Hello,
I am looking for some help, I bought Tab 2 P5100 and it came with android 4.0.3. I found that there is OTA to 4.0.4 for Baltic region, however nigher my tab finds and update, nor Kies. I have not done anything to my tab, no rooting, no custom roms etc.. my device status is Modified for some reason. What can I do to safely update it to 4.0.4 Baltic firmware?

Hello, I can't update my 2.3.3 firmware via Kies.
My phone has: I9000XXJVO - baseband version.
What should I do to get 2.3.6 firmware ? thank you
You can only upgrade through kies for your area based on your ROM version.
If you want a newer version you are going to need to either flash a newer stock ROM through Odin or flash something like darky rom/cyanogenmod 7.
Here is a thread with instruction for latest firmwares: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
Remember that you could end up trashing you phone and your warranty by doing this.

Hi,
I installed the leaked 4.4.2 Polish version of KK and do not want to upgrade to the version of the next day which is Kies official.
(I had to because I had the Hong Kong version of the Note 3 Snapdragon, and the leaked version had the 4 files + using the PIT file worked)
a)Are there any differences and/or will it prevent me from updating OTA when future updates come up?
b)Now that I succesfully upgraded to a European version, do I still need to do in the future the 4 files flash on ODIN when new versions come up?
(some people reported phone stuck on Samsung logo when upgrading to 4.4.2 with only 1 file and could not flash anything else afterwards.
Hello,
I bought a GN3 in Hong Kong. I've tried many times to upgrade to the newest fw via OTA or Kies unsuccesfully.
Here is the details of my phone:
AP: N9005ZHUBMI7
CP: N9005XXUBMI5
CSC: N9005ZZHBMI7
As soon as the phone tries to install the new firmware, the phone gives an error and stops the upgrade. I don't understand why.
I would like to upgrade to an european FW like ITA nobrand. And I have some questions:
1) Will the CSC change as I flash the new FW, I mean will be installed the new CSC ?
2) I heard about the knox trigger. Will it be triggered or not ?
3) The status of the phone will remain "Official" ?
4) The upgrade to the new firmware MK2 will not allow to get the root anymore ?
5) Can I upgrade to new released FW in the future via OTA or Kies ?
Thank you in advance.
Hi, yesterday I received the GT-I9506, and I have seen that if we update to 4.3 and root do we run out of warranty.
So if I root 4.2.2, you could leave the phone factory and if I want to upgrade to 4.3.
I want to install this rom, but i dont know that CSC put, I live in Spain. (Do not know if this influences)

What would be the best way to upgrade the ROM. I had a look and CF-Auto Root (which I believe I need for installing the recovery) only works on Lollypop 5.0 for N9005, which I have not yet got the update. Would it be better to wait for the official update for my carrier (Vodafone Australia). If I install an update for 5.0 (any suggestions for a good firmware) from another region, would it be compatible?
I have tried towelroot, and it does not work (I believe there was an update which blocked it).
If anyone has updated from the Vodafone AU phone, or from 4.4.2, any tips is most welcome.
Rooting is not required to install a custom recovery.
You need to install a custom recovery such as twrp to install a custom rom.
You could install twrp using Odin.
