i realy want to use faux kernel for my nexus 7, it has jellybean 4.1.2, rooted, busybox, cwm touch..
my problem is when i flash faux kernel 011 all its version ive tried, i can properly boot it but the problem is i cannot shut it down or reboot it using power button or system apps, it always stuck for about forever in shutting down "power off" message. Even i tried hard reset and going back to recovery mode then boot it up again it still stuck and cant shut it down properly. Actually i even try factory reset and stock rom then different roms if faux kernel will not have that problem, still no luck. Ive tried everything how to properly flash kernels and roms. The only faux kernel i managed to get working on my jb 4.1.2 is faux 012b6 to 012b8, but again problem rises when i play games like buggy beach or riptide gp is it crashes, sometimes forced app close and complete freeze and i needed to do "hard reset". If any one can help me know about trick or two about faux kernel using on nexus 7 with jb 4.1.2 please help me.. i realy like and needed faux kernel because like for gaming its super smooth and fine, ive tried trinity , M kernel+ and franco but this realy owns in performance value... please help i realy appreciate it soo much .. from a happy gamer thank you.
I've had trouble with that kernel too. Flash the reset kernel. Flash LeanKernel and be done with it.

Beta 0.5 also if you want to over clock flash the powerHAL binaries. Otherwise the max freq will reset.

thanks mate uber:fingers-crossed:... but i figured it out on nexus 7 jb 4.1.2 using "faux kernel 012b8" fastest ever kernel on the planet even when playing games run 65 fps smooth butter without crashing games like freezing and hanging to result in hard reset.. "stay at 300 min 1300 max cpu" and heres the trick using franco kernel updater " set cpu quiet governor to = runnable" . Thats it never had i experience crashing games like buggy beach, riptide gp or dark meadow ever again testing for about 3 hours non stop playing. Perfect kernel for those seeking maximum potential of your nexus 7 device when playing intensive games :good:. FAUX i love you mate for kernel 012b8:victory: btw im using AOKP jb n7 rom too, perfect combination:good:

please guys i dont know is it normal or not so let me know that why does it always gets stuck on 3d tests while performing any benchmark using any of the overclocked versions gl notecore kernel. I really like that kernel but also do want some overclocking but whenever i try doing benchmark test using the extreme versions it gets stuck on the earth and moon rotation animation-testing screen and on antutu on the screen where battalion army animation is shown.
I have tried v2, v4, v5 v6 and till v8 extreme versions(overclocked) of gl notecore kernel. Tried and tested on rocket rom v7, kindroid v4.2 v4 3 and v5.1.1 also on latest and greatest clean note v4 but everytime it got stuck. It never happened to me on overclocked franco's kernel r5 nor did it ever happened on any cm9 or aokp roms while running anidroid kernel. So guys if you can help me out your help would be really appreciated
Thanks in advance.
I guess it's your device because I have used both benchmarks with gl notecore extreme and everything went all right.
I'm using v8 with criskelo's rom v10
i dont think so

For me it is, just use his rom. No tweaks that will conflict his kernel. Using now his rom and his beta 8.2 at full speed.
Not a single sod ore freez. Antutu 7300, quadrant 5300.
Please if you use a custom rom, delete all init.d. Those are his words. You can find it in system, etc, init.d

By his rom do you mean cleannote v4 as it is the current rom im running. Also i checked for that folder but it is already not present there. Also now i have noticed that on his v8.1ex version i get screen freezes while running quadrant which only way to get rid off is restart the phone. Im loving his kernel guys its extremely smooth but just help me out with this problem as i wanna flaunt its performance through technical data. Lol
Thanks for your support guys.

Well some phones do not like oc and uv. You should do a clean install and do not restore apps and system with tittanium backup.
First test your cleanote without your apps. i use nofrills for to set my cpu. Do not use set cpu because many users experiance problems with that.
Good luck
no results.

Hey mate i have already done as you said. I have not restored any app through titanium back up. Infact i do not have titanium even installed on my note on cleannote v4. There is no set cpu installed too. Btw i tried with no frill but still no luck.
One tiny little request if you can will you post the link of this thread on galvin's kernel thread so that might be able to help me as of right now im veey junior member so according to xda rules i cant.
Thanks for your time buddy.
Hi, as you requested, he did post your thread link over at the NOTECORE kernel thread. However, as I mentioned above, I m facing the same issue and have read the kernel developers answer on this as well. Acc to him, not every phone can support the EX version. Its due to the difference in voltages. My phone cannot handle the EX version as well. However, I m happy to stick with the Standard version. If you're looking for great Quadrant and Antutu scores, just change the governer to pegasusq using SetCPU or any similar app, uncheck Power saving option and then run the test couple of times. I always get around 4400 Quadrant and 7100 Antutu scores.
thanks guys

Thanks to all of you guys for your wonderful support and help throughout. oh so atleast now i know whats the reason for that thanks anyways lifehijack and yeah i hit the thanks button for all of you.
Also many thanks for posting this link on gl notecore kernel thread
So is there anyways we could play around with these voltages and make it work. May be some technical experts here might have the answer to that i hope.
Im using notecore 8.1 ex with classic rom v3 and they both run fine have got pretty good scores too.

All you need is the setCPU app (search in xda forums, you'll find it) and change the governer from ONDEMAND to pegasusq, that's it.

Yes bro i have done just the same as an alternative to ex version and it gives onsiderable performance and scores but will always have a craving for extreme version. Hope to get some technical help from xda experts to make ex version run on my note just fine.
As has already been mentioned not all phones are equal. your needs more core voltage than what my extreme kernel is configured for. if i increased it you would then complain about heat and battery life getting worse.
Stick with my standard version as that uses stock cpu voltages and frequencies. If you took the time to read the OP and even the last few pages of the thread you would have seen this mentioned.
You can use tegrak to adapt the frequency and the voltage. This way you can set the frequencies that suit best for your phone.

Just wondering how the battery life and performance is with this set-up. If you feel a different kernel gets better battery life or performance with ParanoidAndroid, please let me know. Any comments and suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
PA + Franco is excellent.
PA + Trinity is also excellent.
Both are great kernels that deliver great performance and long battery life.

anyone ever try this setup? please share what's your experience with this. Does franco has any latest kernel release for i9300?

I've tried all the kernels. I'm on the latest PA as well. Motley's was the best for me I regularly get over 4 hours on screen and 12-20 hours total time. I'm a pretty heavy user, I use like at least 1gb a week. The key is to always have your screen brightness at an optimum level and make sure there's no stupid syncing stuff like facebook. I only sync gmail, contacts, and calendar for 3 gmail accounts. I have "faster" binned CPU if that helps at all. I use trickstermod with a -75mV UV. Diff phones react to kernels diff. Try all of them to see which is the best for you. Most of the other kernels gave me similar battery life to stock which was about 3ish hours on screen and 12 or so hours total time and some didn't respond to UV well. Good luck with your journey :good:

hey sorry guys for bothering but im a noob at roms. i just installed PA but cant figure out how to install franco kernel as well. its an .img file but clockwork mod wont let me use that file. thanks
...Personally after just switching to franco kernel with PA from the stock mako kernel I've had a pretty shi**y experience. Today my phone lasted only 10 hours with 50 mins screen time... wtf?? I'll definitely be moving on thankyou. I have a fast binned CPU and I do run alot of auto syncing apps.. however on the mako kernel all things equal i could easily get 2-3hours screen time and 18-20 hours of battery on time

I tried overclocking. Its gone unstable every single time. I tried running mkernel at 1.6 and it just locked up, got hot and would not boot till it cooled down.
Fellow developers I recently flashed faux kernel on my nexus 4 overclocking upto 1.9 GHz.. I also am using faux clock app.. Its good.. But sometimes my phone crashes all of a sudden... I took OTA updates.. Before rooting my phone and also have flashed a factory image (4.4.4) still it's crashing..

Yeah, really. What the heck do you think it would be? Run it at a lower OC speed and see how it works. Better yet, don't OC at all. The phone runs just fine at 1512MHz.

Ofcourse it will crash, if the N4 could handle 1.94GHz then Google would have given it a 1.94GHz processor. OC is mainaly used for benchmarking mostly, not for daily and normal use. Plus OC will heat up the device badly, considering thermal protection on a mobile phone to be what it is it'll damage your processor too.
Try flashing the factory image anf re-rooting it. Should solve your problem
Okay people thank you for your assistance

You want extreme performance..?? Then, you better stay with CM11. Been there, done that. Tried most of the ROMs and the conclusion is, for gaming and battery life, CM11 stands way ahead than other ROMs. AnTuTu scores with CM11 are >38k while other custom ROMs have <30k. Stock LP and KK has AnTuTu score ~22K
P.S. I'm a gamer too. Played asphalt, gta, nfs most wanted, nova 3, brothers in arms, wild blood, dead trigger, mc5,........,etc. and finally stuck with MC4 :silly:

As long as all the apps and features run perfectly, why will one need LP or MM. And yeah, all the credits goes to developers. Every other day, there is some new rom, kernel or something. They have made us able to get the most out of our device.
And, definitely MoStock with CM11 is a made for each other combo.
For MoStock on CM11 flash this.
WiFi bug solution by @opswiz
1) Download attached zip, extract and place file *01wlanon* to /system/etc/init.d/
2) Reboot and done!!
After this you would be able to use wifi without any problem. But you'll have to reboot each time you use wifi tethering (like in shareit and for other stuff). [You should better enable advanced power menu in developer options, then you can choose soft reboot in power menu, to reboot your phone in just 5-8secs]:silly:
But, for chappil's MoStock Kernel, its worth it.
You can try these customizations for CM11.
Here are the AnTuTu scores in CM11, MIUI7 and stock KK---

Alucard governer is suggested. But, I prefer interactive which has a balance of performance with good battery. Alucard, I found, lags a lot while gaming. And, I don't know how but performance of interactive is better even than performance Governor itself.
Use these settings
Governor - interactive
Min freq - 200
Max freq - 1209
CPU hotplug - msm hotplug (alucard hotplug is also okay)
I/O scheduler - fiops with 1024kb read ahead for internal and external memory
usb fast charge (use charger with more than 1A output for fast charge, more than 2A might harm your devive)
Misc controls - tcp congestion - westwood
Gpu - msm-adreno-tz
This is my configuration for good battery and performance.
P.S. Dont forget to check apply on boot section on each setting page.
