I had LG Quantum Windows Phone on the ATT network for 2 years. I switched to Straight Talk a month ago by just switching out the sim cards. The phone & service worked great except straight talk does not support windows phone because you can't edit the APN setting in Windows Phone because they are automatic. It was time for a new phone anyways so I went on ebay and found a HTC MyTouch 4g Slide unlocked from the T-mobile network. I put the straight talk sim in the new phone and now I am getting a lot of problems with sending & recieving text etc. The major problem I have is I keep getting a text message that says +1121611611 (2288 Error Invalid Number, Please resend using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. This is continuous day & night and will not stop and runs my battery down. Is it possible that I can't use a T-mobile phone with a AT&T version Straight Talk sim?
So just to be clear, I have a HTC MyTouch 4G that was originally from T-Mobile that is now unlocked. I have a AT&T/StraightTalk sim in it. Where I live I don't get good reception with the T-mobile networks and the AT&T service is better.
Please help!
Do all your contacts have 10 digit numbers? I.e. 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx You also stayed you have a my touch slide, you might search through that forum to see of somebody else had that issue..
I have all my numbers as 10 digit numbers. I even reset the phone and didn't even attach my google accounts or FB account and got the same error.
ATT or straight talk? Glacier or MT4G Slide? Its probably the APN

I wish to sell my g1 to my friend who has AT&T, sorry in advance if there is a thread on this I could not find any, So how could i get AT&T to work on a g1?
First, you have to have the G1 unlocked. TMO will do this for free if your account has been in good standing and you've owned your G1 for over 90 days. After that, your friend has to get an ATT sim to throw in (or theres a backward way using a different APN list). However, keep in mind that your friend WILL NOT be able to use 3G on ATT with the G1 ever. The G1 is hard coded to only function on TMO's 3G bands and it cant be changed.
1. Get Imei Code, It is behind the battery, you can go to photo status to find it, or you can dial *306#
2. Call TMobile requesting unlock code, provide them the IMEI code, and within 24 hours you will recieve it.
3. Insert ATT sim, A Sim unlock menu will pop up, type in the sim unlock code.
4. ???
5. Profit!
This indeed works well. Keep in mind the G1 cannot connect to 3G.
Thanks guys
So I have an unlocked MyTouch 3G, and I can't get past The "Touch The Android to begin setup" screen. I entered AT&T's APN Sttings, double checked them, even get The little Edge icon, but when I enter my GMail account info, it keeps giving me crap about not being able to establish a reliable connection, etc. What do I do to get my phone going? I don't have a T-Mobile SIM or know anybody who does so don't suggest that.
Obviously because you do not have a data plan. You need to have a sim with a data plan which either you pay for or you can snatch one of your friends sim and use it to activate. Once you do that I recommend immediately rooting the phone because most Mods have a skip button.
I have tried every code mentioned, in here, that was successful for others but not for me.
I started by buying my Galaxy S4, out right, at Walmart for use on Family Mobile. Poor signal everywhere except in my house. The phone has T-Mobile support as far as towers go. After about three weeks I had my phone number transferred to Straight Talk and they sent a SIM card for use with AT&T support. The phone was purchased as an unlocked phone, I did all the codes in this forum to check and sure enough, it is supposed to be unlocked, BUT, every SIM card I get from Straight Talk gives me "INVALID SIM CARD" when I boot up the phone then a black screen comes on with a subdued color message saying, "Sim network unlock PIN" and all the help from Family Mobile, T-Mobile, Straight Talk, Walmart and AT&T, have not helped my situation. I can't write a new APN and store it because I have an invalid SIM card. I have tried the service mode and did everything mention in these forums but no luck so far.
I really like the device(my NOT-Phone) but it does not function as a phone. Can anyone help with this one?

No warranty in Walmart?!
If it connects to T-Mobile towers out of the box, can you borrow a T-Mobile SIM from soneone and go through the SIM unlock procedure? I'd do that just to make sure it's SIM unlocked. Then try Straight Talk with whatever APNs they use. Do this on stock and once you can confirm you get that far and it's working then go crazy. Good luck.

If I put the original, 1st SIM (Family Mobile) that I bought, back in, I do not get the Unlock Sim code message but I also do not have service because I already had the number ported. I've been that route. I tried the APN routine but it won't save because I don't have service with that SIM card. I go into the unlock routine through the service mode and it says it's already unlocked. Any Sim card from Straight Talk gives me Invalid SIM.
I'm going to return it to Walmart and try another phone.
Okay so I have been fighting this phone for months now. I am so ready to just sell it to some phone trade-in company for $175. I am at a complete loss.
My father-in-law ran over his SM-G935V (yes, Verizon) with a golf cart and broke the screen and back plate. He then gave me the phone so I could fix it and use it. I replaced the screen and back cover on it and ordered a verizon sim card (I was on straight talk BYOP program using an ATT sim card) I activated the sim card and it didn't work on this phone. It just said, "Searching for Service". I put the sim card in my Moto X (Pure Edition) and it worked fine and had full signal. I took it back apart and made absolute sure that the antenna and every other connectors that I unplugged were seated and connected properly.
Seeing all the verizon bloatware and that it was on 6.0, I then thought it may be a software issue so I decided to get the G935U 7.0 factory unlocked image from sammobile.com. I waited for like 4 hours and downloaded both the unlocked version and the Verizon version. After using odin to flash both of them (one at a time of course) neither worked . The flash did work perfectly in every other aspect and the phone is now a G935U. I still have the original problem, however, where the phone shows "no service" and wont connect to a cellular network. It auto configures for what ever sim card type I put in (verizon, ATT ect) and connects to Wifi.
I'm so done with this thing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!!
I have the same problem, I haven't find any fix to this error...
I didn't have much money into the phone so I sold it on one of the phone trader websires for $180.
Case closed haha
No service message
I'm using smg935v with straighttalk byop sim card.. every time I restart my phone it says searching for service.. no text messages or incoming phone calls can be recieved. However, if I open the phones dialer and attempt to complete any dialed number.. Verizon wireless reappears and full phone functionality returns. I realize this is way late on your post and this probably doesn't matter.. but this may help anyone else experiencing this issue in the future.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S7 Edge G935V. I use it on Straight Talk with the AT&T sim card I took out of my Nexus 5.
I had to go into the settings and change it from CDMA to GSM. There is another choice called Global.
I tried both GSM and Global with same results.
Next I went into the APN settings and added a new APN. I entered all the information required for Straight Talk.
The phone is working fine except for 2 things I noticed. The verizon s7 Edge is missing LTE Band 17 and I think 12 too.
In my area Band 17 LTE is what my nexus 5 would connect to verified by an app called LTE Discovery available on Play Store.
On the S7 Edge it doesn't get Band 17 LTE. Fortunately I can connect to another band but its not quite as strong but it works.
I can surf, text and send pictures. When sending pictures I noticed the messenger program (default) isn't reducing the size of
the pictures small enough to work with text messages. I struggled with this for a week until I tried an experiment.
I used an app called Photo and Picture Resize. The App lets me take a picture, resize it and then send it with the messenger app.
Once the picture was reduced it sent fine. My nexus 5 never had this problem.
The other thing I noticed is sending a video text results in terrible quality. I have tried the lowest resolution
to the highest resolution setting with no improvement. I did a search on this and others seem to have the same
problem with the other versions of the S7 Edge, S8 and S9. I would like to find a fix for that.
The straight talk site offers the correct APN settings should you not know what the are.

Well, I gave up trying to use a Verizon mvno. One of my Page Plus automatic renewals failed, and it wouldn't activate until 2nd level support changed my IMEI to an iPhone 6 I borrowed. The procedure in the Verizon thread about activating an iPhone 6 and then moving the SIM to the Axon didn't work for me.
As we know, going to Sprint is out.
T-Mobile in my area has a weak signal.
That leaves American Telephone & Telegraph.
I tried searching for AT&T and ATT in this forum, but I only get results for at or attempt. I even tried putting quotes around it.
I bought a Red Pocket AT&T SIM, although it might be for T-Mobile. There's no printed identification on it, but someone at Cellular Depot wrote 'A' on it. There are two APNs on it T-Mobile US LTE and T-Mobile US.
When I try to add a Red Pocket AT&T APN, it will save it until I enter 410 for the MNC. Then it deletes it.
Did they send me the wrong SIM?
I'm running version B32, and I'm stuck at this level without the ZTE update server.
Was there a trick to save it on another phone, and then move it over?
Thanks
Just to close the issue...
I was accidentally sent a T-Mobile SIM. Cellular Depot was very good, and quickly sent me a replacement SIM for AT&T service.
