any fully working aosp roms for 4.2 yet? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sorry if I'm completely blind but the only one I saw had no gapps for it.

Do you mean a custom ROM or a rooted stock ROM?
Rooted, flashable updates are based on the OTA they have Google apps. What 4.2 ROM were you looking at?

OTA update with 3rd party kernels

I am currently running FraNco.Kernel R38 and was wondering how I go about updating to the newest version of android when it releases. Would I do an ota update and be fine or would I have to flash the whole ROM and lose all my stuff?
Would I be able to use cwm or twrp and restore just the data?
Still new to android and was having a hard time finding this with search.
Thank you so much!

Edit: running stock Jellybean 4.2.1

What kind of mods you guys installed?

So I I finally received my RMA phone. I rooted it and unlock. Im gonna keep it on stock rom but was wondering what kind of other mods you guys installed like camera or kernel?
If you decide to flash a kernel, I would try Matr1x. I've heard good things about it.

will franco kernel work with stock rom? Is it safe to update OTA official stock roms?

You need to unlock your boot loader at least to run custom kernels. You can update to ota ROMs as long as you have stock recovery.

works with stock ROM. Once you have a custom recovery you won't be able to receive OTA. However since stock ROMs are usually posted on XDA before I actually receive it I don't see a problem with it.
franco kernel for battery life. circle battery because I like seeing it. eventually i'll probably flash the noozy? audio mod. trying to avoid flashing a custom rom this time around, just because.

[Q] 4.2.2 new bootloader

hey just a quick question, i've upgraded to 4.2.2 and i like it, i rooted, installed twrp and was already unlocked. but i was wondering, with this update comes a new bootloader, are current custom roms and kernels compatible with this bootloader? I wouldnt mind being able to go back to smooth rom or clean rom inheritance.
thanks in advance

i think they are, in the franco.Kernel thread there are many users reporting that franco.Kernel works in 4.2.2

Can I flash stock 4.1.1 on rooted P3113? What ROM?

I own the P3113 and recently rooted and flashed CM10.1. The stock OTA 4.1.1 had some nice features and working IR blaster. Is there a modded version of the stock ROM that I can flash without losing root access?
Ideally what I want to do is setup a dual boot with CM10.1 and the stock 4.1.1 ROM. Which I will research.
I've looked through some of the stock ROM threads, but wasn't quite sure which to choose so I figured I'd ask before hand. Thanks for any help!!

4.2.1 to 4.3 or 4.4?

Guys im using PA rom in android 4.2.1 and Im thinking of upgrading?what do I need to change? Do I need to upgrade my recovery? In order to flash custom roms for android 4.3/4.4?

as i am aware you should update your bootloader, just to be sure everything works good, other than that you are good, just flash the rom via recovery, which i recommend you update
I seem to recall you had to update the radios as well going from .2 to .3
