I hope I read that right but have you tried any of the wireless tethering apps? Which carrier do you have and which phone and ROM?

Just stick the SIM card of the 3G dongle in your phone. No need for the laptop.

Can I use HSDPA modem with HTC touch?

Hi
I recently got a Huawei 220 modem, which enables connection to the internet via HSDPA. The modem comes with USB cable. its primarily used to connect to laptop, so the laptop can connect wirelessly to the Internet via HSDPA, almost anywhere in my country.
My question is, will I be able to connect the Huawei 220 to my HTC Touch, and use the Huawei as a modem so that I can similarly connect my HTC Touch to the internet? I reckon the HTC Touch is like a mobile laptop in a way, with some difference of cos. Anyone has tried that before? Thanks!
no usb devices are devided into 2 types hosts and peripherals
only usb hosts can use other usb devices peripherals can only be used
99% of htc phones are peripherals
Celios makes a cell phone docking station which can serve as a USB host IIRC. I wonder how that works.

Use Mobile Phone as Wireless to Ethernet Bridge

Hi there,
I am looking for a phone that would allow me to join a wireless (wifi) network and then share the connection with an ethernet connected laptop.
I assume that I will need a phone that can accept either a USB or Compact Flash ethernet adapter.
Has anyone come across such a solution?
Regards,
Tim
99% of pocketpc's are usb slaves and cant ever connect actively to any usb device
but 99% of pocketpc's can work as usb and bluetooth modems for pc's
Unfortunately USB is not an option as we are in a secure environment and USB access is locked down on the laptops.
However you could use your phone connected to your computer with USB, bluetooth, or wifi then connect a hub to your computers LAN port then setup ics with your comp.

[Q] Share Wifi to USB or Bluetooth

I have searched and found a lot of ways to teether my 3G connection to my desktop/laptop via USB or Bluetooth. Not what I need. Here's my perdiciment.
My USB wifi adapter is kaput. I would like to save some bucks and not have to buy another one.
So, I would like my Sprint TP2 to connect to my hotels wifi and then allow my laptop/desktop to connect to my TP2 via USB or Bluetooth and access the internet.
I thank you for your time in advance!

Network adapter Wifi/Bt

Hi all.
I search app which simulates the network adapter on the computer using radio phone module.
There can be who that saw such program.
Its possible?
Sorry for my english.
do you mean turning your phone into a wifi/BT usb adapter? not sure you can do that, you can share your 3G via USB so in theory you could share wifi/BT in the same sort of way.
Yes.
I had a necessity to connect two computers in a local network, without having a cable.
The laptop, it is necessary to make one of them only wifi/bt adapter on other computer.

How to Tether Phone to Xbox

I have a grandfathered Verizon plan with unlimited data. On average I receive a blazing ~56ping and 29-34mb download and 22-25 upload. No mobile hotspot plan so I use the apps. I do not have root access to my phone (HTC One M8 HK edition). Usb tethering has worked for me fine and I need to know how to Tether to my Xbox. Obviously I know I can't plug it into the usb ports. I have been looking on Amazon at Female Usb to Make Ethernet adaptors. Stick the male Ethernet component into the back as you would the wire, then connect my phone with the usual micro Ian cable and inset it into the adaptor. Has anyone had success using this to connect to Xbox live. Or are there any other wired means to connect a Xbox to a phone.
I would plug it in to a PC and activate windows network sharing.
