I know using the native ROM can get first upgrade, but using the custom ROM can get more function.
How can I choose? The custom ROM can or not get Google`s first upgrade ? Thanks

Development is really exiting on nexus forums. The devs are really fast to update to the latest build. So dont worry you will get an update pretty soon after the AOSP is out.

Hey all...
I've read the Noob thread on how to flash your first ROM. I ran the Elegancia Rom but it was too much/too busy for me. However, I must say it was quick in response.
By reading the thread I was able to return my phone back the the factory shipped ROM.
My question is, I would like to try Froyo 2.1. Do I need to have a custom ROM in order to try it?
If so, any suggestion on what works best. I was thinking about trying the Energy Rom next.
I'm a noon to just got mine yesterday running energy and look amazing and froyo run smooth

Android works on Stock, but yes, some Custom ROM's have been known to work better with Froyo. Also, upgrading your radio may help, such as 2.12.50.02_2.
Hey use this setup and you will be very happy

Here's the flashing guide.
Just be careful - use the right guide according to your HD2 model (aka. is it a T-mobile model or not?)

Guys is there any costum Rom v 2. 3 stable enough without many problems? Can u tell me what are the problems it has? I need someone who is already using it or used to have it.
Please, go to this Thread, read the last pages, it should answer your questions, too.
Currently there's no 100% working 2.3 Rom. There's a 2.2 Rom though that is nearly fully working for the X8.

Hi. I am keen to learn how to port a Gingerbread ROM which I like to HD2 and would appreciate if someone could advice or recommend me the place to start. The closest I found was in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898215 but someone mentioned that it is already outdated as the advice would only work with older android version.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
so u want to make your own android rom?

I am not sure if this is call making an android Rom ... what I want to know is if I see a good gingerbread rom from the HTC desire for example, how can I "cook" it for hd2?
Yeah I think u mean making, cooking a rom for HD2,not flashing it to HD2 ,right?
I think u need to put alot of time to make a good stable rom.that's y I prefer to download one and just flash it and see how it runs

Yes. I am not referring to flashing it but cooking it for hd2. I have already tried a couple of the custom Gingerbread Rom for hd2 but am not entirely satisfied so I decide to cook one for myself based on the other HTC handsets.
Aha I see,I'm using BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER 2.3.3 RAM_V5 and so far it's great.
ppl also recommend this:
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC2 v2.6.2 [2.3.3][A2SD][tytung r7]
but if u wanna make ur own rom ,if I'm not wrong u can find a Chief program easy to cook a rom for ur desires ,but I'm not 100 percent sure it's an entire rom or just the interface ,I never tried that, have a look at that.
Been using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 rom on my device this rom updates very quickly
Hi, I'm fairly new to the whole rooting Android and custom roms but I've got the basics down. I'm just wanting to know some good custom roms that are pretty much stock roms but with extras in the menus and everything like CM7, also any good rooting apps, etc.

Lot of people from florida for some reason. I can suggest a CM7 or if you want, a sense 3.0 rom. You really just have to go through the roms yourself and find one that you like personally.
I'm currently using CM 7.1 but have tried OMGB, MiKG, Fresh, and most of them I've just reverted back to the stock because certain main features don't work well etc. I've also tried a few not listed on Rom Manager by Clockwork Mod but half of them don't install properly or just work great on the EVO.
A tidbit of advice: Get rid of rom manager, if you want I can link you to my thread where I have a script to flash Amon_ra for you and everything. Rom manager and CWM are terrible on the Evo. So if you want that let me know.
Anyway, there will be bugs and you might just like AOSP in which case, stick with CM7 (I use 7.0.3.1 just because of the battery drain issues I heard about from CM7.1
Alright, let me get that link and I'll check it out.
link is here
ROM Manager and CWM work just fine on my EVO. I've never had a problem with a ROM or backup or anything with either of them. I don't use ROM Manager to flash new ROMs, but I do use it to download MIUI updates. Don't necessarily take one person's opinion as a definite. Don't use ROM Manager to install ROMs though, that will most likely give you problems. Do it the old-fashioned way.

Yes, but only after 1.8.19, which I just upgraded to...I was sticking with 1.8.5 for a while b/c it was very stable on my phone. But yes, you can upgrade now without using ROM Manager.
You can't go wrong with deck rom
