Just tried skype ver 3.0
The sound comes out the speakerphone speaker and not the earpiece. Is there a way to correct that?
I remember seeing a post not too long ago with a fix for this but I can't find it anywhere now...
Thanks!
T
I suggest you use Nimbuzz, you can make Skype calls with it and you can choose the sound output from the speakerphone speaker to the earpiece speaker, but by default it is set to the earpiece speaker.
unfortuatly nimbuzz doesnt support skype anymore.. any other solution
Hello all,
I want to use my headphone (without mic, not the stockone) to make/receive calls while listening to music. But, this is not possible, as whenever I plugged the headphone in, the built-in mic is muted.
This thing is possible in all of my old Nokia phones.
I tried to google, and saw some solution given for some HTC phones, but not this Huawei U8800. In those solution, they have an option to not mute the built-in mic.
Is there any solution for my U8800?
Thanks!
Search trough the dev section of u8800, there is a fix of some sort!
Does anyone have a working Skype apk that works w/ Amazon Kindle Fire?

Haven't you heard the news?
You can't make audio/video calls on Skype yet, no microphone is supported as of today.
You can only use it for IM.
apk is here

It has been said a lot about those mics in that thread, but the OP made 2 different opinions about using skype. The other users only used those mics with Voice Recording(Tape-a-talk app I think), nobody was able to make a call with skype.
Could you please share your experience with the 3 pins microphone? (I haven't got any of them so I can't try)

Crashes for me as well. I was hopeful given the threads about 3 pin mic support. I have extra headsets--if you dm I'll send you one.
I only tried voice calling the Echo / Sound Test Service, and it doesn't crash. However, it does just hang up after it rings.
I was able to launch the Skype apk attached to this thread successfully. It allowed me to make an outgoing call with the Fire and using the Edutige EIM-001 mic, but it disconnected the call a second or two after I picked up the call on my cell. I wasn't able to hear my voice when I called my cell since it disconnected so quickly. Unfortunately this is a mic only with a TRRS connector so the speakers are disconnected when it is plugged in. I am going to do some tests to see if I can rig the mic to work without causing Fire speaker disconnect. I still have to test with Google Voice.
I would be interested to know about it very much. So far I have no luck to make a call using mic
I been working on the mic problem all night. So far I think this tablet is missing something. Skype loads but wen making a call it does not see a mic at all.
Changing settings I have got the mic to work with a recorder for a test done a 20 min voice test no problems at all. But other apps like talking tom so on give error of no mic found.
Still working on this but not seeing what the problem could be.

I have a successful call using Google Voice but unfortunately only one direction
I mean I could make a call and the other party could receive this call. The problem is that I could hear what that party talk but I can't get his voice. It looks that it works only incoming direction ... but it looks to me that mic itself is ok.
Anyone has has better experience?

What are the changes that you made? Were you using a standard headset mic?
Sounds promising....
I did no changes. I used mic: Universal 3.5mm In-Ear Stereo Headset w/ On-off & Mic for , HTC myTouch 4G Unfortunately I don't have enough technical knowledge to resolve the issue although it sounds promising
Hi Guys,
My Nexus 4 is getting power off while i am using Skype. That too when i am connecting ear jack while on skype
it happens when i am speaking audio call , video call ..but if i donnt connect ear phones it will work
is it is a problem with Ear jack that i am using??i am using a samsung mobile ear jacks
if it is the Problem please let me know which i can make use of??
Regards,

I am having issues with making phone calls when using headphones with mic. I can hear perfectly but the person I am speaking to says the line is terrible with a hissing noise. This is no problem when only using the phone for calls.
I have this problem when I record my own voice with a voice recorder and use the samsung headset mic. I have no problem when I use just the phone's mic to record voice.
I have done some searching and found similar issues for people recording video. I have tried this edit of the build.prop file found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/help/to-fix-noise-recording-t3689517 But that has not fixed the problem.
Could someone else please try recording their voice with a headset mic and let me know the outcome.
If anyone has some solutions, I would be grateful.
