I just noticed today that the corner of the phone was not installed correctly the edge of the aluminum is coming up. I was wondering if this can be fixed.or do I need to take it back to Verizon and raise hell for it.

Is it offset enough to snag on stuff? If so I'd try and get it replaced - a few snags/tugs here and there and next thing you know that whole section may start to lift/pull away.
I wonder if this is an isolated incident? Haven't seen any other complaints of build quality.
I've seen one other person complain of this... should get it replaced.

No I have never dropped it. I talked to verizon, they thought they could fix it by tightening the screw at the bottom. When they brought it back out it still had the piece sticking out. I told them i wanted a new one and they agreed on a D.O.A., but they were out of stock now I have to wait a day or two to get one in.

Yea take it back. If it gets worse they may try to say you dropped it or something.

Easily...if they paid any more it wasnt by much. The phones are selling on amazon for $149.99 right now! That's right both the Maxx/non-Maxx versions of the Razr HD are available on amazon wireless for $149.99. Verizon charges $199 for the Razr HD and $299 for the Razr Maxx HD. If you think they're not robbing people you're blind, or stupid, or a Verizon shareholder. If amazon is making a profit (which I assure you, they are) selling these phones for up to half of what Verizon is selling them for, you can bet Verizon pays somewhere under $100 for these phones.
If you look at the Maxx, Verizon is basically charging $100 for ~800mAh more battery and 16gb more internal storage. This alone is a rip off.
I'm not sure how amazon can make a profit with the price they're asking for these phones (I'm guessing they make their margins in the volume they deal) but I suggest people looking to buy one of these phones jump on it. Or if you have recently purchased one of these phones, return it (within your 30 days, or possibly 14 days -- MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT AND FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IT IS) and go through amazon to save yourself $150.

Well I received the new phone today. I installed all my apps back and the edges are smooth. But...... there is a spec of dust under the back coating of the phone. I am just gonna have to live with it. Hopefully it wears down, or I will just put a TPU case on it.
yes its very great
Does your guys phones have a tiny bit of over hang on the coners?
I do have on the right side where the power and volume rockers are a lip on the Kevlar is all of the demo's I have held don't seem to have this. I am pondering whether I should exchange it since I just bought it. All other sides seem to be Ok but you can feel it when holding it and it is kinda annoying.

So, I just sold my baby to my mom because I am leaving for the Navy in January. I'm still using the phone until I leave, but I sold it for a cool 150. I thought it was a fair price. However, I just came across this site called buymytronics and their site says the phone is worth $270! I checked the price on both the HTC HD2 and the 16 GB Iphone 3G, both only fetch about 120 in flawless condition.
I know Nexus's(Nexi?) are sort of a collector's item now that they are discontinued and only around 130,000 sold in the US(Pcworld article is my source). I just thought it as kinda interesting that some random site is willing to pay 270 for a phone when others of similar spec and much more popular are going for less than half of that. I almost want to contact the people that the site and ask WTF is up with that.
Oh, well I guess we can all revile in the fact that we have the the phone with the best resale value on the market However, if you are looking to upgrade, that Nexus S looks pretty sick, now might be the time to sell it to this stupid site.
Btw, I know multiple people who have sold electronics on this site, so it's not some cheetos covered nerd in his basement BSing all of us.
Which version was it..T-Mobile or ATT? You can still get the Tmo version by being a developer I'm pretty sure. Not sure where you can still get a New N1 with ATT bands though. That may increase its value?
I had to hunt down my 3 N1s I recently got and spent around $350 each and thats considered a great price. Mine were in brand new condition, with no scratch or mark anywhere. 1 of them has some dust on the bottom of the screen. Ebay sellers with good feedback get $380+ on mint condition tmo n1s, $400+ for att versions.
I sold mine last week for $500 AUD ($502.25 USD) and was the T-mobile model.
Not bad considering I paid $600 AUD for it 6 months ago. They are holding their dollar value really well in Australia.
i bought mine off someone on CL locally about 3 weeks ago for 300 with the box and all accessories, it was in good condition but had been dropped once and has a few dings from the fall as well as a small scratch on the screen. it was a screaming deal for sure. most people want at least 350 if not more. most t-mobile ones on ebay sell for around 400 and broken ones will sell for anywhere from 100-200+ dollars (i know i bought and resold a broken one hoping to fix it but ended up finding the one i got now for 300)

It doesn't specify which carrier it is. It just pops up the HTC Google Nexus One. I tried searching for a T-Mobile Nexus One no luck same listing.

That's crazy. Mine is in mint condition. I have never dropped it on a hard surface; carpeted only and that was only a couple of times. I guess my mom got a killer deal. I told her she needs to take care of it. If Nexus phones keep value you never know I might make money off of it one day. I will probably buy it back from my mom once I get back from RTC because I will have a ton a money and nothing to do with it.
i just paid $400 on ebay for my att n1, mint condition with CM6.0 and root already loaded up... i considered that a great deal, since i had been seeing plenty of att n1's goin for $450-500.
these are great phones, and that guy got a steal even for a tmob version.

haha this thread is pretty interesting. Idk how much my rooted running CM6 would cost. been dropped a few time and there is one small scratch on the bottom. overall it's great though. especially i take care of the screen even though the multi-touch is crappy as hell but just a small problem. I paid $30 for a piece of sticky plastic made by zigg to cover it. but all the deals you guys been saying would probably be half of my nexus two. only if the nexus two will rock my face like my baby N1 did. otherwise I'm keeping it.
oh yeah thumbs up for the Google Museum

The funny thing is it is a stupid site. They will pay me a whole 47 or something odd dollars for my mint condition Nook. I freaking paid 185 for that new. I paid 550 for my Nexus and they will give me half that. Roughly, they are willing to pay 20 percent more on the dollar for my Nexus than my Nook even though the Nook is in better shape and has less wear. Also, the suckers that out right bought an Iphone, or even signed a two year contract, get only 120 for their phone. I just wish I had more obscure tech than this site is willing to buy for top dollar.
I like the idea of a Google museum. I had a G1, one of my brother's friends has a Cliq, my old boss has a MT3G. Most of those are antiques by now. I say we start tomorrow lol

Hell, I needed the money. I sell all my old tech to my family. I figure I can keep tabs on my family's tech needs better if I already know how to run it all. I'm the only tech savvy one in a family of 12, so there is a lot to do. So, I cut operating costs, opps I meant time lol, by letting them use the stuff I already had fun with. My Zune 32 Gb is going to my dad, and my computer is going to my sister when I leave in January for the Navy. Now they can call me any where in the world and I will understand what the hell they are going through. Although I really wish they didn't. I'll probably running a nuclear reactor or something when my mom calls to whine about how the touch screen is going out of wack on my old phone.
Well does anyone have one that they want to sell cause I would like to buy

This is honestly the first phone I've EVER owned that is COMPLETELY scratch-less almost a year after purchase... that's taking absolutely NO special care of it either... I treat this thing like it's a set of car keys and FLAWLESS even today. That's the majority of the incentive for me hanging on to it for so long and not jumping to another phone... prior to this I was changing phones 3-4 times a year all 500+ a pop.

If anyone is looking for a no-contract Epic to put on a MVNO, use as a backup, PMP for the kids, or to upgrade a family member on the cheap, here is a good deal IMO.
Not sure how long it will last, these are usually only 24-48 hours.
They are USED and may not be in best shape, look for 6 or 7 rating for good quality.
Thank you SOOO much for posting this, just found out I didn't have insurance on one of my lines and their epic shattered lol.

I actually spent 3 months trying to fix the GPS i inexplicably broke on my evo 4g (which i absolutely LOVED) and just couldn't seem to fix it. The gps thing was more of an annoyance, saw this deal for $79 at the time of purchase and the phone i got was rated a "5". Screen was in great shape which is what i was worried about, would probably use that site again if i'm in a bind like now (contract is up in 5-6 months)
I was hoping they might have the GSII/Epic-Touch for closer to $200 as I've been increasingly thinking about getting a slightly older device to wait out another year/generation as I won't have LTE in my area for at least another year anyway and just save my upgrade credit. The Epic Touch is still $260 though.
However, at $160 the Motorola Photon looks like a pretty sweet deal. Solid specs, Motorola build-quality/signal and will be officially upgraded to ICS later this year. How can you tell ESN status on this site though? On eBay the Photons with a clean ESN and 'Buy Now' are going for closer to $250.

The Cowboom site has a 30 day return guarantee. They will pay return shipping.
The phones are usually checked, but if it turns out by chance to have a bad ESN, they won't hesitate to exchange it.

Thanks. I figure it being affiliated with Best Buy makes it a somewhat safer bet, but just wanted to be sure if I decide to pull the trigger.
Checked out the Photon at lunch. Not hyper-thin (sort of halfway between the Epic and the new uber-skinny slabs) but seems like a potential option for my situation, especially for the price.

^^ this. For a phone that costs $700, I'd think anything that looks like it shouldn't be there warrants a replacement.
Take that ish back!
Well I've called up my service provider and they've agreed to replace it with another new one - only problem is that they aren't getting another batch in for 2 weeks new one won't arrive til 27th June...
I can still keep this one til then, but it means I have to baby it/not take it out for fear of dropping it/not root it, basically treat it as a loaner.
I'm half tempted to say f*ck it, I'll just keep it - but you're all right, this is an expensive machine, I don't want a faulty paint job! Who's to say it won't get worse as well, since it's a prob with manufacturing process.

Plus it's not really Three's fault, it's Samsung's fault. Three haven't been too bad to me so far, so I won't be an a**hole difficult customer to them until it's warranted

I'd recommend that you tell them your situation that you'll keep it till the new stock arrives and they ship it to you. I remember having a similar issue with my Motorola razor v9 flip phone (att USA). They sent me a new razor and asked me to return the defective phone once I've received the new one. True, but do you honestly think they are going to open every box and inspect for bad craftsmanship? If they were part of the assembly process then sure, but they merely order en mass and then either drop ship to their customers or reship from their warehouse.
I think the OP is doing the right and ethical thing by not blowing this out of proportion. To many people these days try and milk every little "mistake" that cross their path. But to each their own, the important thing is that he is getting a replacement with no down time and a few bucks for his troubles.

Think it has something to do with Apple, whether they want to admit it or not. Had a black version been available, I'd have gotten that one, but I've settled with the white version for now(was going for the blue version, but after seeing it in person I'm glad I went with white when the former was delayed).
It'll probably not be that long lived if the Note 2 gets released in October.
I ordered the T-Mobile version earlier today, FINALLY. Not sure if I should have waited for the DEV edition, but the T-Mobile version comes with an unlockable bootloader so I guess that's good. If the DEV edition becomes available later this week I will simply return the tmo version and get that.

Might wait for the Dev. Edition and/or Motomaker edition, the appealing thing about the Moto X is the possibility of the 32gb internal storage and you won't get that with the carrier version.

Almost bit the bullet and bought one of these. Can't justify dropping 600 bucks for 16gb and from most accounts a poor camera and average screen. I really wanted to love the phone, but in my limited time in playing with one, I just don't feel it's a 600 dollar product. Motorola pays 220 dollars to have the phone made, they would have taken over the world if they didn't try to get 3x the price out of customers.

Thanks for wishing me luck, it worked. I bought a LG G2 for 600 dollars. Problem solved. I appreciate the luck! :good: 32GB, 1080P screen, Great camera with OIS, for the same price. It wasn't the fact that phones cost 600 dollars, its the fact that Motorola is charging 600 dollars for that phone. Its not a 600 dollar piece of hardware. And congrats!
I tried to order one several times yesterday. I had it the basket every time and when I clicked the purchase button I kept getting a message about an error with my credit card which has plenty of money on it. Now I have three holds pending on my credit card in the amount of the purchase and they all say Motorola Direct. First chat session was cut off and second one was with a person saying the only moto x available for purchase was the att exclusive one. I told them they had bad information and they insisted I was wrong. I made a call about it and have had two call backs today but each time I was busy. Hoping for another call back today because I'm not going to sit on hold for another 20 minutes today to see what they have come up with. They did admit that the website has a problem but without more info I am in the dark still I'm losing my faith in this company and it sucks because I want to try this phone and give them a chance but it is frustrating so far. I know its early in the game for the T-Mobile variant but damn, its not looking good so far.

In other threads that don't have to do with the t-mobile version, people have reported the phone showing up even before the motorola order status page was updated. So....anyway, take that with some heavy salt.

Hopefully that's true because it sucks to wait for a phone in stock. Does anyone know if signature is needed for delivery?

So he could've just been giving me the brush off and telling me what I wanted to hear, but I did a Moto live chat to see if i could send my plain white Moto X in for some customization,

I asked about swapping my 16gb for a 32gb and they said it's not possible unless I return it first. (then order a new phone)
I also chatted with Glenn - is he the only person working in live chat??
Oh God, I hope this happens. I'm on Verizon, and wanted Moto Maker so much. But I really had to get a new phone because even after replacing the battery of my Droid X, the battery got bloated and overly hot. Yeah, it was possible to buy another replacement battery, but it was time to get a new phone anyways.
So if I'm reading OP correctly, it's not going to be an option yet, or even when Verizon gets Moto Maker, but Motorola may make it possible in the near future?

That's what its sounds like from the guy I chatted with. He could just be saying it because he knows I want him to say there's a chance haha

Dude, I've been in sales my entire life.
He told you what you wanted to hear. You gave him a leading question. He neither confirmed nor denied but you accepted it. Sales/customer service= mental chess.
So, he has no idea. At all. None. That's what his answer means to those who speak the code

Yeah, this is just standard CS speak. I highly doubt it will happen.
By purchasing the item, you entered into a contact in which you agreed to what you purchased. They have no obligation to spend extra money on shipping and man hours to give you a free colored back plate. Would it be nice? yes. Will they do it? Doubtful.

but they will try really hard to try and consider looking into it!
I was at a verizon store recently and the agent there (who admittedly may not know what he was talking about) was absolutely convinced that in the near future you would be able to mail in your moto x and have them modify it to get whatever customization you wanted OTHER than changing the memory, and went so far as to claim they would be providing prepaid envelopes to ship the phones in. I didn't even ask about this, he was just explaining how the phone customization will work for people who bought early or in stores.
Just thought I'd mention that here. Hopefully he'll be right.
I thought about buying a Moto X via moto maker at full price then just selling my current one on ebay, but I'd lose like $150 in the end, I'm not wanting to do that
