Hi I am from india.and last 4 years I am using android phone.currently with note2.my questions is can I root my windows phone like android.and install new custom rom.any dev make custom rom for w8?
Well, Windows Phone can be rooted and you can install custom ROM depending the model of your phone. You can search it in the Windows Phone 7 area, here in XDA.
Windows 8, as far as I know, no custom ROM. There will be capped versions of it, likely, but I didnt heard about it until now.
Ok thanks for answer.

I want to root my Nexus 4 and install newest CM. One problem is, that there is Android 4.4 update comming soon. So if I root my Nexus and install CM, can I get my phone back to stock and update Android to 4.4?
Yes. You can either flash the 4.4 images, or simply install a 4.4 based custom ROM (the more practical solution my opinion) since you will already have installed a custom recovery.

If I have CM installed, can I somehow get everything to stock. Like my Nexus 4 just came out of box?

So hey guys I've an Asus nexus 7(grouper) with 4.4 ota that's unlocked, rooted with tarp . I used Wigs program to do all of the above. But for some reason every time I try to install a new Rom( purity/cm11) it always fails. I've been rooting and installing custom roms for years now and never had this problem. Please help.

I am having the same problem with different roms and would be interested in knowing the cause - some work and others fail.
I have had that problem. I had to update TWRP. That fixed it rite up.

Hi! I am totally a noob in terms of the word "rooting" and I would like to know how to root my S4 (international version; globe [carrier]) it's android 4.4.2. I know that maybe this question is somewhere kn the forum but i am new here in XDA and i would really like to root my phone with a good procedure and at least understandable by a "noob". Thanks for the help!

1. Report your own post, asking for moving it into the Q&A section;
2. What for do you need to root the phone?
3. Do you know that by rooting it (on the current community knowledge level) you will trip the KNOX e-fuse?
4. look here for answers
1. Sorry. I already reported it.
2. Make battery life longer/make my phone work fast. Remove bloatware apps installed in the device. Maybe install custom roms but still learning so i won't brick my device.
3. Yes.

Fair enough. But, i'd recommend you to go to Android Development/Original android Development sections here. You will find plenty of custom, prerooted ROMS, so presumably it would make your life easier just to flash prerooted one.

Download official rom from:
Code:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P5100
or
Code:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/?
and flash it by Odin program.
Personaly I think Android without root is *** Generally Tab2 have horrible lags and should bee boost by custom modifications...
I recommend you use new custom roms with KK 4.4.2
Ok i am thinking about root could you give me some links to a tutorial of how to root this device an what i neeed to get kitkat

Easiest way is to just flash a custom recovery with Odin and installing a custom Rom.

No. Sammobile is for official (Samsung) builds. One can use Odin without root. Sammobile even gives the steps to get it done. Achieving root grants you access to ALL files (system and otherwise) so one can flash custom ROM's and other mods. Of course, having that kind of access means you can brick your Tab as well. I really suggest reading as much as you can about root and custom ROM's before you do such a thing. Knowledge is power when it comes to the root game.

u can use titanium backup to freeze or uninstall all the bloatware and use Wanam exposed to customize the way u want or install custom recovery and flash custom rom u want.
