[Q] clear defaults set for system apps

Hi,
How do i clear the defaults for system apps.?
eg. i set the system launcher as a default.
now when i install launcher pro i dont cant use it..
the dialog which allows to change the default launcher doesnt pop up..
pls help.

Settings-> applications->manage applications->launcher->clear defaults.

can somebody please help ..I am using CM7 AmeriCanAndroid 051211 build and it happened may be due to my fault that i used the old data.img from the previous version. i set my launcher pro as default and it started crashing . I need to set it back to AWD Laucher so that i can atleast get the options to work on the problem.
The launcher pro is crashing but I am sure AWD launcher will work fine .. Please let me know a way to either go the the settings menu or any way where i can atleast start my phone.

for future reference when something like this happens, you go into settings/applications/manage applications and search for the app you set to default, or the launcher app, open it and clear defaults, then in your case you press the home button and it will ask you again which launcher you want to use, and you could've selected AWD launcher.

so what if you can't access the phon's settings sincs everything just keeps crashing?

as a last ditch, you can boot to recovery and format the data partition. that has all of your settings so, you will have to go through the first run setup, but that should fix your problem if it's just a setting issue.

[Q] [Swype] Need orignal galaxy apollo swype back

I flashed the Kyrillos v7 rom a couple of days back and it is really good
However the swype that is present constantly replaces the words that i have typed and that bugs me a lot
How can i get the orignal swype that i got with the eclair apollo back?????

Just copy Swype.apk from XXJPS to your /system/app folder Or you could look into the settings, but I don't now if you can disable it, I'm not using Swype...

there is a way to change settings
in settings, under local and text, press swype settings, word suggestion and uncheck auto correct.

[Q] MIUI FileManager ?

Hi mates
Is there a file manager like that present in miui rom? and i mean has feature of automatic installation of apps.

I dont know what you mean by automatic installation, but for me this is the best.
I cannot find anything that it cannot do.

Thanx a lot but u definitely tried miui - when u open file manager > go to apks > mark whatever u want > many options appear 1 of them is INSTALL > press it and leave the phone > all apps will be installed without your intervention

Q & A - Repencis

These are questions that have the ROM Repencis V3.5 Advanced:
- This utility for applications that are installed in internal memory(Applications-Preferred Location), but even though I changed some apps are still installed in the FAT32 partition of the SD. That is because??
- Also this utility to remove startup applications(Startup Manager), I ask that apps can be removed from boot without sacrificing performance or taking risks with operating the device?
- How to added animations to status bar?
- I download lock screen using mylocker.apk but the size thereof having 240x320 exceeded display of our device, it has correction??
- To increase the framerate and increase the benchmarking score, says in Q & A:
"hight score banchmarking plugin .. just dont instal instal than Chainfire only reduces check setting on default opengl texture"
According to this should not install the Driver CF3D?? and only reduces texture on default opengl ??
- finally (for now), fix the theme Repencis 3.5 Theme (Transparent Tabs / background), I flashed 2 times and have always gotten a bootloop and closing forzed errors. The report in the thread but no one has reviewed.
- The icon file is not available in Q & A to post 2, please check.

1) If you chose the install location as internal, apps which are meant to be installed in internal only will be installed in internal memory and other apps such as games will be installed in sd card. This feature has been a bit buggy, you should manually move files with apps such as app2sd(App in play, search for it, Not a2sd darktremor) etc.
2) Apps which need to run at boot should not be removed from boot eg. launchers, widgets, apps like setcpu,link2sd ,background running processes. Apps such as games, apps which dont always run in background can be removed from startup
3) Im afraid you have to edit framework-res.apk for that, its a complicated process.
4) It will be auto adjusted to our screens size.
5) You should install CF3D driver for more benchmarking (3d graphics)
6) Did you flash the update 2 after flashing update 1? Use only CWM for flashing. Many people reported it to be working fine after flashing update 2.
7) What icon file? in xda mobile app? You need to unsubscribe and subscribe the galaxy y forums to display it.
