I am already accustomed to the nexus experience.
I honestly didn't expect the 4 to be so much better than the one x. Snappier. Better gaming performance and longer battery life.
I'm so glad I switched

About the nexus 4?

Would it be smarter for me to order the nexus 4 or just get the s4? Can any of you give me some of your input on the nexus 4 since you've had yours? Are you pleased with it or do you sometimes regret your decision on getting the nexus 4? One more thing, right now I have the s3 and is no 4g really that much of a dealbreker?
Do a search as this question has been asked quite a few times....but in a nutshell if you prefer vanilla over bloatware, great dev support and the latest updates as soon they are released then get a nexus....can't really speak on the s4. Hope it helps..

Dude the S4 is so crippled and packed with 7GB of OS and mostly bloatware that you have too root it and strip down all the not needed apps and widgets. I had all the Galaxy devices but i`am gona skip the S4. The Nexus 4 is realy a breath of fresh air and 50% cheaper. I had the S3 too but wouldnt trade my N4 for one.

I have the 16Gb for a few dollars more, 8 GB is a bit to small for me personaly. About 3 GB is for the OS so 12,8 GB remains for the user. On the 8GB one you have 4,8 GB left.

Ok. No update to the N4, I just went from the n4 to the ONE. it's not worth the $300 difference.
Tapatalk and some apps other is actually slower. The screen is nicer but the camera might actually be worse. It camera is soft under certain conditions and very poor lens flaring.

[Q] 32GB rumour

Hey all. I know we're all really excited for Google I/O and I was just wondering how accurate the 32GB Nexus 4 rumour was. My GS3 was sent for repair yesterday (for the second time in a year) and was seriously considering getting a Nexus. If there is a bigger storage option being unveiled then I'd quite appreciate it, but if it's unlikely I'll make do with the 16GB. What do people think?
Sure you can't wait another 5 days? https://developers.google.com/events/io/
We have a thread like this already.

I wasn't just asking about whether it's definite. I also wanted to know what you guys thought of it as an S3 replacement.
It definitely replace GS3 .about 32GB I don't think so it will launch where there is rumor of N5 in Nov or DEC of 2013 .

Then you`ll definately hate the S4 with 7GB OS including lots and lots of BLOATWARE
So the main keynote is over and there doesn't appear to be any new nexus hardware whatsoever. Just the pure GS4. Is it safe to assume no 32gb will arrive? Really want to order it now.

[Q] Nexus 4 worth?

I am about it buy it off of google so i do not get t-mobile's extra carrier apps that waste my space. currently it is 350 for 16gb and i was wondering if any of you regret buying it or should i purchase it.
Thank you!
Edit: I know there is no LTE, so so battery and camera, are those game changers, if not are there any other major problems?
I bought it 1 awhile back and it was great phone. Back cracked after a week in a case never dropped or abused. That was my only complaint and lack of lte support
