[Q] Button Combination To Enter Bootloader? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone
Whats the button combination to enter the bootloader while the phone is off? I tried volume down and power several times but it just boots up normally. Currently I have to use ADB to enter the bootloader every time.

Same as Galaxy Nexus was. Volume Up + Volume Down + Power. All three at the same time.

[L5] Foolproof boot to recovery

Yesterday I had a hard time trying to boot an L5 (612) to recovery; there are many instructions out there that I was never able to make work, like this one, for example:
Press and hold the Volume down key + Power key, after 2 seconds when the lights go on you have to press 2 seconds on the home button

So, the best instructions I found were on this thread:
turn your device off, then press volume"-" + home button + power button until it vibrates and shows LG logo then release only power button and keep pressing both of the others for about 8 seconds then release.

And the method I found out worked best after some trial and error (and lots of googling):
Power off
Press and hold (Volume down) + (Home) keep holding
Press and hold (Power) and release it (Power) after the phone vibrates.
Keep holding (Volume down) + (Home)
Let about 8 seconds pass and then release (Home). Keep holding (Volume down)
Keep holding (Volume down) until the phone enters recovery
For me, works every time.
I heard about another:
Hold VOL-, HOME and POWER
When it vibrates, hold only HOME
Hold it until recovery shows up
???
PROFIT!

[How-to] Soft Boot/Reset the Galaxy S5

Long press power button no longer works for us on the S5 to shutdown or reset the phone.
What to do if you're stuck in a bootloop and need to soft reset so you can get into recovery:
To get into recovery:
Long press power + volume down reboots the phone.
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately switch to volume up + keep holding power + home key.
Once you see 'Recovery Booting' (in dark blue, top left) release the keys.
To get into download mode:
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately press the home key + keep holding power + keep holding volume down.
Timing is a little critical but at least I don't have to pull the battery every time I get stuck testing something and want to get into recovery to fix it.
Ty sir, good to no.

Why is Sammy making it so hard for us to enjoy our phone?
Thank you for the 411 [emoji3]. I was wondering what was going on.

Thanks for this!
I actually just had this problem and had to phone a friend (switched to the S5 this weekend and ran into a boot loop problem while doing some of my final restorations... it's the reason they're last!).
Didn't do this exact thing as I had ended up pulling the battery out when the Power - Volume Up - Home combo hadn't been working for me. If it happens again, I know this is here!

How to boot in to recovery mode?

First Moto device coming from Samsung Galaxy S4. Thanks.

with device off keep pressing power and volume up for a 3-4 seconds until recovery shows up.
What worked for me is:
Press and hold volume down and the power button
Use volume rocker to select Recovery Mode
Phone will reboot and you will see Andy on his back.
Press and hold power button and then press volume up.

Is the phone powered on or off initially with your first step?
Power off and then do those steps

Volume Down and Power button don't seem to work anymore

Something just happened to my phone where the touchscreen actions went a little crazy for a second or two and then the Volume Down and Power button don't seem to work anymore.
The Volume Up button still works though...
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to turn off or reboot the device without using the power button?
Volume down, power and home button. All 3.

Actually, I found in this case holding down Volume Down and Power caused the phone to reboot. I wonder if something got stuck...
It happened to me as well and I found some article which said to hold power +down button for some time and it will reboot

turn off on a brick phone

my OP6T is bricked and I have to turn it off to repair it with the volume + - command.
How do I turn it off? There is a special combination of buttons?
Hold volume-up, volume-down, and power buttons simultaneously. After a few seconds, it should reboot. Immediately after rebooting, hold volume-down and power buttons to get to recovery. Select power off in recovery.

I already tried but when I press turn off it has put the recovery mode back and now it's bricked on the screen where there is the message that says the phone is bricked.
Thanks anyway.

I just went through this same thing last night with my OP6. Make sure the device is unplugged from the computer, or any other power sources. Select Power Off and immediately hold the volume + button for 5 seconds and while still holding volume + plug it into your PC.
It's okay I turn off and my phone is good now.
