thanks guys 19 views and no responce
I'm not exactly sure what you are asking. I had problems getting my epic to show on my pc as well. For me, it wasn't the dr4ivers, but the fact I had it plugged into a usb hub. Try plugging it in a main usb port on the back of your case... these are usually the ones for your keyboard/mouse.

I haven't been able to get drivers to load at all... I have given up.
I too have a 64bit Win7 machine.
I too had the same drama for days on end..
I too read that installing PDA net will get you up and running
so..
I too am suggesting the following:
get PDA net and when it installs, select "samsung" and enjoy being able to plug your phone into your computer
I hope this helps
When booting windows hold F8 key and choose "Disable driver signature",now boot into windows and intall drivers it should work.
If not intall PdaNet tether on ur epic download drivers to ur phone for ur pc(it promts u) install them and ur good to go,dont forget to disable driver signiture and if u on win64 bit than u gotta disable it each time u boot into windows.

Hello,im having updating problems..!

<PLEASE READ WELL>
So,i have a galaxy s GT-i9000T and it seems there is no way of updating it! i can only put it on download mode trough ADB(dont know if that has to do with anything, just pointing it out since a lot of people cant use 3 button combo) and ive installed samsung drivers, kies, android sdk, java sdk and when i connect the phone to my pc in download mode it displays ''unrecognized device'' odin doesnt detect it and kies gets stuck at 0% while in download mode im supposing neither of my <<two different computers with 3 usb ports each>> seem to recognize it im on echlair 2.1 update 1 and i am very frustrated.
any help is apreciated!
PS:sorry for long post!1!!!
Check your drivers mate.
Sounds like a driver issue. Unless your phone's USB port or something is broken.
uninstalled kies and installed HTC and samsung driver for mobile phones and still no luck,i can transfer data/files from my phone to my computer so i dont think the usb is the problem :/

First try a normal installation of this package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
(pick the one for your OS, 32bit or 64bit - I don't know which one you got )
If that fails too, go into device manager, find the "unrecognized device", right click on it and click "Update driver software.." or something like that.
Then choose that you have driver files for this device and point to the folder where you extracted the package and let it search for the proper file.
i already had it installed...no luck! FML ):

Well, I don't know..
Can't think of anything else without actually seeing what's going on..
Maybe I could try helping you using some remote administration software, like teamviewer, but that requires that you trust me so.. ehh.
I also read on another topic that this could also be some usb malfunction (hardware issue).
Plus you said you used 2 PC's and many USB ports so.. don't know.
odin recognizes my phone while on with usb debugging on...
so it has to be drivers issue.
but I can't really help without seeing.
try playing around with the manual way again, pick some other options etc.
i'm off to bed. good luck

Windows 7 doesn't recognize Ideos

Hi.
I'm a happy new owner of a X5.
My only (up until now) problem is that I can't seem to sort how to install the proper drivers so that my netbook with Windows 7 32 bits, recognizes the Ideos as a Android handset.
It sees it as a CD unit!!!
I've tried to solve this with a driver that is foundable on the ideos itself and as it was stated on a older thread...but it doesn't work!
What can I do?
Are you trying to access the sdcard? In that case have you enabled mass storage mode on your phone?
Sent from my Ideos X5 using XDA App
Thats exact. That CD Drive had software (drivers) on it that you should use to install the drivers for windows 7 to recognize it.
As far as I remember, turn on USB debugging, then it will detect new hardware.. on the dialog select BROWSE FOR FILES (or something like that) and browse to the CD drive that is linked to the IDEOS... then press next, it will say installing drivers..
Then it should be fine.
No...as I stated before...i've tried to install the drivers that come in that mountable drive inside the X5. But Windows 7 says that those drivers can't be installed!!!
Don't know what to do!!!
I have exactly the same problem with Windows 7 64 bit. I wanted to root my phone but Device Manager recognized only the mass storage drives so I wasn't able to install the adb drivers. I ended up rooting U8800 with Vista which perfectly recognized the phone.

Yes. It wasn't recognized in two different Windows 7 computers but with same settings on Huawei it was properly recognized in Vista.
You could try to install the software that can be found on Huawei's website.
Unfortunately I can't post any links, so I will describe how to get there.
-On Huawei's website, hover your mouse over 'support' in the upper menu bar, then click 'Downloads'.
-In the middle, the 'Manuals' tab is selected, click 'Software'.
-Now look for 'HUAWEI Android Phones USB Driver', probably listed at top.
After installing it, my phone got recognized in Win 7's device list.
Unfortunately I can't approach the SD cards, but that might be a different problem. (I am able to see 2 extra removable storage devices in explorer, but can't open them. A clue anyone?)

I had the same problem but i installed Ubuntu and it recognized the phone.
Try Hisuite.Phone will be recognized
Before connecting with phone, do these :

[Q] Mass Storage not working

My mass storage is not working, I'm running the Hyperion rom, and this is really getting on my nerves now, I've enabled and disabled USB Debugging, I've installed and re-installed Samsung Kies (their stupid little piece of bad software that shouldn't be needed)
WHY ISN'T THIS A SIMPLE BLOODY PLUG AND PLAY?!

Try turning off usb debugging. The problem only persist if I use hyperion rc5 blablabla. No problem for hyperion 7
Plug in usb
Open status bar
I press the usb thingy
Press the cute android
Wait 20 seconds
It should work now
Though I still have to state that
ALL YOUR CHEESE BELONGS TO ME!
Try to update your usb driver..
Try to install latest samsung kies and samsung driver...
Other way : in your pc, open device and printer > right click pc icon and choose troubleshoot and use troubleshoot to your thunderbird device.
I hope it can help you

Just a little heads up

It took me quite a while of searching to actually find that guide but I'm glad I did otherwise I couldn't have unlocked my bootloader or rooted
Been trying to get the driver to work on my W8 laptop for my E3D. This worked for it after spending hours trying all sorts. Thanks a million. I will be sure to go through to the other thread and say thanks too.
If only I saw this before I spent hours last night trying to get adb to recognise my phone. I somehow got there in the end but this would've saved me a good two hours!

i can't install a driver for the MTP device. should it be in that zip? i'm trying to get it to install from that directory and it says it can't find a driver for it....
Tried this technique and it still won't work.
Here's what I'm doing
- Uninstall all current drivers & HTC Sync
- Restart PC
- Your method exactly
- Restart PC
Phone when on normally connects to adb just fine,
but when I put it into the bootloader it takes around 15 seconds to detect it and then says it's unrecognised and gives the error below:
Device doesn't start. (Code 10)
A request for the USB BOS descriptor failed.
Any help would be appreciated. For now, I'm running a copy of W7 on an old 2.5" drive... not ideal.
Tried this technique and it still won't work.
@petedavison93 and the owner of this thread, did you guys find a fix to pete's issue as I'm having the same issue as Pete, please help!
Had the same issue and installed different drivers several times without luck.
It was fixed for me by simply plugging in the phone into an USB port at the motherboard. The front USB and additional USB3 ports at the PC were not working, when the device is booted to the bootloader. They are working with adb only, when the phone is running normal.
I am running Win8x64.
Great Instructions

Anyone happen to know where I can find some windows 7 32bit drivers. Windows 8 32bit isn't a fan of 64bit software.
It isn't a problem with the HTC drivers. It's the usb drivers from Ms for Intel 3.0 bus. I found a thread that I'm searching again for that give the instructions on replacing the signed ms driver with an unsigned win 7 64bit host controller driver. It's two files and you need to first allow unsigned drivers in windows security. Needless to say it's fine now on my 3 ports.
