[Q] UC - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hello,
I did UC to my I9000 by mistake (100MHZ MAX CPU), and now is very slow. I want to return it to its former state, but I cant to do this by "Settings" in the phone.
How can I fix and change it's in the recovery (it means to OC the cpu to original frequency)?
I'm sorry if I opened this thread in the wrong place
ROM: CM10
KERNEL: DEVIL
Thanks.

Recovery - File Manager - Settings - go down and mark auto mount all.
exit file manager and open it again.
Delete Init.D script
System\Etc\init.d
and delete Devil folder in
Data\Local.

[OBSOLETE] Great Combo For Galaxy Ace

This is a list of Galaxy Ace ROM, kernel, and tweaks that (when combined) will make your Ace run blazingly fast!
Tested by me.
I'm not responsible if your Ace went wrong. Make a backup first.
Before we start, make sure you have backup for your important data and applications.
Best ROM
Not sure which is the best ROM, it's relative. So far, for stock ROM lovers you can use Blackhawk ROM by ketut.kumajaya
Best Kernel
CF-Root for S5830. I have no comments. An amazing kernel.
Best RAM Tweak (for stock ROMs without CF-Root only)
Juwe's RAM optimization script. It's working fine on Ace, but the boot time will take longer than usual.
Best Animation Tweak (will smoothen animations on stock XXKPH ROM and activate CRT animation on coderom)
Not sure who share this tutorial, but you will get smooth animations after you have applied this tweak. Using Root Explorer, mount /system/ to RW, edit build.prop, find debug.hw, add a hash "#" before it. Save and reboot. Original post here.
For the best result: make sure you have activate a2sd and convert filesystem to ext4 using ext4 Manager (available through CF-Root) and do NOT apply Conservative Gov (when applied, it will save battery life but will slow down performance)
Okay, that's all.
Please report to me if you get something wrong so I can revise this thread.
I was gonna install coderom for the reboot button feature (on phone options), but the link was down.
Please add this: enabling crt on gingerbread rom by adding a hash (#) to debug.hw in build.prop smoothen everything a lot, especially popups.
XDA ♥
- XXKPH
- Easy Deodex + Root (XDA)
- Zipalign on boot setting from A2SD GUI
- CF -Root updated to b78
- update to CWM 4.0.0.9
- Internal memory converted to ext 4 (by ext4 manager)
- set tweaks => default (no checked list)
thats great combine! i've used this...
very smoothly guys...
thanks, just flash up the RAM optimizer with CWM~

Hi fla.sh,
I don't think anyone will go wrong when they have great combo like this. I have all of them in my SGA. (Of course with CRT as mentioned by consegregate)
Now my ace runs very smoothly.
Hey, if I apply the ram optimization... how do I get to the original configuration? A flash of the kph rom (the one i have) would be enough?
I'd say just deleting the script file should be enough.
And lol that's exactly what I have on my Ace. Plus the CRT animation.

Hi,
I have this question for you... Do I need to install everything in the post CF-Root for S5830 like CF root manager, Tweak, EXT4 Manager etc., or just the below mentioned part is enough?
I just flashed this part to my SG Ace.
Instructions (long)
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Unzip CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b78.zip
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start ODIN v4.38
- Click the OPS button, and select Cooper_v1.0.ops
- Click the PDA button, and select CODE_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03-CF-Root-v3.7-b78.tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
I tried Quardant after installing this Kernel which gave me 1043 (sdcard class 2) which is as equal to what I got before without this kernel. What is your thought?
Quadrant won't show any difference until you convert your system to ext with the exr4 manager.

CF-Root have all Juwe's RAM script options with different values. If you don't mind, I could write a CWM update package to set CF-Root using JRS value and enabling animation CRT ("setprop build.sf.hw 0").

Wow... I don't know that. I was including JRS just because if someone has XXKPH rom without CF-Root, they can increase free RAM

1. Menjalankan dtapps2sd script di mode recovery
2. Kompilasi ulang kernel untuk mendukung ext4 data writeback

Hi All,
I have an issue (may be not), I haven't installed the DT a2sd addon from this thread as I already run on coderom Nexus which has DT a2sd. I entered into Terminal and typed SU and then a2sd repair. After boot I saw i have only 24MB as EXT4 in a2sd GUI and Dalvik cache moved back to internal memory, but I created 2GB as EXT4 while partition which still appears in my Titanium backup. Did I do anything wrong? Which app is correct? Please help. I have uploaded screenshots from both apps.

[SCRIPT][TUTORIAL] V6 Supercharger Optimization & KickAssKernelTweak!

I) : V6 Supercharger Tutorial
II) : Kick Ass Kernel Tweak tutorial
Hi all, I found it V6 Supercharger
This script is a complete memory management fix. More info in the original thread !
Me and some others had tested it and it works ! The phone is smoother and faster !
Note : it's recommended to delete all memory scripts before using this !
Warning ! You need a rooted Phone, and you need a kernel that supports Autostartup Scripts !
( This tuto is provided without warranty of any kind )
If you have laggs ( With or without V6SuperCharger ) see at the end of the post !
I) Tutorial V6 SuperCharger :
First of all you have to downgrade Busybox ( It might work with version 1.19, I don't know but recommended to downgrade cause of risk of bugs ! )
Use Busybox Installer and try version 1.18.2 or lower !
Then you can use Script Manager ( recommended ) or Terminal emulator (Two methods).
And you need the script(V6 update9beta3.1)
Delete .txt extension, file have to be a sh file
Just place it on your SD card.
WITH SCRIPT MANAGER :
Launch Script Manager
Search the script you placed on SD card
Slect it, and select " Run as root " ( /!\ Don't Select Run at boot ! /!\ )
Execute it
It will ask for speed, tap on screen, type 2 and press enter.
You can see now a list with 17 choices.
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better ).
So write 6 or 7 and press enter.
You will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
When it's done, exit Script Manager, and browse to /system/etc/init.d with Root Explorer or equivalent.
You can see "99SuperCharger", you have to rename it in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Now reboot your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch Script Manager and the script
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says : ( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
WITH TERMINAL EMULATOR OR ADB SHELL (First Method) :
Note : Rename file script in "Script.sh" is easier
First, type su ( enter in Super User rights )
Type:
Code:
sh /mnt/sdcard/Script.sh
Select Scroll speed : Type 2 and enter.
You'll see the script with the list
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better )
So, type 6 or 7 and enter
After script done, you will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
Exit terminal emulator or ADB Shell
Browse with Root Explorer to /system/etc/init.d
Rename "99SuperCharger" in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Reboot Your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch script again,
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says :
( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
WITH TERMINAL EMULATOR (Second Method)
Note : Rename file script in "Script.sh" is easier
First, type su ( enter in Super User rights )
Type:
Code:
sh /mnt/sdcard/Script.sh
Select Scroll speed : Type 2 and enter.
You'll see the script with the list
Type 15, and Enter
Type Y and Enter
Exit the script ( Type 17 )
And now, type V6 bash ( or V6 or bash V6 or sh V6 )
You'll see the script with the list
Recommended choices are 6 and 7 ( You can test others if you want, maybe they work better )
So, type 6 or 7 and enter
After script done, you will see under the list, "Current Minfrees = X,XX,XX,XX....."These are the values you've selected before.
Exit terminal emulator or ADB Shell
Browse with Root Explorer to /system/etc/init.d
Rename "99SuperCharger" in "S99SuperCharger" ( If not renamed, it will not be load at boot ! )
Reboot Your phone !
When phone rebooted, launch script again (type bash V6 in terminal),
Choose 0
And after list, verify that says :
( Exemple for choice 7 so, values are values from 7th choice )
Code:
Current Values MATCH Prior SuperCharge!
Current minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
Prior V6 minfrees = 6,8,26,28,30,32 mb
If values match, it's OK !
Enjoy !
II) Tutorial KickAssKernelTweak :
Just Download The script
Rename it as S98KickAssKernelTweaks ( If not renamed, It will not be load at boot ! )
Place it in /system/etc/init.d folder and reboot your phone
___________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________
If you have laggs just download Script file "Cache.sh.txt" in attachement.
Remove .txt extension to have a .sh file.
Put it on your SD card, and run it with Scriptmanager ( You can do a Script widget with script manager to access it simply by homescreen )
Look at here for more information : zeppelinrox's post
NOTE : You can explore other choices by yourself and / or look at zeppelinrox thread !
Tutorial by me !

If you have suggestion, request or question just tell me
Did you had to downgrade you busybox too like was recommended?
Mine is 1.18.4 now. Think it came with Titanium.

Hi all, I found it yesterday, V6 Supercharger
I tried it, it works, and I find phone more responsive and smooth, can anyone test it and give me feedback ?
I use Balanced 3 ( 6th choice )
After you run the script go to system/etc/init.d and ( mount system R/W )
And rename 99SuperCharger in S99SuperCharger
And then reboot the phone ( You can verify by re run the script if setings are saved after reboot )
I wait your feedbacks

I tried it. But my phone stucked in sleep mode each time.
i5 Rom
busy box downgrade and it works on in5 non oc and other cfws
Trying Balanced3 with Kyrillos 6.1, G3Mod v1.3.4 Performance and busybox 1.18.2. Feels pretty snappy, I hope it's not because of the reboot or the placebo effect.
Thank you for feedbacks, for all, please say what ROM Kernel and CPU Settings you use
Yeah, use 1.18.2 !
So, Good or not ?
@arunmcops What kernel do you use ? I have it for 2 days now, and it works properly ( My Kernel: Fugumod_ BE_2.4-alpha19 ( Kyrillos V6 OC defaut ) with 1300Mhz Performances and 246 performance when screen off )
work realy good had to downgrade busybox and used option7 in script manager no freezes realy fast its recommended

[Q] How to enable JIT in XXJPS?

Can someone please tell me how to enable JIT in JPS? I'm on stock JPS because of stability, but i think JIT will boost performance quite a bit in daily use. I see dharamg3 and kyrillos have done it in their ROMs, so can I do it and how to?
Check here.
See the second post in that link. It an easier way.
Thanks, I didn't know that this also works with jps. It says unable to push, it doesn't have permission... How do i know if it worked?

Mount as r/w first. And then push. Type following in terminal.
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl9 /system
exit
And then push.
Or you can copy paste the same using root explorer alos.
I never had luck with those command lines and adb and stuff, but im quite familiar with root explorer, ill just push it that way.
EDIT: i was trying to download quadrant to see if it worked and now i can't instal any app from the market it say package file is invalid, tried reboot, clear market data, nothing worked
Fixed it by enabling trough adb
You can follow the link as stated above : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026870
Steps I followed that worked for me.
1. (see 2nd post in the link above, download the zip file and unzip it) I Used root explorer to copy the files from the files folder to respective lib and bin folder in system.
2. Connected my phone through USB and using CMD i browsed to the folder JIT for example D:/JIT
3. run enable_jit.cmd (It will automatically do everything for you)
Your phone will restart and you are done

[SPRINT] [CDMA]OC Kernel Swaping with Stock EF-17

I have been experimenting with Kernel swapping tring to find the easiest and safest way without Soft Bricking your Tab. I am on Sprint 7" (SPH-P100) and on Stock EF-17 2.3.4, but this method should work on any (Rooted) CDMA Tab.
First find the CDMA ROM that has the Kernel you want to use, DL the ROM and Extract it to its own folder and go into the folder and find the Zimage. Copy the Zimage and paste on your Desktop. Now DL SGS Kernal Flasher from the Market (FREE) Back up your kernal in the APP. Mount your tab and open to veiw files. If there is a Zimage file in there, Delete it and put your new Zimage (Kernel) in its place and unmount your Tab.
Open SGS Kernel Flasher and hit Choose Kernal, Now goto parent directory and scroll all the way to the bottom and you should see Zimage, press on that then hit FLASH Kernel. Now you have a new OC Kernal without using ODIN or Heimdall!!
Right now I am using Galaxy Cubed 3 ROM's Kernel 1.6GHz on stock EF-17. I have found that I am Stable @ 1.4 GHz. On performance using SetCpu I am running 2350 Quadrants More than double the speed of the stock Kernel without VooDoo, or EXT4!! I have also Flashed Initial Contact kernel @ 1.2GHz.
I have done this on my Sprint Tab and it has worked Flawlessly.
Please do so @ your own Risk, as I am not responsible for your Tab. With that being said Happy Easy Kernel Flashing To ALL CDMA Folks.

planing to build somewhat custom rom from stock GB rom.

so yeah. i have done so themeing and i want to take this farther.. thing is i'm a total noob to the coding process. if you have any idea what your doing (and your DeOdexed, if nobody is DeOdexed i can send out my files..?) then please help me.
1. what i want
2. what i have
3. overclock (as of now)
4. how to test what i have so far
5. How to help me out
1.) what i want (for starters anyway):
-1% battery mod
- swipe to remove notifications from status bar
- an overclockable kernel? i have managed to overclock my CPU to 1305 Mhz by modifying my build.prop and using quickclock advanced overclock..
- a Rom name.. i'm not very creative. Post a cool Rom name for this maybe guys? cmon, right now its SaberTooth though.
- native screenshot ability
- status bar toggles, maybe? like WiFi toggle, airplane mode, etc. like cyanogen mod
-CRT on animation enabled
- is it possible to port sense 4.0 accordion effect?
2.) what i have:
-themed status bar
-some BlurHome icon changes
-CRT off animation enabled (only off animation, not on.. Yet
.. yeah i fail..
3.) find ro.product.model=MB612 in your build.prop (located at /system) and change that line ONLY to ro.product.model=XT720. this will trick most apps into thinking your xprt is a Motorola milestone.
you must do this because quickclock advanced overclock doesn't allow the overclock unless its a device that they tested, witch of course the XPRT wasn't tested.. then download quickclock advanced overclock, click calibrate, click automatic, check everything and press proceed. when it has finished do back to the main menu and click overclock and set ur values. mine are
1305 MHz 74 vsl
1000 MHZ 56 vsl
600 MHz 36 vsl
300 MHz 21 vsl
stability buffer: 15
click set CPU and keep.
after you have tested to make sure its stable, open the main menu, scroll down click advanced, boot, delay by (anything between 5-30) seconds, and enable it.
4.) NOTE:do not do this unless:
-Rooted
-Deodexed ( deodex gingerbread attempt {might help if ur lost? if ot i guess ill upload my DeOdexed files?})
-Running Gingerbread
-Using Sprint (maybe, not sure correct me if i'm wrong)
-Have backups. (clockwork-mod, and backup Ur current framework-res.apk, systemUI.apk, and BlurHome.apk -- in mine my .9 patches are screwed up and you cant compile them correctly anymore)
download the attachment and extract it. copy and paste framework-res.apk to /system. fix permissions (mine are rw rw rw, not sure if its supposed to be) and then paste it into /system/framework. (phone will auto reboot)
copy and paste BlurHome.apk and SystemUI.apk to /system, again, fix permissions, (mine are rw r r for BlurHome.apk and rw rw rw for SystemUI.apk) then copy and paste them one at a time to /system/app. (i believe they get force closes as soon as you copy, just lock screen, unlock and then power off phone and back on, then copy in the other app.)
done!
5.) If you downloaded what i have and change anything you feel is for the better, reply with the .apk you changed attached (any .apk, not just the ones i gave out) and tell me witch files inside the .apk were changed and there locations.(just so i can pull the modified files out and add everything to My current .apk)
i need like.. a team
Hahahaha this went no where xD i suck. Whatever
