i recently rooted my epic and am on 2.2 froyo dk28 build. i want to try the nebula rom. my clockwork version looks like to to low to be able to do the nebula rom.... How do i update it/where do i find a different version? and also where is the dk28 modem that it says i need. any help greatly appreciated!
Nebula rom is a great choice. You'll want to search for one click root 2.5.5 download it, unzip it, click run and it will put clockwork 3.x on there and convert all your files to ext4. Before you reboot do the wipe x3 then flash your rom everything should be good to go.
Editj Hey I'm sorry search for oneclickrootcwm3 that's the one you want. It's a sticky in the development thread.

And of course do your backups and all that jazz before you start.

i did use the 2.5.5 to root my phone, and it put clockwork mod 2.5.1.0 on my phone.....
edit: nevermind i found the cwm 3.0+ zip file. going to do that now, however, i still need this modem thing that they are talking about in the thread, does anyone know anything about that?
yeah I meant oneclickrootcwm3 sorry.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
so do i need to worry about that modem thing or is that included in the noobnl download of this cwm3.0?
No if you already have the dk28 rom on there you are good to go.

thank you so much for the help! one more question, when i flash this rom, what option do i choose: "apply update from sd card" or "install zip from sdcard"?
nevermind, i did some reading looks like its "install zip from sdcard"
"install zip from sd card" then pick "choose zip to install" and it will let you install the zip without renaming it.

Also one last thing if you don't know how to odin back to stock I suggest reading up to it. It's very useful if anything screws up......there is a wiki page on it.

Hello,
as the title says, I would like to know if it would be possible to create a flashable zip of the stock gingerbread, so I can further update to aurora. As I said before my usb port is broken, so I would like to know if it was possible to create a way of having the basis of B518 rom, without removing the custom recovery possible in 2.2 .
Regards,
Can't you just download the gingerbread update directly to your phone and make a dload folder using a file manager on the phone?

Yes I could do that, the problem is that it erases the custom recovery, and since there's no way of putting it up on 2.3.5 without using USB, I'm stuck on the original rom :/
Ahh now I see you're problem. Sadly i don't have any ideas on that. Good luck tho!

Go to Focalprice and buy a cheap SSK branded microSD reader then just copy the files via your computer

I totaly new so sorry if I don't any kind of mistake..
I can't backup my gingerbread rom... my phone is rooted. if i try backup it restarted and go to recovery mod...and change the wallpaper nothing else... :crying:
Check if you have a folder "clockworkmod" in the root of your sdcard. If it's there, then the problem must be with the zip file of your CWM. It might be corrupted. Search in XDA for another one - either by Madteam or by Skins.

I am attaching a cwm zip, just flash it via stock recovery and backup ur rom, it will surely work..............
if it also doesn't works try flashing stock kernel, or if u r on it , try flashing stock rom again...........:good:

just delete the boot.img in the .zip file of jellyblast using 7zip or winrar
then copy the .zip to your sd card then flash
Also make a back up or ready mode odin ( just in case )

I've flashed jellyblast and I love it. But when I tried installing otas Ive got a problem.
When I installed ota 1 the screen resolution changed and no audio could be heard. When I played music nothing can be heard. I thought installing other ota would solve the problem but no hope.
So I've again flashed jellblast with no otas.
Also the beats widget shows nothing
