Theme question? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just flashed a new rom, rasbean jelly. Just wondering if anyone might be able to tell me how to grab images from another theme. I am.looking primarily for the blue cobalt xda app. I prefer that color scheme and this is the app I probably use the most.

Decompile. Batch rename the images to their originals. Decompile framework a d any other system apps you want. Swap images recompile and flash. Of course there's a lot more involved.

That's a lot of work, at least it sounds like it. Definitely makes me appreciate guys like you all the more Uber.

Stock emoji drawables... Where are they?

I was curious if any one knows where the drawables for the faces and all the other emojis are. I decompiled the stock emoji keyboard and did not find them there, maybe they are in the source code of fonts or framework... Not sure haven't had a chance to download aosp code. I really like the icons and wanted to replace the cm emojis with these to give those a more unified look, hopefully someone can help

I know the cm emojis are in MMS.apk but the ones from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857 are the ones i want to use and i have no idea where they come from. I decompiled the app and it only has drawables for keyboard keys and not the actual emojis... which leads me to believe it might be a font the apk accesses
Though i may be wrong.

You're right it's part of one of the fonts. I remember awhile ago I was trying to get emoji working on CM9 and there was a font you had to replace. This thread might help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879056

Multi user and themes not working together well

Hello,
I just got my nexus 7 for Christmas and I rooted it. So far I've gone through Smoothrom, Paranoid Android and now I'm on CM10. I kept switching because I was having an issue with multiuser. Whenever I have a theme applied, specifically Goog Le Bean, any second user I set up won't work. If I switch to it there is just endless force closes. Is this something sort of known issue? Is there a workaround? I'd really like to use a theme and multiuser.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Worth noting, I have tried installing the theme on both users, and I was going to set the theme on both users but I noticed you don't have the option on the second user.
Same result, everything force closes. I've tried setting up the account, then changing the theme, and also tried having the account set up after I apply the theme.
Bump
Is nobody else having this problem? I can't find anything in Google.

I have the same problem...
Could not find any suggestions....
via nexus7
I'm also having issues with all Roms I've tried...
The main user is normal but any other user gives me a message saying the themes provider has stopped...
Can someone share some light for this issue?

Theme chooser support for multi users is not fixed yet on ALL custom roms. Unfortunately you'll need to use the system theme if you want to use multiple users at this time. Or just stick with one user and theme away!
When it is fixed, it will surely be clear as day in all the rom's op's as this is a very known issue.

Thanks for your reply... Hopefully they'll fix it soon...

It has been blue since Ice Cream Sandwich, can change the color by flashing a different theme, but your phone must be rooted. Have a look in the Themes and Apps section.
There are many ways to do this, but I believe all the possible way to do this requires root and is pretty advanced, unless you just download and apply the cm theme that contains another color instead of holo.

Look up cm10 or jellybean themes on Google Play. Apply them even if they give an error.

No it can't be done, it exists just on samsung stock rom, maybe there is some app that can help you

The multi window ui is Dependant on the touch wiz framework. Its not impossible. But who knows, maybe someone will take it on eventually

I know there are video players out there that have picture overlay so you can watch a video while doing other things.

Google needs to put it in aosp as soon as possible. I wish they didn't kill off cornerstone as that was originally going to be part of cm but google told them to cease and desist.
Google would have to develop that from scratch, because that's Samsung-proprietary code.
Also, I hope that Google does NOT clutter up Android with stuff like this, for this we have ROMs like PA (which is already stuffed full of features that it barely works as a daily driver).

Paranoid android was great when it was based on cm. Its in 4.2 when they tried to go aosp and make their own tweaks that it became a mess. They need to go back to cm or switch to AOKP(uses CMs main code).
It wouldn't be that difficult to implement multi window. The cornerstone code would be a good starting point and android apps already scale to different resolutions without an issue.

You need to refer to the other annoying threads asking the same thing. You want multi window, get a note 2.

Help Theming PIE

I'm looking for help to theme the PIE controls.
I have PA 3.99 RC2 and am using it's theme engine. I've install Cobalt Inferno which successfully themes every element of the UI except PIE.
What is strange is that this same theme DID theme PIE on PA v3.92 but for some reason, it isn't now.
So, I would appreciate any assistance in completely getting away from the bleh of Cyan by figuring out how to theme PIE.
Thanks in advance.
You have to theme pie in hybrid properties/apps. You have to do it individually or use global colors.

Thanks for the reply but I am not seeing an app in my list that relates to PIE.
systemui isn't it.
Any suggestions?

Go to system/hybrid properties/interface. Change colors to your liking. If you go to apps from that same menu you can change apps individually.

Ah ha. That did it. Man, I swear I tried that before and it had no affect, it was several PA versions ago though.
Anyway, thanks again for the assistance.
