[Q] CWM Recovery via nvflash - Thinkpad Tablet General

Hi
Just wondering if someone can help clarify.
I have the k1 tablet. I flashed \K1_JB_AOSP. accroding to various threads this should already contain a version of CWM recovery. Yet after i have successfully flashed it - I can not see/access CWM. What have I done wrong?
I am expecting to access CWM by going into recovery mode (holding vol up/down with power) - is that correct?
Maybe silly questions but have searched everywhere without luck
Thanks
Manny

Guys? Anyone?

hi
am i posting this in the wrong place?

[Q]Can't install ClockWork Mod on Rooted Transformer, help! :(

Ok, so I used the NVflash method to root my Transformer, but didn't realize there was no custom recovery with it to flash new roms, update.zip's etc.
So now I'm trying to find a way to get ClockWork Mod recovery on it and so far I can't figure it out, even tried this one but it left to an infinite reboot leading me to use NVflash again.

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated...
Uh, I'm stumped, recovery showed up finally after a couple of attempts from that link above

Original transformer bricked

I updated the CMW recovery via ROM manager and now my tablet is bricked. I can only get into the recovery but it does not recognize my external sdcard and this is where my rom are. so there's no way to flash the rom.
Btw, the serial# start with B50.
Does anybody know i can resolve this?
Thanks

'No way to flash the rom' is not right. Seeing you have a B50, you should be able to do it with the nvflash method. Search this forum for the methods, there are a lot of threads with instructions.
Good luck.

NEVER EVER use ROM manger on the TF101, it is a well-known source of bricks.
Bad news: you lost all your data and there's no way around it.
Good news: you can use nvflash/wheelie to reflash the device.

You're not bricked, just needed to do a little searching.
Cold boot:
Hold Vol Down plus Power button
Wait till you see the options of Cold boot Linux or Wipe data
Choose Cold boot Linux and it should boot into the OS (Unless you wiped the system)
Use PERI to fix your recovery

If that don't work there's a thread that show you how to fix it via terminal our adb shell.

Of course NVFlash work too.

Woops,
Found this too

Did you flash the CWM.zip in TWRP? I ask because there was a known issue when flashing CWM from TWRP you would get stuck in a recovery loop. I had the same issue and had to flash the stock .img to get out of it. Good luck.
i flashed the CWM zip that was posted in the CWM thread, bout to try and get myself free..
::success.
booted into bootloader
flashed bootloader, restarted, booted into my rom...
rebooted back into bootloader
flashed recovery
wipe/flash normally
I'm in the same exact situation, Could you share with me how you got it to boot into bootloader? I've been trying for awhile now. As I'm stuck in CWM I'm thus far unable to use adb. I'm a total adb noob so there is probably something quite simple I'm missing. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried that many times. It's not working. I wish I had read this thread carefully and learned that it might be dangerous to flash cwm zip from TWRP, I had no idea.
The thing is is that it never really shuts down properly(thought I remembered a power off option on one of my epic 4g cwm) So when I press the power button while on the reboot system now option, that is what it does but back to recovery. I tried the volume button as you suggested as well as every other combination I could think of. :~(
Well in messing with drivers(uninstalling old drivers/devices installing universal naked driver) I had the nexus 7 q3 tool waiting for adb to enter fastboot and reflash TWRP so I could restore) and the tool suceeded in kicking me into fastboot(with an error in the toolkit) The toolkit stopped communicating though. I want to use the toolkit to reflash back to stock now that I'm in the bootloader screen.
I'm a bit nervous though, some warning about flashing asus stock blobs being a sure way to HardBrick. I think I'll wait until I get better information. I am on the bootloader screen, but I'm certain my bootloader as it sits is messed up from flashing CWM.
*Edit* Success!! I used this ; "[Guide] Returning to Stock and/or Unbricking your device"located here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781250 (not sure how to go about inserting a descriptive link sry :~( I'm now back to stock and ready to brick it again...umm, I mean, root and flash like there's no tomorrow. hehe Thanks for the input.:good::good:

What do you mean, "pass"?
As far as I know (and yeah, I'm a hated fresh newbie ), there are 2 'recoveries', for different purposes while using CM 10.2. After entering the Recovery menu (reboot, at the blue light, press VOL - ), there is the "Recovery" option. Inside that menu, there are 2 options: Custom Recovery (the CM recovery, ClockWork Mod), and Stock Recovery.
Did it help?
If any expert is around, please correct me if I'm wrong.
If you need further help, please put your question more detailed.
Thank you I managed to blow ave RomManager
