I am rooted, on aokp right now and have tried multiple roms. For some reason i cant get dropbox or even the camera to see the internal storage. I had some hiccups before and had to flash stock when this started. What can i try? Looked everywhere but its too hard to find anything bc it comes up talking about the usb dongle stuff.
One bump since at a loss...
I tried to fix permissions both through cwm and rom manager, no luck.
I installed 4.1.2 fresh and everything worked after.

I am running CM6 (with no bugs) and when I go to flash a different ROM after going through the splash screen when the phone is about to load and installing last bit, the message "android.process.media..." FC happens. I have looked and looked through XDA for a fix but have yet to find one.
I have rebooted after full wipe, no SD Card, wiping the SD Card etc. all to no avail.
As a note- the only reason I was going to flash a different ROM was to check 4G speeds in SF.
Does anyone know what is causing this?

Not exactly sure why it does this except knowing it doesnt happen when you start your device with the sd card out. I've had the same problem that I was finally able to fix.
Just nandroid backup your phone, wipe everything (Factory wipe/dalvik etc) and nandroid restore.
I tried every other thing imaginable and finally this fixed it as my last resort.
I'm happy I found this out as I was always having to nandroid back to an old backup every other month or so as once this starts FC'ing I'd never been able to make it stop without a full reload of the rom or nandroid restore...
Until yesterday, my Galaxy S II was working fine and I was recharging it as usual using my AC Adapter and it suddenly started to reboot itself constantly.
I thought nothing more of it until I found out that it wouldn't work at all.
I keep getting "System UID Inconsistent" messages and I try to force close the device but it doesn't work.
I'm using VillainROM 1.2 as my custom ROM as well as using the CF-Root Kernel to install it via Odin.
Is there anyway I can update VillainROM to fix the problem without wiping the data on the internal partition as well as accessing the internal partitions themselves?
(Ironically enough, I actually installed Titanium BACKUP itself on my device but for some reason, even though I paid for the full version, it would never let me upgrade to it!)
Apologies for bumping this thread but I really could do with some advice on how to fix this problem without having to flash the phone.
If phone turns on copy VR 1.4 file to sd card and flash through CWM as per roms instructions .
Or if you still have VR 1.2 on sd card reflash via CWM .
That fails a factory reset ( wipes all data ) may fix .

You have the pro file on your sd card .

Thanks for the advice and I'd try it if I could, but my phone still won't let me force close.
On a related note, I'm still trying to find out why I can't access the partitions on my mobile phone via USB even though the partitions appear in Windows Explorer.
I can't remember where I installed the upgrade file for Titanium, to be honest. I take it that where the upgrade file is installed could be the reason why the free version can't be upgraded?
hello world!
i've been using my gt-i9300 since one year now. back then i've rooted it right away with an already rooted firmware or stock firmware.
can't remember anymore. the file was: I9300XXDLIH_I9300EPLDLJ1_I9300XXDLID_HOME.tar.md5
i hadn't had any problems. even had cwm and stuff on it.
a few days ago i've flashed this firmware onto my cellphone: I9300XXUGMK6_I9300DBTGMK2_I9300XXUGMK6_HOME.tar.md5
and after testing if all went ok i've figured out that some apps had trouble opening itself.
i've then flashed chainfire's CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md but still the problem remained.
firefox, dropbox, drweb light and a few others had problems running. so i've uninstalled firefox and drweb, reinstalled them
and the ran again.
then i thought "whynot copy the files from internal storage to the external" .. ive tried that and copied the stuff back into
the phone and the apps ran again.
so my question now is, what have i done wrong or why were there right problems or what is it that the apps
get fixed after copying them from and to the internal cellphone storage?
besides that, cf's superuser hasn't been flashed directly. i had to install it.
done the firmware/cf flash/install procedure twice and both times i had to install the stuff manually.
it's rooted now and the trick with copying the apps fixes the halting problem. but what is the real problem?
and another question i have "insane chip? YES" .. i thought samsung fixed this bug?
cheers!
I've been trying to fix this issue for about 4 hours now, so this is my last resort.
A while ago I rooted and installed CM on my phone since my galaxy s4 was bought from dubai so it didn't receive the regular android updates (it's still 4.3). I used CM for a while but realised that my phone was overheating a lot and battery life was a lot worse. So I decided to go back to my recovery.
After going back to my recovery everything worked fine but apps can no longer save to SD card, I can't recieve pictures, download podcasts or use anything that requires SD card.
I'm not very familiar with android coding but I tried using ADB and I just got confused, I also checked permissions in platform.xml and I've tried that solution and it still doesn't work. I've tied unmounting and mounting the sdcard I've tried formatting it in the phone itself and formatting it via recovery. I have no idea what else to do.
It's standard in the later version of Android. So it has nothing to do with CM or custom roms.
Google for "i9505 write sd kitkat' and you find plenty of guides how to solve it.
Why didn't you just download the latest version of CM and use that?
Hello! Long time lurker on here but first time posting. I follow this guide to unlock bootloader and install twrp on the zc553kl. https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/how-to/zenfone-3-max-zc553kl-bootloader-unlock-t3691837
It kind of worked, and it did flash twrp. The only problem is that the twrp although launching, didnt seem to have permissions to access storage, probably due to a data encryption problem. all the storages had 0mb sizes and i couldn't do anything.
So naturally i googled my problem and tried a few methods.
Nothing seemed to work, and i ended up doing an advance wipe. That also failed and it said it didnt have access or permission to do it (something along those lines). Next day i decide to try again and now my internal storage seemed to show.
So i ended up formatting it, and while the files seem to be still there, i changed .ext4 to .ext2 and back again, and then it stopped recognizing the stock rom i still had installed. Please note that before all of this, although twrp didnt work properly, the phone still worked fine and booted into android. My problem is now the stock rom is gone, twrp says no OS installed, and i have tried my best to reinstall the stock rom, but that hasn't worked. Any ideas or help would be welcome thanks guys
