As so many people are using CF-Root 3.2 on GB, I was wondering what tweaks others are using via CF-Root Tweak Manager.
I myself have enabled the following and would be interested in what tweaks othrs are using together with any comments:-
Setting Setting Comment
RAM:Min-free OFF Let Android use up any free memory!
SD: Speed Tweak ON Larger file system cache
I/O: No-a-time ON Don't update access times
I/O Scheduler: OFF Tweaked IO (OFF to see if fixes bluetooth issue)
I/O Deadline Scheduler: ON Appears to make phone more responsive
Kernel Scheduler: ON Fairer Scheduler
CPU Conservative gov. OFF I use ondemand via SETCPU
VM: Swappiness ON Reduce tendency to swap
VM: Dirtyness ON Tune I/O Buffering
Media Stagefright: ON I get no problems with video playback.
Touchscreen sensitivity: OFF Screen fine as it is.
I am using deodexed JVO CF 3.2 (with ext4) with many frozen (and some deleted apps)
Phone is very responsive, no lags (Quadrant for those interested is 2200-2300)

??? what value did you just add to this thread?
Good news, it looks like disabling the I/o scheduler tweak does resolve the bluetooth timing out issue so thanks for the tip I read in chainfire thread. Phone still rapid and no issues

Bluetooth not fixed
Damn! bluetooth hasn;t turned on again. Disabling the I/O scheduler hasn't fixed this after all! Had to reboot then bluetooth available again in seconds... Oh Well!
try turn off kernel scheduler.... for bluetooth fix. work for me at least..
Thanks but now gone to speedmod kernel which is looking great

Help, I'm using Galaxy Ace, when I connected to wifi, if I turn off router and phone will get disconnected surely, but its hang and I need pull off battery.
While my friend using stock rom, there is no issue, if disconnected, the wifi icon definitively will disappear... For me not, it will hang... So I need manually turn of wifi setting den turn of router....
Which setting I need to do to make this problem solved?
Hi
Thought I'd share what I found out looking for info on the kswapd0 process and where it keeps its pagefile.
Setting Swappiness tweak will set /proc/sys/vm/swappiness to 0.
Disabling the tweak will set it to 60 which appears to be the standard values found in many Linux distros.
I still don't know where the pagefile is kept though or whether this tweak actually does anything since kernel 2.3.6 has no swap partition support and there is defo no swap partition on gt i9000 anyway so I'm hoping the tweak will make kswapd0 behave differently.

Hey guys!
I've got a problem with my launcher (GO Launcher EX)...when I use another app, which needs more free RAM, it freezes for about 3 seconds and I have to wait for about 10 seconds when my all apps are shown in App Drawer...
Where's the problem? (sry for my english)
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
What ROM?
What ROM are you using? There's a setting in Cyanogen Mod that forces the launcher to stay. You can also use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126940 , which is a mod that changes the way the RAM works for performance and to keep the home launcher application running.
I'm running on Mur4ik's RC1 ROM....I'm checking this option right now, I gonna try if it helps
I read about V6 script, but I don't want it. Instead of it I'm using Autokiller Memory Optimizer, which I think is same as V6 script
Yes, it's the same. CyanMod 7 has an option to lock home in memory under "Performance". Also, GO Launcher may also have such a feature. I don't know, I use LauncherPro. Good luck

Now I'm using LauncherPro, too and it works! many thanks for both of you
Hello guys. I've been playing around with Jelly bean official, deleting some apps, adding other apps, and together with members on this page we were able to find some bugs and some workarounds. Well, i have some suggestions so that you guys can improve on speed (at least seemed to have worked for me ).
1) Download from Play Store app: Android Tuner (link for freeversion, has less options), Titanium backup, Gemini app
2) At Android Tuner, Go to Main Menu then again on the option One-Click (with the blue android) and it'll appear 2 options. One wich says One-click reset (it'll put all the buttons blue with on), and the other ont wich says "on boot" . Click on both, Leave the last one unchecked (it is not necessary to constantly do this, you can do it manualy later.
3) On same page, at the top wich says "build" click on it. Below you'll find a option wich says Presets, click and then Apply all presets. (later search for debug.sf.nobootanimation (click on the red cross, to remove it in orther to keep )
4)SysCtl, click at Recommended, the app will calculate for your phone automaticaly then click on boot so that it'll boot always with same configuration. (we can test this later, other configurations suggested by the users)
5) on the tab, scroll to your left untill you find the option SD, select cache size :2048 then click "on boot)
6) Slide again to the option OOM, and basicacly is setting same configuration as we use on Maximum Overdrive to max usage of RAM :
Select light preset
Then click on boot.
7) Using this app or titanium backup freeze or remove:
Samsung Push notification app
Email.apk
ExchangeServer.apk
8) Using Germini app ,click Menu then expert mode search for the following apps: Maps.apk, talk.apk, select each of them, select configure autorun, then press menu, and Disable app. (The app will still work, but use less the CPU usage, leaving free for other apps).
9) Go back to Android Tuner and On the main menu running click on One-Click (with a toolbox) -> Manage and it'll appear 5 options , click 1 by 1 on each.
10) reeboot
Optional: 11) Remove all live wall papers or convert to user apps, and free till 130 MB memory, using titanium backup, press menu then integrate dalvikcache.
12)Convert database to WAL(faster database).
13)On Android Tuner run again Defrag registry
Now you should have a much smoother experience.
I've tested this with Wanamlite wich is free of bloatware.
I hope this helps to get a better experience.
Note: In touchwiz launcher, when you create a folder at the menu, and you insert there your apps, if after a reeboot for some reason the apps are not there it is because you have your apps instaled on your SD card, go to app manager, select the app and move to Internel SD Card, and it is solved.
Is the app Including a boot controller ?

Suppose you are speaking of android Tuner. Yes. You have a button for that as I describe on this small guide .

Have you noticed any downsides of running all these steps (certain apps loading slower, lag in certain areas, etc), or any change in battery life?

For now no. I've made this guide more and less three days after testing. Never has issues. Seems to be working great and fast battery life, With wifi off and power save on. Had an estimated of 7 hours screen watching a movie. When I can test ill share the results. But if someone could test this would be great. Once I had 2 hours and 30 min of display use and still was 78%.

Sounds like the stuff dreams are made of... Once I get around to picking a new JB ROM to use (still trying to find one I like enough to keep for more than a few days) I'll be sure to try this out and report back with my results! Thanks for this!

5 min video from avi file.

does these settings with android tuner fix the sluggish scrolling in messages list?
thats the only thing that needs to be fixed.
i dont know what you mean with that you can scroll really nice now?
its nothing new hehe
you CAN scroll smooth 95% of the time except for messages in stock JB.
whats the problem?

to anyone wich needs the build prop with some of configurations only available on Paid version of android tunner ( you can skip line 3 by using this one) :

tried on Omega v16.2
made lag appear
guess it's more for fully stock than a chef special
I used System Tuner Pro and it had all the options that were posted here..but i did experience lag with the oom settings so i tweaked them but this app has an option to disable startup items also so you would not need to download Germini app that you were talkng abut

So every time I restart my phone I lose the settings in setcpu, and trickster mod that I know of. (so ie. the voltage that I have changed is reverted, the colors and others settings) what do I do to fix it. I am on pac latest and Franco latest. Thxw

Hi,
Maybe it's due to Fsync off... if I'm not wrong you can set it to on in Franco Kernel Updater (or Trickster Mod). In case of phone crash caused by too much undervolt or something else, you could loose some data. Set Fsync to on prevent this.
To the OP: are you sure that your settings are applied at boot? I mean the option "set on boot" is active in your apps?

i am an stock voltages pac rom and franco kernel, and the fsync is on. i maybe need to do a fresh install, i was just wondering if any one else had this same problem. thank you
I had problems with franco + setcpu, with trickster I had to factory rest...
I'd recommend to use Franco kernel updater app, works amazing..
Which app is everyone using to control the kernel?
I rooted the phone and currently using Kernel Toolkit. What i'm seeing from the Kernel Toolkit app is that the settings don't seem to stick for the speed of the cores.
It seems Kernel Toolkit will set the governor but the set speed will jump all over the place. So even after reboot of the phone, I sometimes need to go in and make sure to set the cores again.
Any other app that would fix this issue? or is this normal and no way around?
