Nokia Lumia for you!
Nexus 4 though, on the cool.
Dude... Are you serious!? No need to be freakin specific, you shouldnt even have asked that question in first place...
If you would have said iPhone 5 or Nexus 4 then I maybe would have thought about it. But iPhone 4S vs Nexus 4...
Of course the Nexus 4. Why? It has a lot better SoC, better screen (the screen on iPhone 4S is TINY) and so on.

To OP, for asking such a question, on XDA no less, I would suggest you go get an iPhone 4. It's much easier to use.
obviously.
You should get the Nexus 4.. I'm also getting this beast when it's released. Guerilla Glass and 4.2 man.
iPhone, no doubt! It's an amazing app drawer!

iPhone 4s for sure! There's no comparison. Just the fact that you can customize the crap out of it should be reason enough. Not to mention the massive amounts of RAM, the mind numbingly awesometastic screen. Oh and the multitasking! You would be a fool to even consider the N4

Ram doesn't matter that much in iPhones compared to android phones. Also try them both out in a shop and we which you prefer if you ask on here you will get a biased opinion same as if you ask on a mac/iPhone forum.

You are asking a question in a very biased community, just about everyone here is an android user. this is a development community and iPhone development is a joke. That being said, go with the nexus 4, it is a better deal, and has better specs.

Looks like its you who needs to use iOS for some more time :silly: Ever tried opening a few tabs in safari, leaving the app for a while and coming back to it again? Its so frustrating to see all the tabs reload all over again!! And thats just one example. Use a wallpaper like typo clock (I think its called something like that). It updates after a few seconds of waking the device. Kinda pointless of having it as a wallpaper in that case IMO.
Just because iOS is better coded, doesn't mean 'RAM does not matter'. Every OS needs RAM to perform optimally. As they say, 'you can never have enough RAM'

I don't know why people keep saying this. Many of us here have had/ still have both iOS and Android devices. Heck, many (including me) have even had WP7/7.5 devices for some time. Just because we are on Android forums, doesn't mean we aren't on MacRumors or WPCentral. Yeah, some do talk through their asses about OSes they have never used, but some also give informed opinions. The final choice, of course, is OP's to make

Well, actually you DID
So you use it PLENTY and have never opened more than 2 tabs at once
RAM was one among the few examples I pointed out to show that the iPhone 4s is inferior to the N4. Now had the OP asked about the iP5, i would have told him it is a graphical powerhouse. And that the choice between the two would be tough. But you can't say a phone that has 512MB ram compared to the one that has 2gigs isn't a disadvantage. Even apart from the RAM, the 4s in hardware wise inferior to the N4 (which is to be expected coz its a year old phone after all).
As for the software, well, thats personal opinion territory right there

I am quite heavily considering it. Tho I think I wanna wait for series 2, just to make sure custom rom community is there. Being rooted and unlocked bootloader from factory. But I think I should buy one to ensure there is a series 2
So who else is considering one of these synapse phones? To maybe replace their N1

Man that seems like such a good idea....
The first day someone posted about it on gizmodo or something, I went and looked at the prices. I "built" a phone using all of components that would put it above similar phones spec wise, it was going to cost about $900 USD.
Considering I spent my entire summer savings on my Nexus One ($580 + ~$20 for screen protectors, case, etc = $600) It's not necessarily a good or bad value. If I had that type of expendable income, I would totally go for it!
The concept is cool though - make a phone that caters to your needs. I wish an American company would try this! Maybe Google? "Nexus 2 - Have It YOUR WAY!"

hahahahahaa. Somehow, equating a $500+ phone to fast food just doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. lol
It's an interesting idea - I won't be in the market for a new phone until September 2011 so will keep an eye on them until then. That should be enough time for them to succeed / fail.
I like the idea of a 3 year warranty..
sounds like a good idea, but they are being jackasses, 256mb of ram as the basic mode want more ram? well pay up, which is just plain 2008 or wifi, 3.5mm as options when these are basic necessities for a smartphone.
Seems more like a dream idea than an actual production device

Because the Atrix is the greatest phone ever, and if you disagree, you're a troll.
/sarcasm.
GNexus has the 2nd most powerful Android SoC, and only due to LTE compatability issues, yet people are screaming their head off about how "underpowered" the GNexus is. The Atrix won't see ICS officially until July, if ever. 4.0.3 is the official base version of ICS, and Motorola stated that they were waiting for a release to "enable device manufacturers to ship commercial product with ICS." Direct quote from MotoMobility, ie they haven't started on any ICS based ports. Throw that on top of their 2-3 month development cycle and the 3-4 month carrier testing cycle all USA carriers require of their devices and you have a ~6 month delay for major OS updates.
Galaxy is by no means underpowered.... what are people expecting? Quad core 2ghz? Geez.
There are so many Android phones out there, that they have to roll out updates slowly. Thats why i feel alot of people dont like Android. They use a 25 dollar Android phone they got at Walmart and they hated it and now they think all Androids are slow and have crappy resolutions with un responsive touch screens. One of the many reasons I like Apple. 1 phone they have to develop for (well, 3 but generally the same). And will always get updates.
Android screwed themselves over by releasing 18 Android phones under each carrier and people expect updates for every phone when every phone is different.
Atrix 4g should get the update as far as I'm concerned, but I wont throw hissy fits if it doesn't.
People gotta step back and realize its just a phone.

I'm not really sure if the battery is replacable or not. It's not as easy as with other smartphones, but it is possible, right? You just have to careful to not break some wire.
Because otherwise, what could I do if the battery would die? If it wasn't replacable, I mean. I've read somewhere that the battery inside the N4 has 800 "cycles".
Uh, well, like ANY OTHER PHONE with a "non-removable" battery you have two options:
1) Buy a battery, crack it open, and replace it.
2) Send it to the manufacturer and have them replace it.
If under warranty then have it fixed. If not under warranty the either take it to a repair shop and have it fixed or fix it yourself by replacing the battery or buy a new phone. There is a video that is very good on disassembly of the nexus 4....

It's still not nearly as popular as the GSIII or the One X for example, even if LG would've produced more. Everyone looked weird at my Nexus S, as they would at a Nexus 4. They just don't know it exists.
It is a VERY popular phone at a community like XDA. But the "normal/mainstream" customer doesn't know about it, and will never buy one even though the price is ridiculously low.

Who cares? Quality > Quantity. I don't idealistically want a phone that everybody else has. It's popular within the developer community, that's what matters to me. They wouldn't of thought your Nexus 4 is a Nexus S because Nexus S sold less than Nexus 4 most likely.
Why wouldn't they buy the phone? T Mobile is praising subsidized devices on their carrier and will be offering marketing within their stores.
One X is also not a popular phone with HTC on the decline.

What is your point? I'm saying I don't want a phone that every body else in their damn world has. No body would mistaken the N4 as a NS.

I don't have a point. I think you are misreading/misunderstanding.

We all gather to pay respects, then bury it?
Ask apple owners....

If under warranty then have it fixed. If not under warranty the either take it to a repair shop and have it fixed or fix it yourself by replacing the battery or buy a new phone. There is a video that is very good on disassembly of the nexus 4....

The battery is considered a consumable and usually not covered by warranties.

Misunderstanding what. You're confusing me. You're pointing that the Nexus device isn't a popular device compared to a S3, iPhone. I agreed with you, PERSONALLY in my experience, I don't want a phone everybody in their world has or know what it is.
Being a popular phone is very subjective anyway. In the developer community or android hard fan base, it's a popular phone. The average user only knows of Droids, Galaxy S#, iPhones, Blackberry.

That last sentence, that's what I meant. I wasn't fighting with you, or even disagreeing. Just forget it.

Anyone notice how the Nexus 7 has commercials but, the N4 & N10 don't have any?

But you're right. Not as much as the N7.
Absolutely loved my nexus 5. Was a great phone but I wanted a bigger screen. I really thought about the OPO for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Two days in and in couldn't be happier. Battery life is insane, camera is so much better, feels way lighter, double the storage, and I got it for the same price I sold my nexus for.
Only cons I see so far is 3rd party accessories are lacking big time and doesn't seem to be as many ROMs but stock rooted is working great for me anyways. So glad I went this route.

Probably didn't need to create a thread just for that, lol.

Just be patient. Due to the whole invite system, these phones are not that popular at the moment. Once they will become easily available for everyone, I'm sure the accessories market will explode.
As to the "slim offer" of ROMS you're refering to... You should have another look really, as there are quite allot of them.
i hope so, cause the nexus 5 is couple years old.

it is almost one year only, sorry. seems a lot longer for some reason.
I cant wait
I cant wait to get mine in the mail. I am currently using a Nexus 5 so this is great to hear.
Feels way lighter though its 30grams heavier? Wow... that's a huge difference for a phone.
Ya feels lighter to me at least. Maybe because its not so compact.. I don't know. Don't care if there's already a thread either. Lol. My voice must be heard.

Came from a Nexus 5 myself which is in my opinion one of the greatest smartphones ever made, so I had high hopes for this and it hasn't let me down. Although I did love the feel and size of the N5, the OPO simply outclasses it in every category. I may even keep this phone as my backup when the Nexus 6 drops instead of selling it towards the purchase cost. Although I love my OPO I'm definitely getting that ish, I've been dreaming of a Moto-made Nexus for years. And if I don't I still have the next best thing
