What did I delete? Chicken kaboodle? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After I manually flashed update 4.2 I realized that I had less storage, so when I went to settings and storage I saw that I had 4 and a half gigabytes taking up in a file called "0" in the misc section.. It gave me the option to delete it so I did... My tablet is fine... I still have everything.. What did I delete?!

try using root exporer and goin to /MNT and check those folders

Thanks, I've already deleted though... I was just surprised that there was 4.5 gigs that I couldn't see

The /0 is your sdcard.
Sent from my Nexus 7

4.2 seems to have a couple of folders that lead to your sdcard, like: 'sdcard', 'storage-legacy', 'storage-emulated', 'storage-sdcard0' and 'storage-0'. Deleting any of these, just cleans your sdcard.

Thank you, I figured that it was part of my SD card but I couldn't find any of my old files and my and 7 still works fine with all my stuff it was like it created an exact copy of what I already had

Can you do it in TWRP then?

Yes, works linke a charm. All my backups are now directly written to an USB-stick and the amount of free internal memory increased by almost 4 GB
Edit: upps, I think I understood you wrongly. I was thinking on USB-stick on OTG, not on MTP-mounting. That I didn't check up to now.

Connect ur N7 to ur pc then go to clockworkmod folder then you'll find the backup folder. I'm pretty sure they can be transfered to a mac as the backup is just a folder.

Hi, when I use ES File Explorer with root settings and view hidden files enabled, I don't see that folder. Is there any reason why I can't see the folder?

Mine isn't there, but I know based on remaining space that it is somewhere.

However you can do a search with ES Explorer to find it

Where are clockwork backups at?

I can't find them anywhere. I want to delete old ones to free up space but can't find the cwm folder anywhere.

Look for /0 folder in file explorer. Then /clockworkmod. At least that's what it is for me

Installing apps to the sd card on an att galaxy s4

I need a method for installing apps to my sd card on my 16gb galaxy s4. I have tried using the folder mount app but this method only stopped my apps from working. I heard that there had been a ota update released that integrates this into the stock software, but I haven't heard any news about it coming to the att galaxy s4.

So far app2sd has just come out for the I9500/9505. you should be able to run one of the I9505 Roms with no problems.

Folder mount works best way better than apps 2 sd in a rom I have 7 gbs of games moved to my sd card and still have 7gbs free on internal storage with over 100 apps installed

I tried it as well and only ended up with the same game data on both my internal and external memory. I didnt like it either. So I'll wait for the update to come to at&t.

Well I have no issue with using folder mount maybe your doing it wrong plus you do know that apps 2 sd thats on an internation rom will move over the app buth not the data

Nandroid saved to device

I was backing up my stock rom and for some reason (probably my fault) it saved to my internal memory instead of sd card. Can I simply move it over using file explorer? Any help?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda premium
Yes, you can just move it over. You can use the stock my files app if you'd like.
