Your computer and your Windows Phone 8 work together seamlessly with the Windows Phone app so you always have your photos, videos, and music, and more where you want them.
good news is : Now you can connect your windows phone 8 to your PC and tablet in a new way ! with so many crazy features .
also the bad news is : this application is just for windows phone 8 devices (maybe you should call it a replacement for ZUNE )
features:
Get your music, photos, and videos from your computer to your phone (and vice versa).
Quickly share things from your phone with Windows 8 apps (like Photos, or Search). You don’t even have to open the Windows Phone app to move things around.
Automatically save photos and videos you take with your phone to your desktop .
See at a glance how much space you’re using for each type of content, so it’s easy to make sure you never run out of room on your phone.
Get to WindowsPhone.com to download apps, learn more about your phone, or find it if it’s lost.

Just realised there's not much info floating around here about the awesome Remember The Milk task syncing app - I consider it a "must have" app for all my devices.
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/milksync/windowsmobile/
Basically it syncs your device task list with their online website, allowing you to keep track of things you need to do from any PC anywhere. The actual website is smooth web 2.0 goodness. Its free for 15 days and they then require you to upgrade to the pro version for $15 with additional features, but the free version is just fine (and I guess you can keep registering new accounts once the trial expires).
The app can be set to sync over-the-air manually or when cradled - or every 5/10/x minutes, so you don't have to worry about hidden data usage, and can be configured for 1 or 2-way syncing. Also, it doesn't mess up anything when you use the regular WM6 ActiveSync. The only catch is no proxy support.

PS. I dont work for them or anything, I just think its a kickass system.
They also have a ff plugin to integrate RTM with GMail.
I use GMail IMAP, RTM(MilkSync, FF Plugin, http://code.google.com/p/rememberthemoof/), and OggSync(calendar+contacts).
I wish they could develop a nice slick Windows Mobile app to use with the RTM service, just like they've recently done with the iPhone app.

I have just finished my Wakoopa-panel, made with the HTML-generator. I made it for myself, but maybe it could be of use to somebody else.

What is Wakoopa?
Wakoopa is an online social network that helps people discover the best software, games and web applications on the market. It's the Yellow Pages of software discovery. Sign-up, install a small tracker on your desktop and automatically create your own online software profile that you can share with friends and the world via widgets.
Games, audio & video players, instant messengers or office tools: Wakoopa helps people discover the best desktop and web applications on the market. Software discovery is social again.
Go to www.wakoopa.com for more information.
With this panel you can keep track of your own software you use on your desktop computer and from 3 other persons. After installation you have to edit some files to insert you, or your friends Wakoopa-ID:
Go after installation to the the Wakoopa-Panel directory on your phone (programfiles/panels/Wakoopa-Panel/)
For the first contact you have to edit these files: index.html / contact1new.html / contact1top.html / contact1recent.html
Look for something like " <img src="http://wakoopa.com/patrick/card.png " and replace 'patrick' (or 'blank' by contacts 2-4) with your Wakoopa ID.
For contact 2 you will have to edit contact2.html/ contact2new.html / contact2top.html / contact2recent.html . Contacts 3&4 are similar.
You also have to change the ID's in the file landscape.html
Quick guide:
By tapping on the card you will get more detailed information of that person and you can choose between top10 / most recent / or new programs.
By tapping on the logo you go to a overview-page of the 4 profiles, best watched in landscape-mode.
Looks useful... will give it a whirl later tonight.

Without Touchscreen or anything. At least not yet.
What I did? After verifying I got an updated backup on my server, I just installed Windows 8 ON TOP of my main office PC. Where I edit pictures and videos, install everything for testing, work on word processors, spreadsheets and overall browsing.
Kies isn't working though. Not sure why. However drivers for the devices are being downloaded easily. I just rooted and used ODIN 1.85 to flash CVM on my Galaxy Tab 7.7 and I can attest it worked.
First impressions? Nothing's changed much. All the hype and hysteria about the interface is just that, hysteria. You may miss the start menu at first, but after you pin a couple of apps, you're good. On the second screen, showing the desktop 100% of the time (there's no way around this, to show the Metro UI in both screens), you have a list of all pinned apps, the same ones I had on my Win7. All my settings were preserved btw, no loss. Steam seems to be working, Photoshop, except for Kies, everything worked well so far.
I expect some problems, but I plan to launch a VM to run older, crappy apps I may need.
I spend my days working on my main screen and my portrait 19" is just showing Metro goodness. Or not, sometimes both show desktop and frankly, I don't care one way or the other. If I want the metro apps, it's easy enough to show and hide, so I'm not complaining.
Here's one picture:

Tip: open Start, search for "Desktop icon", select the first result under Settings. It lets you put the "real" Computer icon on the desktop, rather than a shortcut.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to crap the thread, but where did you find those "amazing personalization Options"? To me, Metro UI is very limiting in terms of personalization. All that it is a background with showcase of apps that you have installed. You can do more even with very strict iOS (after jailbreak), and it is nowhere as flexible as Android or even a standard window 7 desktop (you can still customize win8 that way too and it will be much better showcase). Without any hacks for Metro UI personalization, this thread will be very boring.
And to prove the point, here are couple of examples of win7 desktops (can do the same in win8, not metro) - neither one of those is mine (just found using google):
Just wanted to show you what you're missing and hoping that hacks will come soon to metro UI
Really missing metro-folders, bigger and more informative tiles, tile shape changing etc...
