I wanted to know if anyone knew what the layout is for the three pins on the side? Like which is ground etc?!

Those pins are said to be for as yet unreleased desk and/or car docks. I like how they look, too

yup, been waiting for a dock and the car charger, but wanted to do a little project with a nexus dock and wanted to know if the pins/pin location would be the same as the nexus one pins... for example, the middle pin if for letting the phone know what dock its for desk or car dock...
When I plug my phone into the charger for some reason my keyboard lags a lot, does anyone else have this problem?
Or know what could be causing it

aftermarket charger?
I know that when I use my charger (ebay one since my original made whining noises) I can't use my entire touch screen properly..

Hi,
I bought the Spigen Neo-Hybrid case. GREAT looking case. One thing I noticed about it though is that my Auxillary cable for my car doesn't fit in the S4 with this case on. It only really works when plugging in S3 headphones, or something equally thin. I suppose I need to get a new auxillary cable. I figure maybe some of you guys had this problem as well. I tried the RadioShack one and it worked fine, but it is 10 bucks. Anyone know of a cheaper one I could get that is a guaranteed fit? It has to be about the size of the S3 headphone set.
I would try monster cables I have the cassette to aux and it fits perfectly

That's a bummer, but hey... it should be an easy easy fix. All you need is a little headphone extension chord.... preferably one that's a few inches long. Just have to find one that fits though.
Does your mains charger squeal with a high pitch noise that makes you want to bang your head against a wall?
Well suffer no more! Here's the simple solution - make a tiny loop with the charger cable at the phone end and rest your phone on it to keep it in place. Voila! The squeal that makes you want to kill is gone!
Let me know me if this works for you. Peace!
Use blackberry cable.
Faster charging.

It work.
How do you go about doing this? Sorry but not clear to me. I have this noise problem as well when charging.

OP: What country are you from?
ie Voltage / Frequency
Not a problem with me @ 240v 50 Hz....
I'm an electrician, and this piques my interest.
I'm in UK 220 volt, 50 Hertz. I have this high pitch sound from charger that is not constant. It goes higher at occasions during charging. I didn't try another USB cable though.

I have tried other cables, it didn't help. Must admit I am curious about fixing the problem though, it drives me insane.
I am a little concerned that its a fault in the PSU though as the power light on the phone changes brightness and it seems to coincide with the noise changing on the PSU.
OK, make small loops of the cable near the phone and rest the phone on the loop just to keep it in place. Try making one or two loops and listen for the change of frequency. Also flipping the mains power switch can help change the frequency.

Omfg Thanks! It works. Been irritated for so long since the days of my trusted old nokia 6610..

Well i found the problem is not with the cable but the plug itself must be a fault with the design aspect of the housing of the seperate charging plug not being allinged with uk plug sockets correctlym The pitch to it is very similar to a squeal of electrical connection that doesnt have a consistent voltage running through it due to a loose connection being produced from a loose solidified object such as 1 of the the the bottom connectors (try any other plug like a toaster coffee machine etc they will give the same noise when not connected properly). Cant see it being the plastic adjustable top plug as it bares no real objective to the charge other than an earth connection.
I changed my plug from the samsung provided charger to another usb plug-in charger adaptor whilst still using the offcial usb cable that came with my note 2 and have noticed the noise has disappeared and it charges a bit quicker as a bonus. I cant say iv tested the 2 adaptors parallel to each other YET but when i can be bothered maybe il look into it. (For the picky readers in xda i am in my final year of electronics engineering so i kinda have an idea what im talking about just cos my avatar is dressed as a duck doesnt mean im dull as f##k)

Nice try but your wrong. Only high current electrical appliances is connected to earth these days.
Why is it when I use the same power socket for my tv and my charger and only charger gives out the high pitch noise?
Say your theory is correct. Why is looping the cable solving the problem?
I graduated in electronics and electrical engineering from leeds with years of working experience so I know what I'm talking about too.

I don't know.. Voodoo? It works for me, and others it seems.

Or maybe looping affects impedance changing the frequency just enough? I don't know I'm no scientist!

Also it makes an awesome mosquito repellent.

I just got used to the sound. Initially I was having trouble sleeping but now it's all fine. With the looping.

For me it sounds like that only when phone us fully charged.

Same here, silent till it hits 99% or 100%, then this quiet squeaky noise starts

I've also discovered the charger continues to squeal when you unplug it. I think it'd sending subliminal mind control messages regarding the purchase of your next phablet.

I replaced the cable with a blackberry charger cable. Not only is it fixed, but I have a better charge rate which makes me think the original cable was faulty.

Me too.
3 hours full charge vs 6 hours before.
Does any one know where I can get the headphone adaptor. I tried one from Amazon but it didn't work. Apparently it was only for a Moto phone. Thanks
Shouldn't the one from Google work?

I have the adapter form google store and it sounds pretty good. Want to add that Essential's adapter seems to be a bit louder and have more punch. Regular earbuds will have decent sound with either adapter, but using a more powerful headphones may seem under powered.
Get the Razer dongle it has a dac inside it.
