Any ideas if Nexus 4 will be able to play flash via side loading the APK?
I think the Nexus 7 could through the stock browser (google chrome)... hopefully this can too.
although i'll be glad when flash has died on the web.
It wouldn't be able to through chrome. You would need to flash the stock browser and flash.

maybe it was the stock browser and i just failed to remember it properly!
Firefox for Android also supports Flash. That's about all I use it for. Dolphin removed support a few versions back.
Old stock android browser would not install for me. I installed adobe flash, and am currently using Firefox Beta to view flash content.
I loaded a flash page on firefox and it says "a plugin in needed to display this content"

It really depends on what you mean by flash videos. The FLV video format is supported by a number of apps on the play store (VPlayer is one example).
The official Adobe Flash Player app is confirmed as working (there is a thread in this section id you search for it titled '[Q] Does Adobe Flash Player install/work on Jelly Bean?'). However, Adobe have stated that they will not support 4.1 and later, and will drop support completely after August 15th.
Short answer: Yes, it will work without support from Adobe. It may stop working at any point in the future.
Ok thanks heaps.
Just one question, will I be able to use the chrome browser with Adobe flash player? Or would I need to use a different browser?
Cheers

Chrome doesn't support Adobe flash so just use ICS Browser + (or almost any other browser, really).

Adobe will be removing the flash app from the market, so make sure you save a copy of the APK
I have personally confirmed that flash works with 4.1 on firefox. But any browser that says it supports flash should work.
Chrome will not.
and as Censura said, save a copy of the APK because on August 15th it's being removed from the market for new downloads.
OK thanks heaps, I can't wait for my n7 to arrive now
Cheers

1mobile.com lets you download APK's
Get it from Adobe:

Downloaded Flash Via an apk file and managed to get the video working from TV network websites so I can watch prior episodes I've missed. BUT there is no audio.
Can I use Firefox Beta or maybe I have to utilize a different browser?
Thanks much for your help.

How about some help for a bro?
Seriously, I'm returning the Nexus 7 if I cannot get Flash to work with it. There are many websites I go to that use it so personally it is a deal breaker. I admit this is a better hardware device than my KF but at least the latter does what I need it to.

Thanks alot, I owe you one!
I cannot play videos from every website I went to test it, but 90% worked for video AND sound.
I'm bookmarking the link you provided cause I have a feeling when another software update comes along it may not work and the developers will update that thread accordingly.
All other apk files for Flash I tried beforehand didn't work except the .17.

Flash is a bit hit and miss on the N7 but flash down loader on Play might be of use.
For TV in the UK you can't beat TVCatchup.
Thanks again for the thread on xda for Flash .17.
Still some websites where I cannot play videos BUT those are in the minority versus those that work.

I installed boat browser from the play store and flash works ok with it. Think there is also an AOSP browser for 4.2 in the forum somewhere, it should work with it also.
Works with Boat but on mine crashes full screen. I can't get the stock browser to work at all - just crashes on starting it.
Did not work in boat brower

AOSP browser crashes, boat also crashes and firefox beta as well on playing flash in full screen. It worked on AOSP in 4.1.2
I must say it crashes on some sites and for some it works well
I would be most grateful for any help or advice with setting up my Nexus 10.
My first problem is getting browsers that work with flash player. I've installed flash player but there is no option to activate it in the Opera Mobile browser or in the Chrome browser.
Also, I cannot use the BBC iPlayer or the latest BBC Media player for it says they are not compatible.
you can try boat browser. that is what Iuse on my echo and Erik install on my nexus 10 tonight.
I think skyfire supports flash but you have to buy the add on.

I've tried the boat browser and skyfire but they will not allow me to view a web site that uses flash player because I get an error asking me to install flash player which I have already done.
Perhaps those two browsers will only allow you to view video using flash player.
But I'm not sure.
Dolphin browser worked for me after installing flash. It is similar feel to chrome which is nice.

Yes, I've now managed to get flash working and it is great on the Nexus 10
For general information the stock web browser will still support Flash. You can sideload Flash to the device and play videos and view other sites requiring Flash. I was searching the internet and wanted to see a clip but it required Flash. I downloaded the latest Flash Player and installed. Worked fine with the stock browser.

Just curious about where do you download the flash player.
Just google Adobe Flash Player 11.1_11.1.115.34-1.apk you should find somewhere to download it

Download from adobe:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.54/install_flash_player_ics.apk
Dolphin Browser works best with flash player, but you need to root the phone and hack the settings.
Use Root Explorer or similar app to edit mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml from data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser
change the line string name="plugin_state" from OFF to ON or ON_DEMAND and save

It works 100% with mine.
I understood that Dolphin removed flash support, so it will not work with the current revision of either Dolphin or Dolphin beta. However Boat browser still supports it. I understand there is a work around hack, but its not worth my time when another browser works just as well.

For those who want to stream video via Amazon Prime, experiences have been generally negative. I had no luck with stock or xscope and others have had little luck with other browsers. Other than that, Flash experience has been OK for me.

Flash working fine here on stock browser, but even better, on this tab stock browser also supports smart text reflow, something sadly missing on stock browsers since gingerbread.

You can also use dolphin browser with user agent set to ipad. Flash type files seem to work fine.

The stock browser already support flash player. Beside, you may try Boat Browser, but have to purchase the pro license keys. Another choice is Lightning Browser.
However, I am searching for the compatible version of the adobe flash player, the latest and last version is 11.1.115.69, but it does not seems to be stable as I thought the latest should be bugs fixed and stability. I have tried to roll back to 11.1.115.54 and is more stabilise.
Flash archives straight from the source.
