Hey everyone. I wasn't able to find an irc channel for the galaxy note, so I decided to make one.
I'm going to post this in all of the Galaxy Note 2 sub forums (US and Int'l) because all our devices are rocking the same hardware more or less so it'll be a nice place for devs to collaborate and for users to do whatever users do.
If you have an IRC client
Just connect to freenode.net, then #galaxy-note-2
If you do NOT have an IRC client
Here's the web interface for webchat on freenode: http://webchat.freenode.net/
Click the link, put in a username, then #galaxy-note-2 in the "Channels" box, fill out the captcha and go.
Hope to see people in there this phone is amazing.

Such a long time since I've used IRC... a guide to setup for newbs or people who have simply forgotten how to use it.. might be useful.
Download an IRC client (xchat, mIRC, ...)
/nick your_nick
/server irc.freenode.net
do any required /msg nickserv stuff (register/identify)
/join #desirehd

Try this:
1. Download Spare Parts app from the Market.
2. After installing the app, open the app up.
3. Uncheck [Compatibility Mode].
4. Go back to home screen and reboot.
5. After reboot download the Andchat app from the market.
6. After installation open the app and let me know if it is full screen.
Please let me know if it works!
#ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet on freenode is looking rather sparse these days, is there a new haunt?
I see the Fossnet channel is now non-existant.

+1 for this.
I'm thinking of creating a #xda-galaxytab channel on freenode. Would people be interested in this?
Not much point in another new channel, why not just join #ModADroid-Galaxy-Tablet ?
OTOH it depends whether you were thinking of setting up a user or a dev channel, and whether it would be Android based or for general questions, etc.

Yeah, I've been on ModADroid a little lately, but its certainly looking bare.
As for a new one, I can see what you're getting at. Another dev channel would be pointless, but user channels are pretty quick to turn to crap (although the obscurity of IRC usually helps that). It's a tricky balance to perfect.
I don't want a user channel, though perhaps some people would, and I suppose the devs are drifting away from the platform as it gets older hence the very few people we see in the freenode channel. C'est la vie.
Since Android has an official irc channel on FreeNode, i thought that Samsung Galaxy 3 owners would like to see a channel open for fast talk too, so ive opened a discussion channel for SG3:
use any IRC client such as mIRC or xchat to connect to irc.freenode.org and join #SG3 channel.
enjoy
Good idea, I think users should use that when they need (urgent) help. Of course that means people who can help should be online as well. I'll try to be online as much as possible to give help where I can.
nice initiative
Nice idea dude!!!
there is nobody there to help
Or just use this website to connect to #SG3:

Anyone have any interest for a Tab10.1 irc channel?
It'd be on Freenode network...
If a decent response, I'll create one up.
I didn't find a post stating that a channel was created...
I'll go in with you on this... unfortunately, #galaxytab has been registered, but abandoned by rotohammer
Id be down as well.
That goes for me as well.
add me 10charac
I have one on fossnet.info already it's #gtab if anyone is interested but don't let mine stop you from making one on freenode
#gtab on fossnet.info is a channel Rodderik from the Samsung Epic 4G forums and myself have created to chat all things Galaxy Tab whether it's 7" or 10.1". Rodd has a 7" I have a 10.1" and we are both just starting off with the tabs. But it shouldn't be too long before both of us have custom Roms and Kernels for it. So head on over to #gtab on fossnet.info and come and hang and chat with us.
Happy Tabbing
Hello, we have made an IRC channel for people who got Galaxy S.
You can come ask your questions or if you're a dev come help other people.
There is already about 20 people on it which are trying their best to help others.
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=SGS_jb&uio=d4
irc server : freenode
irc channel : #sgs_jb
Good job there david!
Real-time support for any question and good community too.
I hope more Galaxy S owners join the channel.
thanks david, great job, i rated it 5 stars, hope more guys will join the thread and the channel too
Awesome! I go there whenever I got a problem (and while being there, I try to help others as well - it's a give and take )
chan also has an bot (coded by me)
nodbot
some commands:
.latest <romname>
.g <googlequery>
.twitter <username>
.commands (command list)
another cool thing:
1. open http://nodbot.net/
2. type something in #sgs_jb
3. see whats happening
